@tsharpmac420 It's actually not hyperinflation yet, but might get that way. Hyperinflation is when you need buckets of money to buy a loaf of bread, like in the Weimar Republic, Germany after WW1. To be accurate, the US dollar has lost about half its value in the last 3 years or so. That is inflation, but not hyperinflation.

@bodryn the important differnce between us and german is that very few countries used marks as a reserve currency,almost every country uses the $ as their reserve. even if the quantitative easing is under control it is still dangerous, if the $ got low enough 2 scare those countries n2 dumping their $ would instantly make the $ worthless say that the amount of $ outside the Us was the same as inside,if the dump happened there would instantly be 100% more $ in the global economy killing $(dollar)

They expect workers, who used to have all but $2000 of their health care costs paid for, now have been told they must accept four times as much expense for health care. To break the union, management has reportedly advertised in South Carolina for workers to "temporarily" take their place. Heard this on KFGO radio.

I know sometimes the principal's wife would sometimes teach as a substitute when a regular teacher was gone. My mother worked as a nurses aide and my sister as an RN. My dad had started a new business and every little bit helped when times were tough at first.

For some reason, the people who run the US (not the people) do not want to protect American workers first. Raising the debt ceiling is done routinely, has been done dozens of times during the last many decades by both parties. To bring into question whether the US is actually going to pay debts ALREADY INCURRED makes borrowers question whether the US actually intends to pay them. The time to make a stink is when congress is debating over spending.

@tsharpmac420 It's actually not hyperinflation yet, but might get that way. Hyperinflation is when you need buckets of money to buy a loaf of bread, like in the Weimar Republic, Germany after WW1. To be accurate, the US dollar has lost about half its value in the last 3 years or so. That is inflation, but not hyperinflation.

@bodryn the important differnce between us and german is that very few countries used marks as a reserve currency,almost every country uses the $ as their reserve. even if the quantitative easing is under control it is still dangerous, if the $ got low enough 2 scare those countries n2 dumping their $ would instantly make the $ worthless say that the amount of $ outside the Us was the same as inside,if the dump happened there would instantly be 100% more $ in the global economy killing $(dollar)

They expect workers, who used to have all but $2000 of their health care costs paid for, now have been told they must accept four times as much expense for health care. To break the union, management has reportedly advertised in South Carolina for workers to "temporarily" take their place. Heard this on KFGO radio.

I know sometimes the principal's wife would sometimes teach as a substitute when a regular teacher was gone. My mother worked as a nurses aide and my sister as an RN. My dad had started a new business and every little bit helped when times were tough at first.

Why is it that really rich people pay no taxes either, especially if they have no "income"? Could it be because we have a progressive tax system where the poor pay taxes and the rich get to skate? Maybe if we did away with the tax system we have now we could establish a system where everyone pays.

Rich folks and big corporations keep their money offshore as TAX SHELTERS, which is how they skate tax free. Regulations are needed there - any game needs rules, including Wall Street games. Corporations paid some 30% income tax during the Eisenhower years. Now they're averaging 6.6%, meaning the rest of us make up the diff.

@cnsrvtvsrule I repeat: during the Eisenhower years, corporations paid some 30% taxes, meaning the rest of us paid less, and we had a much better standard of living then, than now when corporations pay 6.6%. The median family income has gone down significantly in terms of real wages. How do you like them apples? They'd play chess without a chessboard, tennis without a net, sneak in extra players to win football games, put their thumb on the grocery scale, you name it. People who favor deregulation should also deregulate things for common folks: get rid of stop lights, stop signs, no need for drivers licenses, speed limits. Heck, solve the crime problem by making all crimes LEGAL! What a concept!

Raising the debt ceiling is done routinely, has been done dozens of times during the last many decades by both parties. To bring into question whether the US is actually going to pay debts ALREADY INCURRED makes borrowers question whether the US actually intends to pay them. The time to make a stink is when congress is debating over spending.

However, I can't help but notice they salt their money away in overseas tax havens instead of investing in America's future. Just look at Wisconsin politics this year. Ed was the only guy making personal interviews last February and brought the Wisconsin story to public awareness bigtime. He got a football scholarship to quarterback at my alma mater, and as I recall he took our little college to an NCAA championship. This led to a TV career, thanks to the attention of a local sportscaster. You obviously know less than nothing about Ed.
