I got this same guitar, I tweaked the pickups to reduce the tube sound, made it a hardtale, and threw some 58 gauge strings and put it in drop A.

i've played a fucking jazz hollowbody from gibson twice, when my old band was doing pumpkins and pearl jam covers. and guess what? it was pretty fucking heavy.

i played a tele in that band too. sounded heavier than the humbucking jazz guitar. so bite me and learn that the way you think isn't always the way it goes.

Those Marshal amps he has really are horrible. They are Marshall Micro Stacks. I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot stick.

yeah thats there biggest mistake, i definitly needed to put a 3th spring in it, but the tremolo is harder to move then.

Hey I have an OBEY propaganda but it's a tele and it sounds simply stunning distorted through a roland cube 30X amp. Get a tele for punk/metal and invest in a pedal! Hope that helps..
