David and Chris work in using video taped tricks. The trick is on the TV audience . It uses the notion that we believe the people who are being tricked are just regular folks from the crowd ... when in fact they are part of the trick. They are in on it and pretend to be amazed . It is a slight of viewing perception. I think when he moves into real viewers in live situations he runs the risk of failure as seen in NYC. I love DB. I hope he recoups his career soon after people forget a bit.

Totally wrong, Criss Angel is the one that uses camera tricks and stooges all the time and rarely does a real effect, and David has only used camera editing for his levitation. David never uses stooges in any of his effect, ever. For the levitation he did the normal, balance on one foot version to get a reaction out of a real audience, and then edits it out later and does a levitation where wires are lifting him up. Criss rarely uses real people that's why Criss isn't liked in magic community.

Oh and by the way, this trick isn't really that hard to figure out from a magicians point of view. I could tell what he was doing at the start of the effect and how he accomplished it at the end. If you watch the higher quailty one, you will see that everything happens all at once. There isn't any camera tricks or fake illusions here. I can do this trick to real people too. Listen, just watch closely and think about it for a bit, you will be able to figure it out...

David Blaine is the origin of street magic. He started it all, and nobody can replace him.
