  • Freaking terrible..... the shop there in is super ghetto too....

  • spacer is thick like his finger!!

  • people like this is what gives installers a bad rep. doing it so wrong

  • WOW! I have installed thousands of feet of tile and just watched a couple of these "Expert Village" videos and they all give people really bad advice. If you would like to learn about tiling buy yourself a copy of the National Tile Contractors Association handbook and it will tell you how the pros do it. This guy needs to get himself a copy before showing people how to do a tile install that is sure to fail.

  • a degree in architecture....yeah right !

how do these useless DIY videos get out here ?

they so mislead people and wind up hurting some poor person seeking real advice.

  • You were using thinset, not mastic. There is a difference. Another thing, you do need to press the tiles into the thinset. Maybe you should mix up a batch of cookies instead of trying to tile something.

  • this is terrible. did you read a book?? no you watched the hometime series .bob the builder ? I call shenanigans thumbs up to back me up

  • i'm a tile contractor........this guy has no idea how wrong he does things

  • Stick to the theory degree boy

  • Go and Die ..... Slowly

  • and learn how to smear

  • no real tile man uses spacers on a floor

  • yeah man. You say you hav been in the construction business for 10 years. Doesn`t look like it. first time you have seen a tile?

How about measuring befor laying so it`s the exact same lenght on both sides, and maybe doing the whole thing at once.

  • A few comments for the "expert" in this video:

    1) never mix thinset in a cooking bowl (use a large plastic can)

    2) never use a container to mix your thinset that your notched trowell can barely fit in (see #1)

    3) back-buttering the tile would be quicker/less messy than what you did

    4) too many thin/bare areas prior to setting tile leads to problems down the road

    5) don't use your kitchen sink for cement based product cleanup (unless you love home improvment)

  • I am pretty sure backbuttering would be required to validate most tile warranties too?

  • expert village idiot

  • juaaaaaaa does not have a clue

  • i like your work. i want to do my tile .can you teach me?

  • WHAT A HACK

  • You don't have a clue as to what your talking about!

  • top view camera angle would be better as a demonstration
