can you recyle the sand after being used?

how/when/where did you learn? self taught? any books you can recommend? I have no woodwork experience but would like to get into pipe making.

I use electrical tape. It just happens to be white, but masking tape will probably blast away pretty quickly.

Hey man I want to sand blast the top ring around my pipe,as well as one sliver down the side of the pipe, cn I just tape off with white masking tape and blast away or is it going to show through when I brush over the tape? Thanks, good video.

Is my understanding correct that, unlike rustication, sand-blasting cannot be used to desguise a major flaw in the briar, therefore you are justified in calling a sand-blasted pipe "perfect".

That is true. Major flaws would still be visible by texture. No matter how deep the sandblast, a deep hole still looks like a deep hole. :) So, in that respect they are "firsts" or "perfect," yes.
