@Spectic The graphic novel came before Daria I believe. But Daria was a minor background character in Beavis and Butthead.... and Beavis and Butthead came out before Ghost World... So I d k.
I thought this film would be another boring crap from Hollywood but Thora Birch made it look much better. She is amazing actress and unquestioning "master of weird roles". Steve Buscemi and Scarlett Johansson were great as well. Brad Renfro should have had much more screen time.
The bus the old man was waiting for every day. Probably takes a route down the River Stixx. A.K.A a metaphor for death, so basicaly Enid comitted suicide.
LOL... the Wowsville scene is hilarious. I like all the fat people sitting around and the cheesy music playing. Sounds like they are poking fun of a Brittany or some other pop-slut's generic music.
Awesome. I haven't seen it in a while and I'm not even sure if I'll ever will. It's one of the saddest films I've ever seen and brings back a lot of old memories today. Just hearing that depressing score again makes me ache on the inside.
Yes she is. She changes glasses all the time. When she's in the bar with Seymour, we can see her changing her glasses. She's so fun! I love her style, even her glasses! Really cool ;-)
I wish I could have seen this one when it came out the first time around. But at least there is IFC,The Sundance Channel and DVD so I didn't miss it at all.
That guy is not a satanist, he looks like a recarination of King Tut!

actually Enid is the jewish one,,,,,,,,,,:]
olimac909 3 years ago
I mean in real life, Scarlet is Jewish. So it's ironic that she gets called an aryian in the movie.

bittertea 4 years ago
Eh. I personally like the graphic novel better.
Enid having sex with Seymour put me off, because I read the novel first and kept watching the movie expecting Josh to be more prominent. x)
spahandskye 4 years ago
Yeah... @.@ That was shocking.
More shocking then the child pornography guy in the comic. (I forget if they were in the movie or not. It's been a while.)
bittertea 4 years ago
yeah, but Josh is pretty much just a younger version of Seymour.

I swear to god I am going to grow up to be just like Enid, except not Jewish...
