Funny. Like in all "holy" books there are TONS of extremely vague notions of things that can be interpreted in so many ways and thus its so easy to label it as scientific since it can be interpreted as anything basicly. I mean why would an all knowing and all-powerful deity even want to be so vague? @Atamv it sounds vague if you translate it to another language, especially from a language that is so specific and sensitive (arabic) to another language like english. like there are so many words in arabic that the exact translations of it doesn't exist in english. an eg is the word Rabb in arabic, there isn't such word (1 word) in english to translate Rabb.
@Atamv yes, they have many possible meanings. but which meaning of the specific word that is used can be known by the context that the word is used. so, it really dpends on the context. arabic is very sensitive language, it's very close to my own language farsi, and 1st some words can't really be exactly translated and 2nd the grammar is also very sensitive and if the translator makes a mistake then the entire meaning becomes very diff from what it really says.
@Atamv p.s. the translators use a word that is the most closest to the arabic word and same with the grammar which makes the quran reallyy biast when translated. So, personally i dont rely too much on the translation of Quran but rather im learning arabic to read the real quran (not the translation) in order to avoid those vague and biast versions.
@fuckrussianz Well i doubt they could vary that much. The thing about scientific explenations is that they cant be made with a few words/centences. If you want a scientific explenation on something you will have to read a whole set of articles/papers on the subject. Sure it would have been extraordinary if the quran in detail explained a complex event. But as far as i know its all rather vague. (more in next comment)

Most of them has had knowledge that was "before their time", whether it be math, astronomy, biology or any other field. There r some scientific facts in quran that scientists couldn't have known them without the tools. eg. the satellites, computers, balloons were used to know how the clouds behave...the barrier between sweet and salty sea was discovered recently by a non-muslim...

That verse about the mountain refers to the function of Mountains, i.e preventing shocks in the Earth.

It is surprising how both videos came up with completely different (sometimes opposing) interpretations of the same verses.
One side says that they are mistakes according to his/her interpretation and the other says that they are miracles (according to the other interpretation)
Just the fact that it can be interpreted differently shows its inaccuracy. If the Quran said: The man lives on top of the crust that surrounds the Earth, which is a sphere, and of which is also composed of a mantle, outer core and inner core. That would be accurate. There's nothing scientific in saying the spreading ground protects us. In fact, there's nothing accurate at all.
@2CSST2 My thoughts exactly. And many of those "scientific" verses are flat out wrong. For example the ones that are supposed to speak about embryology. They don't match the modern view, not until the scholars make a huge stretch in finding those similarities. When you just read the text with a critical mind, you notice that it matches perfectly with the erroneous ancient theories that the greek and roman philosophers came up with, no extra interpretation needed there.

@prosk8er According to many sources from what I've read about this subject the word "alaqa" is a very ambiguous word which can be translated in a couple of different ways. It can mean for example a clot, a clot of blood, or a leech-like substance. So you've basically just decided one translation over the other.. And even if they really did mean a leech-like substance when they used the word "alaqa", Aristotle already knew that an embryo "clings" to the uterus wall.

And also Quran has many verses that have been interpreted as scientific miracles in modern times. But when people actually read them critically they often notice that they are actually based on old theories which have been proven wrong when the science has progressed.

As an oblate spheroid Earth's equator circumference (circle shaped) is greater than pole-to-pole one(elliptic).
With prolate spheroid (eggs), if it's inclined to 90°, the equatorial circumference is still greater than polar one, BUT their shape differ: equatorial one is elliptic and polar one is circular.
So you cannot compare Earth to an egg.

Like in all "holy" books there are TONS of extremely vague notions of things that can be interpreted in so many ways and thus its so easy to label it as scientific since it can be interpreted as anything basicly. I mean why would an all knowing and all-powerful deity even want to be so vague? @Atamv it sounds vague if you translate it to another language, especially from a language that is so specific and sensitive (arabic) to another language like english. like there are so many words in arabic that the exact translations of it doesn't exist in english. an eg is the word Rabb in arabic, there isn't such word (1 word) in english to translate Rabb.

@Atamv yes, they have many possible meanings. but which meaning of the specific word that is used can be known by the context that the word is used. so, it really dpends on the context. arabic is very sensitive language, it's very close to my own language farsi, and 1st some words can't really be exactly translated and 2nd the grammar is also very sensitive and if the translator makes a mistake then the entire meaning becomes very diff from what it really says.

@Atamv p.s. the translators use a word that is the most closest to the arabic word and same with the grammar which makes the quran reallyy biast when translated. So, personally i dont rely too much on the translation of Quran but rather im learning arabic to read the real quran (not the translation) in order to avoid those vague and biast versions.

If you want a scientific explenation on something you will have to read a whole set of articles/papers on the subject. Sure it would have been extraordinary if the quran in detail explained a complex event. But as far as i know its all rather vague. (more in next comment)

Just the fact that it can be interpreted differently shows its inaccuracy. If the Quran said: The man lives on top of the crust that surrounds the Earth, which is a sphere, and of which is also composed of a mantle, outer core and inner core. That would be accurate. There's nothing scientific in saying the spreading ground protects us. In fact, there's nothing accurate at all.

@2CSST2 My thoughts exactly. And many of those "scientific" verses are flat out wrong. For example the ones that are supposed to speak about embryology. They don't match the modern view, not until the scholars make a huge stretch in finding those similarities. When you just read the text with a critical mind, you notice that it matches perfectly with the erroneous ancient theories that the greek and roman philosophers came up with, no extra interpretation needed there.

@prosk8er According to many sources from what I've read about this subject the word "alaqa" is a very ambiguous word which can be translated in a couple of different ways. It can mean for example a clot, a clot of blood, or a leech-like substance. So you've basically just decided one translation over the other.. And even if they really did mean a leech-like substance when they used the word "alaqa", Aristotle already knew that an embryo "clings" to the uterus wall.

And also Quran has many verses that have been interpreted as scientific miracles in modern times. I do NOT hate JEWS/CHRISTIANS and nearly all Muslims includng the Prophet belive this. I frankt;y believe all righteous Jews and Christians are Muslims, those who believe in the Unity of God. respect the Prophets and Message of God and who practised the teachings in their books as well as possible.

@gmcjetpilot The eloquency and beauty of the Qur'an is respected by Muslim and non-Muslims alike. I am proud that many Islamic philosophers, scientists and mathmatecians sought inspiration from the Qur'an during the Middle Ages when most of Europe was under Christendom. It was after the Prophet's passing was knowledge from other civilisations such as the Greek, Persians etc were preserved and used.)

@gmcjetpilot Many Muslims, Jews and Christians worked together to disprove many beliefs of the ancients. This knowledge preserved and enhanced by the Islamic world (which showed great tolerance because of the Prophet's teachings) was passed on and taken up by the Christendom to kick start their Renaissance. I feel when Muslims followed the Qur'anic teachings well, they excelled in the sciences and when the Church's grip fell in Europe science flourished.

The so called great science muslims claim, implying it has something to do with Islam is a joke. Islam invaded people who were culturally and technically more advanced. What Islam had was a Warlord named mohammad who said, Believe or ELSE! The claims Muslims are so exaggerated to the ludicrous, same as ridiculous claims Muslims make today for "miracle science" in the Quran. That alone shows mohammedans are liars in a false religion. So much proves islam is a false flawed ideology.

Muslims were far from backwards without the Islamic world there would be no Western renaissance. Muslims were not the first to start the slave trade, Unfortunately Muslims have killed, not to spread Islam cos u can't force religion upon any1 but other religions have also killed many. Christians are certainly no exception ie the indigenous Americans, Australians, Africans etc. and that's excluding Europe and Asia. A paedophile is someone who is attracted sexually to minor girls.

I would like any1 to show me a better man than the Prophet (SAW). He was an example to all mankind and the progress and peace he brought into the world is apparent. I am sure Jesus' second coming will reveal to Muslims and Christians the truth. Jesus' teachings are little followed for he has been idolised, (many of his discples didn't worship him).

How can I respect this 7th century person you worship. He is no prophet. Show me he is a prophet? What prophecy did he give. The Quran records he predicted wins in battles only to lose. Countless times God says that He wishes us to see His Signs...the Qur'an gives guidance to what these signs are...and He wishes us to explore think and ponder. The Qur'an speaks on many different levels for different people at different times. It has resulted in countless conversions and wll continue to do so, God Willing. I hope there is hope 4 all of us including to see the Truth.

PS. 'Wiping ur ass odd no of times?' I have read many Prophetic teachings but this was certainly not one of them. Let me tell u something Muslims directly influenced...medicine...its teaching, medical schools, chemistry, pharmacology and importantlt hygiene. The latter was directly influencd by the Prophet's teachings...Muslims need to perform baths/ablutions before prayers, all impurities need to be removed, hands washed b4 and after eating. all pleasant things with right. So we eat with the right and read with the right index finger. We use the left hand to blow our noses and relieve ourselves, Oh and we are not recommended to just use toilet paper...we use water cos that cleaner and purer. This is just a few exmples there are many more. If u don't like them then stop commenting on things u don't know how to discuss things properly. I respect members of all faiths maybe u should too,
