Communic's songs are longer, more progressive, less of a genre grab bag, and focused on different issues than Nevermore's. Oddleif's vocals are more controlled than the 5-octave wonder.
The songs are also performed with an almost industrial, workmanlike feel, fitting their lyrical theme. The production adds this quality.
Funny how many similarties there are between Communic and Nevermore. Both their vocalists look similar and the music obviously lol. Nothing short of EPIC!

I think they are a good band, but just like Ektomorf/Sepultura, Lamb Of God/Pantera/Exhorder, Darkest Hour/Black Dahlia Murder/At The Gates, Kalmah/Children Of Bodom, Textures/Hacride/Coprofago/Meshuggah I can't help but compare them to Nevermore. Wish I could forget that and enjoy them for what it is but I can't. And for the people saying Communic had this voice as early as Nevermore... I bet Stensland loves him some Sanctuary.
Nevermore is an amazing band, how can a band be "too much like Nevermore", wouldn't it only be better? In my opinion it would, but if you listen to enough Nevermore and enough Communic, the similarities will seem pretty vague, as they really are.

Not so much. Nevermore is much heavier, and the solos Loomis plays are insane compared to this, not that this is bad. But its not as similar as it seems on the first few listens. After hearing both Communic albums many times, and all of Nevermore's albums, I can see the differences are vast.

To think Oddleif does all of the lead guitar and vocals on his own! I'd like to hear Warrell Dane or Jeff Loomis do that (not to take away from either's talent).
In addition to Oddleif's similarities to Warrel, Tor Atle's drumming for some reason reminds me of Van Williams's style. Could be the way he almost perfectly complements the rest of the music.
Despite being totally straight, i think Oddleif Stensland is such a good looking guy! Plus he has a unique and beautiful voice, which make Communic such a great band. Lovin Under a Luminous Sky

The vocals do sound similar to nevermore, but I like that type of voice.

fuck! the vocals really remind me of a bad imitation of Warrel Dane's voice! but they're not too bad though. music is definitely goood

Great band, IMO the vocals could have been better, sounds sometimes a bit "forced/unnatural"...but overall great. Listen to Devon Graves - Deadsoul Tribe - always great vocals!

To think Oddleif does all of the lead guitar and vocals on his own! I'd like to hear Warrell Dane or Jeff Loomis do that (not to take away from either's talent).
In addition to Oddleif's similarities to Warrel, Tor Atle's drumming for some reason reminds me of Van Williams's style. Could be the way he almost perfectly complements the rest of the music.

Despite being totally straight, i think Oddleif Stensland is such a good looking guy! Plus he has a unique and beautiful voice, which make Communic such a great band. Lovin Under a Luminous Sky
