  • hit that main nerve running down the body not a spine shot i wouldnt be proud of the shot but nice harvest

  • Looked at 30 sec. Yes, neck shot which equals spine shot. The spine is not on the top edge under the fur. It's a few inches down.

  • I saw three deer drop on the spot this year with three different broadheads. Only one was a spine shot, it angled upwards, one was right behind the shoulder through ribs and the last one went through ribs at right angle and stopped behind other shoulder, had to skin deer to get the head. Nice shot, good kill.

  • That was a lucky shot. Is that really where you were aiming? Never seen the kill zone in front of the shoulder before.

  • Is the entry hole about the same size as the exit ? I only c people showing the exit hole on their videos, been thinking about getting me a pack to hunt with

  • DAMN! That was more humane than lethal injection!

  • nice vid and cool kill

  • It's not the broadhead nor the spine. The arrow hit her on the shoulder. But, she start falling before the arrow hit her. She was already spooked before the shot, looking at the direction of the camera. Almost reminds me of fainting goats, that fall down when they are scared. Regardless; nice doe, nice shot, nice video...

  • it dropped in its place because it hit it in the spine...above the shoulder...right behind her neck.

They are great broadheads but that isn't what dropped the deer...notice your lack of penetration, it was the spine being broken that caused her to drop in place.

  • @ManOfKnight as I stated earlier:

what is deceiving about this vid is that the first 1/3 of the arrow went on thru the deer. The vid looks like it stops right away but as the deer was moving it snapped the arrow and stopped 2/3 of the shaft from going anywhere...the broadhead exited high in the neck...it struck the shoulder blade and veered up...I wouldn't use a mechanical for elk but sure would on deer...jmho

  • @ManOfKnight it was not in the spine it was right infront of the shoulder. not above it. Look at 30sec.

  • @ManOfKnight it WAS NOT a spine shot look at 30 seconds and you can clearly see it hit in the front of the shoulder. not above it.

  • @ManOfKnight I didn't know that the spine was in the middle of the body. thats good to know. lol classic

  • holy fuck.....nice

  • I would go with a 125 grain for elk and a 100 grain for deer...thats my advice

  • what is probably the best weight of mechanical broadhead for a 60-80lb bow? I have a bow that can be tuned from 60 to 80lbs and would like to go hunting with it, but dont know which broadhead to use.

  • stop it at 11 seconds and you can see the impact it makes right on the shoulder

  • its not the grim reaper its called a spine shot

  • Holy shit

  • Neck shot, kills them on contact.

  • @codygrant94tracker I agree!!!!! Took two does in the neck this year. Not where I wanted to place the arrow, it was just where it ended up. They dropped right there DRT!

  • spine shot!

  • spine shot....got lucky but what are you gonna do... happens to the best of them.

  • any deer will fall and die being shot top of the shoulder. its almost like it paralises them

  • OK, not a perfect "double lung" like the perfect experts on the hunting channel, but as a bowhunter who shoots an elk and about 3 deer a year, that wasnt a bad shot. Even if she wouldnt have dropped like she was hit with a truck, she would have been recovered without much problems. Good job seekbowhunter

  • holy crap that wasnt in the vitals!

  • how far or close was that shot?

  • looks like you shot it in the shoulder so it went down

  • Nicely done. I am out here in Missouri, and use Grim Reaper. Gotta love it

  • MAMONES

  • MALDITOS SEAIS

  • dude WTF that thing shocked down inmediately! maybe you hit a important nerve or something can someone tell what happened?

  • @ tulipothar thats right. i was wondering 2...

  • what is deceiving about this vid is that the first 1/3 of the arrow went on thru the deer.

  • @seekbowhunter why wouldnt u use a mech. for elk ? j/w... the 2 blade rage worked good on my elk from last year and ill probly use them this year as well

  • @seekbowhunter i would say something was mechanically messed on the broad head you were shooting, i myself do not hunt with bow yet but my brother and rest of my familly do and my brother has not had any issues with his grim reapers, they are known for the ability to punch through both shoulder bones, kind of odd that yours stopped

  • Nice video!

But correct me if I´m wrong here!! Say a clip where they shot GR broadhead in ballistics gel with 2 shoulderbones and it penetrated both, this doesnt seem to penetrate much further in then just barely to hit the vitals. No offense to you, just wonder why..

  • @tulipothar Just found ur answer at the bottom, sry!

  • i' d say harvesting deer at 45 57 66 72 and 78 yds makes me an expert especially since i had a regular 75lb pse marauder with aluminum arrows so if you want you can call me rambo or the bow sniper works well too. sleep well

  • okay rambo it is

  • i know it was a bit forward but still not bad....glad to know you are such a expert.

  • It was to forward, if the deer didn't jump the bow string it would have wounded or a complete miss!

  • would it be ok to shoot grim reaper expandables in my youth bow..50 lb. draw...i killed a small seven with thunder heads from 7 yards on the ground(exciting) and it dropped it in it`s tracks, but would the expandables have ennough kinetic energy to deploy the blades every time...EVERY time

  • I would stay with fixed broadheads with the poundage...I personally use cut on contact fixed on all big game now.

  • @seekbowhunter ,that`s what i figured...what broad head do recommend? i used thunder heads(85 grain) at the beggining of the season...but now im usin the cheap walmart broadheads...lol..gonna use them on turkey

  • well young fella if I were you I would use rocky mountain titanium 85 or 100 broadheads...the very best and super sharp...you can't beat em

  • @seekbowhunter, alright, sounds good..im ready for the next season..i have the perfect stand, right at the edge of the woods with a natural flooded marsh/small pond and im gonna set out some trophy rock and plant clover around it.. right now im workin on my fly fishn casting skills..lol, although i am pretty dang good at makin my own flys

  • @fishnkid1923

should work fine. i shoot a razor edge at 60 lbs and iv always had all blades open on contact

  • ha ha

  • where is the penetaration a rage

  • they did the test with grim reapers..

  • wtf they didnt do that with rage.. they did that with the grim reaper

  • Comment removed

  • no way ... they only look nice and shinny ...the only mechanical i use is the 100 gr grimreaper razortip.... and i also like magnus buzzcut because of their penetration and lifetime guaranty...

  • yeah magnus makes some nice stuff. not many people i know like them for some reason.

  • @MainTightSqueeze ....yup.... i love the magnus stinger buzzcuts 2 blade 100 gr.... for hogs ...i havnt gotten the chance to hunt elk, but im sure 2 blades buzzcuts would be the way to go...and for deer sized game i just use mechanicals like the 100 gr grim reaper.... they make a big hole lol...but i like the penetration of the magnus on hogs ....

  • Not the ideal spot to hit! But when the deer is staring at you the reaction time to the bowissomuch quicker it can turn it into a real crapshoot... Grim Reaper!

  • 0:11 - very nice shot! Instantly killed! :D Thanks for sharing!

    Johanna, the Huntress.

  • it almost looks like the deer falls down before the arrow hit's him

  • that got like 5 inches of penetration? i thought the grim reapers would do better

  • actually the arrow broke on impact and the broadhead exited on the other side....it hit the shoulder and veered up hit the spine and came out....it doesn't look like it in the vid but that is actually what happened.

  • Man that deer fell like it got hit by a train! Good shooting!

  • liooks to me like the shoulder blade

  • That's exactly what i thought when i seen that. HOLY SHIT.... Awesome video.

  • It hit the base of the neck didn't it?

  • ya they always seem to drop from anything to the neck

  • wow. how many lbs. was the bow set for?

  • 70lbs....shoots a arrow at 322 fps.

  • The deer saw that coming, only too late

  • holy shit lol, better than a bullet

  • Nice shot!
