Found a bottle of Pure Malt tester today at a local fragrance discounter for fifty bucks! He had like five more bottles left, could not afford to buy them all. It exceeded my expectations, this juice rocks!
Every single person I've sprayed this for says it's by far the richest, deepest, sexiest fragrance they've ever smelled. And longevity? Shit, three sprays and you're good for 8 hours + REGARDLESS of skin type.
I'm soo glad I bought a back up bottle of this - it seems to totally disappeared off the internet. Definitely blind-buyable.
@raprit man i dunno if you'll like this. it is from the batch of 904119 which is an old batch according to some posts in basenotes so i think it has lost some notes. actually I'm looking for some one who has it and if he confirms that it's pure malt sure I'll sell it back.
@yawarakai1000 You can also sell it on ebay quickly. I have a bottle I've had for about 3 years and love wearing it on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years but that's it.

Pure Malts and Pure Coffee are the 11's (concords, space jams, cool grey, etc). While A*Men are like the non retro jordans. Thierry Mugler is a genius marketer and def chose to do it the right way unlike every other cologne company.

- this is absolutely NOT very very very strong... after about an hour You can barely smell it.. You need to get your nose close to your hand.
- the longevity is the WORST of anything I have EVER owned..I don't know what's with the 24 hours bullshit... and I know I'm not the only one out there cause I did some research on it.. a lot of people out there who are pissed about this.

I picked this up from an Australia only online store for $110AUD delivered (the company is in a different state). Not sure if it's a good deal or not but all our fragrance retailers here don't have it and some of the people there haven't even heard of pure malt. So hopefully I got a good deal lol! I bought some of this last week. Very tasty juice. :) The berries at the start are so delicious. for me though after about 45 mins it settles down considerably, and after 3 hours I can barely smell it. :/
I tried the normal amen today for the first time. This was strong for 3 hours, and I could still smell it afterwards until I went to bed 8+ hrs after application. When first applied The tar note seemed nasty compared with pure malt. a bit like an ash tray smell. After it settles tho
they have actually dicontinued pure malt now in april 2011 and have bought pure havane that you cannot even compare with this and it dosen't even last
If serial number is removed from box and scracthed off bottle is the pure malt legit? just sold from an "unauthorized" retailer? Like Walgreens? Would appreciate your help.
funny thing is 2day i went Pure Malt hunting..and on my last hunt i went 2 Macy's 34th st...i saw only A*Men and Havanne in the bottom display windows but AMAZINGLY & SURPRISINGLY enough... peripherally i saw a different bottle on the countertop..it was black with a gold star...un FREAKING BELIEVABLE ! ...there it was T.M. PURE MALT !...no more bottles..just the tester.
i finally got 2 experience it...well 4 the 2nd time around.....i caught a scent of this b4...i just wanted 2 make sure it was T.M. Pure Malt...because mostly everybody in the youtube fragrance community has been raving about it.
no wonder i tried 2 wipe this from my memory...this stuff reeks..it smelled like urine 2 me b4 and it still smells like urine 2 me now..i don.t care how well this dries down because the opening is str8 pissy-alleyway-whiskey urination...sorry but that.s my opinion...

HOLY CRAP, BRANDON!!! My Pure Malt arrived today! I was so nervous, almost intimidated, to try it! I opened it up and applied three sprays! I couldn't stop smiling! This is my new #1 cologne (I have 18 total) and my new signature scent! The opening smell is just ORGASMIC, and the dry down is also amazing! I wish I could capture the opening scent and keep it forever! I've honestly never smelled any other cologne, or perfume, like this before! I can't wait to see how other will react.
@tonimudiwa You should definitely try it! My first bottle arrived today, and it KILLS the other 17 colognes I have, which includes brands like Bvlgari, Burberry, and Givenchy. Just be aware that some men also don't like how it smells on them. They discontinued wearing it, even though they did admitted to receiving lots of compliments from wearing it. So, it kind of depends on what your husband is willing to wear. I'm going to save up and by myself 2 backup bottles!

come on man, I know it's a good fragrance, but it's not that great, i was expecting heaven in a bottle after watching this, it's ok in my opinion WAY over hyped. I am not trying to turn anyone off of this stuff it's just my opinion, but I would not recommend blind buying this stuff, and you don't actually believe it was stored in whisky barrels do you? that is a marketing hype scheme believe me. Don't hate on this it's just my opinion, It really is not that great.
I didn't like this a whole lot when I first got it, but it's grown on me since then. It seems to last on me better than most other things, which is saying a lot because my skin tends to just drink cologne in and not let it out much.
@bboyhwoarang5 it's a really sexy and mature scent, go for it if you can pull off those type of scents. But it does smell nice and it's not like A*men or gaultier where you may hate it, it smells nice!!!!
Everyone go to "MuglerOfficial" the official channel of the guy that makes this, and comment on his channel page to not discontinue this awesome fragrance. If we really cared we would do something about it, because A*Men is phenomenal!
great reviews! after seeing this video i bought this cologne blindly and i love it! theres only one thing bothering me is that the projection fades a lot and fast. i asked a friend if she could smell it 3-5 hours after spraying it and she told me she only smells it when shes up close. could it be that shes just used to the smell? or is it just my skin?

Great job summing up what I thought altogether, though I didn't quite catch the berry top notes (I just smelled like a cheap drunk for 10-15 minutes *hah*). But once the dry-down hits, it's on point. Kudos to Mugler for the re-release.

1.How long does it take to dry down? I bought 3 bottles of this blindly off fragrancenet. $52.86 shipped (free shipping and 15% off). My only regret is that I didn't buy 5! It's everything everyone is saying it is. An extremely well balanced, equalized and sophisticated version of the original. Which I also love. Definitely flawless. If the notes in it and what you hear about it appeal to you, there's nothing in this fragrance that is done incorrectly. Hopefully the reissue sales spike inspires this to go permanent.

this only lasts about 6-7 hours. It might last 24 hours on his skin but on most people this will only last about 6 hours. Also the projection is moderate. its doesnt project like the Orignal a men
@bleachisgreat963 Yeah this is exactly what I'm experiencing also. It doesn't project at all and it lasts about 8 hours on me. I was wondering if there was something wrong with my bottle. Maybe the new bottles are watered down? One would think Pure Malt would project and last close to the original since it is the same juice from the beginning.
@Shirow66 in all honesty im gonna try the new bottles. Im gonna to the store and spary my self with it, if it doent last more thant 8 hours, im not going to but it. I prefer a A Men over this just becasue its lasts and projects better then Pure Malt. Granted pure malt smells better.. But whats the point of something smelling better if its projections sucks and it doesnt last long.

@nicon53204 -yeah im posting on my own post lol. what i get from this is the opening i get the wiskey and the berrys but i get more wiskey more than anything. as for the dry down i get nothing but caramel a very sweet caramel smells great and it lasts a very long time. its the best of the best. get it if you don't have it.

Just be aware that some men also don't like how it smells on them. They discontinued wearing it, even though they did admitted to receiving lots of compliments from wearing it. So, it kind of depends on what your husband is willing to wear. I'm going to save up and by myself 2 backup bottles!

come on man, I know it's a good fragrance, but it's not that great, i was expecting heaven in a bottle after watching this, it's ok in my opinion WAY over hyped. I am not trying to turn anyone off of this stuff it's just my opinion, but I would not recommend blind buying this stuff, and you don't actually believe it was stored in whisky barrels do you? that is a marketing hype scheme believe me. Don't hate on this it's just my opinion, It really is not that great.

I didn't like this a whole lot when I first got it, but it's grown on me since then. It seems to last on me better than most other things, which is saying a lot because my skin tends to just drink cologne in and not let it out much.

great reviews! after seeing this video i bought this cologne blindly and i love it! theres only one thing bothering me is that the projection fades a lot and fast. i asked a friend if she could smell it 3-5 hours after spraying it and she told me she only smells it when shes up close. could it be that shes just used to the smell? or is it just my skin?

First time watching this vid. Bought PURE MALT two months ago at a local Nordstrom. Far and away, the best scent in my rotation.
Great job summing up what I thought altogether, though I didn't quite catch the berry top notes (I just smelled like a cheap drunk for 10-15 minutes *hah*). But once the dry-down hits, it's on point. Kudos to Mugler for the re-release.

I missed my delivery of this and literally ran to the UPS up the street and picked this up, no lie. Dont get this twisted, this is HANDS DOWN THE BEST COLOGNE EVER!!! 1.How long does it take to dry down? Well when i first spray this...if i sniff from a distance i smell a very strong,unappealing,almost headache giving smell,but if i get right up to my wrists and smell it smells like berries covered in sugar and chocolate and it just smells Amazing. would tht b the dry dwn scent? 2.So When it does dry down, does it get very "straight to the point"sweet, or does it maintain that strong top note ? 3. dry down project well?

I bought 3 bottles of this blindly off fragrancenet. $52.86 shipped (free shipping and 15% off). My only regret is that I didn't buy 5! It's everything everyone is saying it is. An extremely well balanced, equalized and sophisticated version of the original. Which I also love. Definitely flawless. If the notes in it and what you hear about it appeal to you, there's nothing in this fragrance that is done incorrectly. Hopefully the reissue sales spike inspires this to go permanent.

this only lasts about 6-7 hours. It might last 24 hours on his skin but on most people this will only last about 6 hours. Also the projection is moderate. its doesnt project like the Orignal a men

Maybe the new bottles are watered down? One would think Pure Malt would project and last close to the original since it is the same juice from the beginning.

This was the response,
"Pure Malt will be available in September, exclusively at Nordstrom stores."
Which is great because I thought i was going to have to pay 100+ for this. Hopefully they will be online for sale soon again!!!
