  • glad he didnt poop when he was in your shirt.

  • This is stressful for me to watch.

  • @Silverws69 Try doing it if you think watching it is stressful

  • Just a suggestion here, I'm a herpetologist in South Africa and I have been working with venomous snakes for the last 22 years. De-clutter your work surfaces and work in an area that allows you to move freely. Is also stress free for the reptiles. It's dangerous the way you work. Good videos, keep them coming :)

  • @Chefofnote Old location...see the newer videos.

  • what snake in your collection would you say is the "nicest"?

  • @Marktim84 Nicest? In what way? Bites me but does not envenomate me?

  • @viperkeeper lol no, most docile, calmest.

  • @Marktim84 Water Cobras N. annulata

  • kinky naja naja! and awesome snakes you have!!!

  • Holy mother of god! Some strikes weren't too far away! Take care, i don't want to miss you on youtube! :D

  • @MrSchmithers They were not that close.

  • fuck m tht was dangerous

  • Mr coritz..If the cobra gets biten you,you first take antivenom or First aid ?

Because Antivenom can go up to allergical shoking ,isnt it??

Is it a option to hold cobras a little mit colder(maybe 20 Celsius) before you handle it,so they arent so agile and active??thanks for answering

  • @serkandelil First aid & left the ER doc give the A/V

  • OMG AL;THAt was soooooooo close!!!!!!UNBELievable how the cobra feels your thumbs coming over her head ....damn the attack in slowmotion shows how dangerous ,so intteligent,so meany,so kobralike this attack was!!!!!!!!!!!

    Unbeliveble...

  • It looks like this can be your death very close this Cobra had bitten you, do you think it good to take the risk?

  • @mrjian2hot4u Yes, I do think what I do is worth the risks.

Somethings going to kill me eventually.

  • @mrjian2hot4u RE: "It looks like this can be your death if this cobra had bitten you. Do you think its good to take that risk" It's frustrating reading how you wrote your comment.

  • i get quite a few laughs from your snake impressions :D . its quite amusing to see you handle the snakes, although i do wish you luck on avoiding the "pointy things" great videos :)

  • Wow, that was the closest I've ever seen you to getting bit Thankfully, your thumb was low enough that he missed.Stay safe Al.

  • you've got some serious balls right there!

  • Al, I really think you should get a bigger room.

  • XD

looks like u found some1 who doesnt like you very much^^

and yeah, im wonderin as well, why do u keep crickets???

  • Is it true that Boomslangs are like Copperheads in that while they are venomous, w/ treatment they are very rarely lethal?

  • Scary. I f you get bitten do you have antivenom for all these species? Please be careful!

  • why do you have crickets, i was under the impression that you only had poisonous snakes

  • @connjamm19 some baby snakes eat them

  • @viperkeeper Yes

  • I love how he threw a total Diva temper tantrum, especially when he climbed under the towel.

  • looks so funny the fight hahahahahah

  • Naja Naja I think is the most beautiful snake, and also very cool looking :)

  • these vids make me not want to sleep, i just want to watch one after the other some top class snakes, tho i think ill leave you to them, way out of my League lol

Thanks for all the Vids and stay Safe!!

  • "Now what did i say fokes about you verses holy sh*t" that was so funny x3 i love this video the best part is the part where you did it slow x3 love it

  • Al, are you building another facility?

It sure would be nice if you had more room to maenuver in.

It is tense at times watching you interact with your snakes as there isn't a whole lot of room for you to move around.

  • @minnesotajz : Was...ran into many complications....

  • @viperkeeper That is too bad. You have gotten so many positive comments on here and have a fan base that follows you and your beasties. It would be very nice to see you in an improved facility so you could do even more with your talents. It would be a great investment.

  • i see naja doesnt like to coaporate.

  • Thanks for the video Al i'm adding it to my learning library.

    That was a close call.

  • I have watched a ton of your vids and you are awesome sir! I really think you should have your own tv show! However I am a bit concerned that your room may be a bit small esp when the mean naya comes out to play :( I fear for you

  • What do you do with venomous snakes? Are you able to collect venom for the scientists that are working on figuring out what it could be medically used for? Egyptians used venom medicinally as I understand. I hope you are still alive!

  • MOLA

  • Hi al,

by looking at my question "which one could be your destiny" maybe its this one. Be careful.

The second you put your eyes off the head is just the second the snake try its best to get a bit finger.

  • naja thinking "one of these days AI one of these days your gonna get it"

  • Holy crap! Lol I thought I was tough when I had to remove stuck caps from my cranky boa c. Amarali. I think I'll stick to the boid family haha. I love you're videos keep'em coming! Oh yeah, and keep you're fingers out of cobras mouths lol good luck viperkeeper!

  • woah! :O your vids are extremely epic win dude, how many snakes do you have?

  • That changes weekly.

  • Has the cobra gotten over it yet?

  • Yeah, he's back to feeding.

  • Scariest YouTube vid I've ever seen. No need to apologize for the profanity. I would've said that and more if a large python came at me like that!

  • "his weapons are coming back online" haha!!

  • Darn Al that was impressive you moved the thumb just in time. Love how it looks like you moved it on purpose and didnt even break a sweat.

  • Al, how would you go about doing an eye cap removal on one of your large bitis snakes?

  • They seldom have eyecap issues but it would be very simular to my tick removal video "Ticked Off"

  • That Cobra incident was way to close Al. Your thumb was only millimeters from that fang. I'm glad you're ok.

  • Yes, I know how close it was, I was there!

  • I bet you had to change your undies after that encounter.

you handled the situation rather well I thought.

  • Panic kills....I hardly broke a sweat....

  • Well here in the states I deal primarily with crotalids. but back in Oz I worked with everything from Acanthophis to Notechis to Oxyuranus (not to mention all the Pseudechis in between.)

  • Finally ... you allow to embed the Video. Now I can look it at my TV in my Living Room. Please allow embed video in the future ! Nice Video... as always ;) I check every day for a new one. Thank you !

  • good snake keeper.....

not a very good snake handler.....

  • A typical comment from a 20 somthing man with more testerone than brians and experience.

  • @viperkeeper

    Hey, I'm 20 something! ;)

    Another great vid Al. Thanks!

  • Yeah, many of us were 20 something once.

  • how many snakes do you own? im pretty sure he has got you on the experience factor

  • What kind of snake Boomer? The one that is going to the zoo? It was really cool to see him drink water when you were misting! How often do you feed, for example, the Moorish viper you fed in this video?

  • Boomslang, The most lethal of the "rear fanged" Colubrids. As for feeding it depends on the age and how active the snake is. The Moorish viper is fed about every 10 day

  • How meany snakes do you have now? :)

  • All my snakes are "meanys"

  • Outstanding as always Al. You really got the old ticker beating fast during some of the hairier moments!

  • @10jakethesnake get your vocabulary, spelling, and grammar straight before you ask such a silly question...

  • That too...

    VK

  • It is not a poisonous snake. It is a venomous one. Poison is ingested, venom is injected.

  • he has, but he hates talking about it because to many ask him. If you watch more of his videos he tells you hes been bitten. He also says he doesnt like people asking him because its unrelavant to his videos because it would probably take him days to tell everyone that ask, yes hes been bit.

  • Thanks...

    VK

  • I bet if 99% percent of people tried to do this 99% would be in hospital right now.

  • Alcually I was pretty close to being in the hospital....NEVER underestimate their desire to bite you.

  • "Hi God! Boy, I feel stupid!"

  • Always an entertaining video.

I wondered what the crickets were for..feeder lizards?

I would have given you 5 stars but the ratings are disabled.

    *****

  • Sorry...I enabled them now...Thanks..

    VK

  • Al,

Do the flexible ribs that form the hood on the Naja sp. Make it harder to grip them when you have to aid them in shedding and such?

  • No, those muscles are too weak.

  • Thanks for the reply! You have to have some sort of patience to sit and answer all these comments!

  • It drives me nuts sometimes.

  • But you are really educating people!

  • The crickets were for the Vipera renardi

  • Could you do a video of V. renardi eating those?

  • They are now eating pink mice.

  • The cobra tail under the shirt was interesting. It looked like you had an alien trying to get out from under the skin of your back. :) Sweet video - another heart pounder!

  • That part had me pretty worried. You never want the snake to get a good hold on you if you can help it. If you have to ditch them in a hurry, having half of it in your shirt gives it one heck of an anchor point to come back around at you!

  • I have the same cell phone as u. Good Fight ;)

  • Very good video, well pissy cobra.

  • It notes that do not get bored eh! I miss a hair to bite you that naja naja.

  • Hi Al. Will we be able to see anything of the Mambas any time soon? I sure do like them guys.

  • Yeah..have Jamisons Mamba segment in the mixed bag up in one week.

  • Jeez, guess that's one of the nine lives gone. Inspired use of slo-mo as well.

  • I'm sure you've been asked this before, but I want to know:

Why not go to a law enforcement/security store and buy some gloves with Kevlar in them?

  • They don't work.

  • Looks like you could use more room to move around. Especially with a snake like that. :) Best of luck Al.

  • you put extra vitamines on the mouse ? what you do with the snakes you lend them to the zoo or sell ?

good luck not gtting biten :)

  • No....both

  • ok ty ;)

  • About him versus holy shit? .... not sure, I don't think he heard you about that one ;) lol. Glad he didn't get you.

  • Moving Boomer would be interesting. Do you have it on tape?

  • no, actually was easier than this guy.

  • So if a cobra makes your hands tired, would something like gabby just be impossible to handle?

  • Al, how do you treat towels and whatnot that get venom on them? Just throwing it in the wash denatures it or do you need to bleach it?

  • They all get bleached...not that I'm worried about venom....more to stop viruses & bacteria.

  • Yikes !

Always an interesting debate, hold the snake with the weak hand, and have the full mobility of the strong hand with the tweezers, or, hold the snake with the strong hand, and use the tweezers with the weak hand, and have less control and mobility.

Being ambidextrous in a situation like that would be a great advantage.

  • Wheres Boomer moving on to? We'll miss him. (after all he's missed you every time)LOL. Be careful moving that one....

  • He's at a Zoo, no worries I have another one for a Zoo...

  • Al, you are looking good have no idea what you did but you are losing weight big time. You had me on "pins and needles" watching this video. Could be a "stupid" why do you need to remove eye caps?

    Tasha.

  • One that had two was looking infected...had to go... Yes, I'm losing some weight, thanks

  • Eye Caps are formed when the snake sheds, basically it leaves a hard shell over the eye, so it's best to remove them to ensure they don't get infected, it's also gotta be pretty uncomfortable for the snake

  • Seems like the cobras give you more grief than just about anyone.

  • Nice, the cobra's got spunk.

  • Is that Naja Naja the most difficult cobra you've worked with ? he sure looks like a handfull.

  • They all are nuts to work with.

  • Question about the detached fang. I've heard urban ledgends about cowboy boots with broken

snattlerake fangs still in them. Is a secondary envenomation from a broken fang possible? What's the shelf life of dried venom? Would there be a difference between hemotoxins and neurotoxins?

  • not very likely.

  • I was reading an article on this subject, I think it was on one of the venomous forums. Someone mentioned that any venom left in the fang would be a negligible amount. Guessing off the top of my head, I'd bet snakebite taking the blame for a spider or scorpion envenomation. They love shoes.

  • Had that debate before....unless it's one of the super hot Aussy snakes, getting stuck will not cause envenomation IMO

  • @maarakailet1. still even if it is a very very small amount would you want it in your blood stream? I dont think I would.

  • WOW!! Alright Al, That was waaaay to CLOSE!! If you had one more layer of skin on that thumb, he'd would have had that right fang in you!! I was watching you move that thumb under his bottom lip to advoid the mouth, but then I noticed his fangs, ever so close to the top of your thumb, where it meets your hand. Also had he decided to chomp down at that time, he would have had certainly bitten you! That's asclose as I've seen you come to getting bitten so far, I'm so glad it did'nt happen ~Lee

  • Oh that was way too close! Keep those fingers away from the naja next time 8)

So cute with that excited snake! Whipping his tail and stuf! Great video as always!

  • The same damn problem always happens with my monocled cobra... So far I had to remove the eye caps three times on the little bugger... Yesterday he finally managed to perform a perfect shed... Maybe he's learning...

  • Glad to see you didn't get tagged. I just recently started watching your videos and I'm trying to find those I haven't seen yet. I'm actually afraid of snakes but they intrigue me aswell. I like your videos a lot. Cheers from Sweden where we only have one venomous snake in the wild thank god... :)

  • Hahahah. I definitely believe the profanity was justified. :D

  • lol its total chaos on the table. He knocked over everything! lol

  • Wow, that mauretanica is really hyper and caudal luring at the same time.... Awesome.

  • Sweet video. - Naja-naja was a little TOO close for comfort. - I think when you moved your thumb, which is what pissed him off.

All in all, top video Al!

A question about the Moorish Vipers...Are these an endangered species?

  • I think the M. deserti is protected

  • wow, that was scary, he did not like that at all

  • What do you feed the crickets too?

  • Baby Vipera renaldi

  • @viperkeeper Interesting. I didn't know their were venomous snakes that eat insects.

  • Lot of snakes eat insects

  • I just watched the part of ouu being very lucky.. You must have had the hardest adrenaline burst at that moment! At least I would!! Such close calls sometimes even hurt a bit .. and makes you feel alive.. Don´t get me wrong..I don´t think it was a adrenaline shock that would be fun or cool

  • No adrenaline burst at all...a but sweaty..all in a days work.

  • That was a very close call, but I'm glad to know that viperkeeper will live to see another day.

  • Hahahaha 6:14. =D

  • those Naja naja´s indeed have large fangs. the male I had was large and when he was eating you could see them clearly. Nice vid as allways Al.

  • I don't think people would care if you'd swear on your videos, your videos are still awesome.

  • man do you no how to handle these snakes haha

  • 1st nice video
