Good stuff! Yes, get the books--both Ports of Hell and Strike's short story collection, A Loud Humming Sound Came from Above. And by all means, Crime's 2007 album Exalted Masters, featuring "Clown Bitch" and other great songs.

Johnny Strike: an original, punk noir voice with a great reading voice. His evocativeness can draw you into a setting -- whether you want to be within it or not. It's a crime he's not more well known. Furthermore, his band CRIME rock 'n' rumbles. Sala's crusty illustrations serve to enhance the seediness, as well. Strike is a direct literary descendant of William S. Burroughs -- without being a slavish imitator. Check out Ports of Hell. Add CRIME's San Francisco's Still Doomed to the shop cart.
