@cuterlyboy You can use it, but it's not recommended. One of the reasons that Zippos use naphtha is because it also provides a slight lubrication on the wheel. When you use alcohol the wheel is very prone to getting stuck.

regular HEET is made mainly from methanol. U probably shouldn't use it, Methanol has a high toxicity in humans.. It can be absorbed directly into your skin where it breaks down into other compounds and attacks your optic nerves.. blinding you..

@wssdrizzt does it really? i work in the chemistry building at my ollege and i handle that shit on a regular bases with out gloves... when your working with a 46 liter batch of and methanol based solution or solvent spills tend to happen.. i was never told about this.... makes me nervous
