are these headphones good for all genres of music. I manly listen to rock music but do enjoy other genres of music with moderate bass too. I say this because I tried the dr.dre beats today and thought they were awful when it came to any of type of music that wasn't bass heavy.

Hey! I'm new to headphones, I've always listened trough those small headphones that you stick in your ears. And I wonder if anyone could help me pick cheap and good headphones that looks nice to. It would be good if they are under $50.

It's also good if they are wireless but it doesn't matter very much. And they should work with my iPhone 4.

for all those who buys headphones, plug them in, and immediately complain about the poor bass, there is a burn-in period. After a little while they will start to sound better and eventually reach peak performance.

I just bought the white one today. Im so dissapointed coz of the poor bass and low volume. But for the quality, it works fine. I can say that Skullcandy has higher bass response than Sennheiser, but for the overall quality, go for sennheiser.

Im not impressed, aside from everyone being all "omfg, their awesome, so comfy, and their so sleek" the volume.... sucks... their horribly quiet, and i wouldn't recommend buying them if you being able to hear your music over the sound of a fly buzzing. i broke $20 headphones, and got these as a replacement, side by side, their about 40% the volume of my $20 ones.

I bought my white hd228 and connected it to my ipod. I just got it today. but the max volume isnt that loud, and im quite unsatisfied coz it doesnt give that magic volume kick. does yours go super loud?

@StarComet28 Sounds like you have a problem with your ipods amp, or your hearing. I'd suggest you pick up a cheap Fiio amp or a cMoy.

Thanks for the review, I'm getting a pair of 228's now. I wasn't if you asked for reccomendations of over ear headphones or in ear: Sony xb300 over ear headphones (around £30) OR Sony mdr500ex lp high performance in ear headphones (around £70 expensive I know, but they are worth it) Sony's headphone range is brilliant. Hope this helps!

it doesn't leak that much just don't put them on full volume. i tried to show it in the video. i use them on train and no complaints so far :)
