  • not the emp i was looking for...

  • I got mine 2 weeks ago. The silver model in 9mm with the Cocobolo wood grips.

It's a total sweetheart. Fired 150 rounds of federal 115gr FMJ and 50 rounds of Federal 147gr HST JHP with zero issues. 2" grouping at 7 yards no problem!

  • Just got mine with the G10 rubber grips. Three magazines are supplied now, and are great. I shot about 180 rounds after a good cleaning. No hiccups at all!

  • It's not an auto pistol... It's a semi-auto pistol. Stop giving the anti gunner an excuse and stop confusing the novice!

  • anyone notice the spydie at 3:43?

  • what accent does this guy have? he says "compact" kinda weird

  • Nice video.

  • The video was informative. The music was tranquilizing, lol.

  • Time to start saving up.. An incredible pistol at not such an incredible price. that's my take on it anyway.

  • I have this pistol. It is the sweetest shooting pistol I have ever fired! And it looks as sweet as it shoots.

  • The more I see this pistol...

    I'm getting dehydrated from drooling.

  • @CaLiKiLLaz96 luv u

  • Great review!

  • Anyone know if the actual width of the grip is the same? I noticed the mag has that same indent running down it's length.

  • aww i thought they had launched an emp over some 3 world country ore something...^^

  • I would like to know how much more notable the muzzle rise is on the .40 version. I palmed one at a gun show and it felt so natural in my hand. The diminished size front to back of the grip frame is noticeable and welcome.

  • in soviet russia emp destroys u

  • @dylbyl1234 its always been that way

  • @illz302 Anyone interested enough to be viewing a three-year old video deserves an answer. The holster is called the Jak Slide model and is made by Galco. Not too expensive, conceals well and is reasonably fast. I like its versatility. This one is made for 1911s but I have used it with several other similar sized autopistols such as a Browning HP, and even a Ruger Mk. II .22 once while hunting.

  • Dear Santa...

  • nice pistol

  • i'll stick with my xd45 for now. i wonder what the damage is on something like that. price and impact, lol.

  • jesus christ people google it, in this case EMP does not stand for Electro-Magnetic Pulse, it stands for Enhanced Micro Pistol

  • @SomeRandomName00 lmao thats a good one

  • EMP stands for electromagnetic pulse made for taking out electrical apliances

  • @awsomevids2u Your stupid its part of the name of the gun....

  • this guy did a great job . What the video layout.

  • i thought emp stand 4 Electro-magnetic pulse

  • @itinkgirlzhot12

played too much mw 2 uh?

  • @DerKlotzAmBein Its a legitimate statement. EMP does mean Electromagnetic pulse. BUt it also can mean other things. Its just an acronym. I normally trash the MW2 people too but that wasn't that bad.

  • it does....

  • thats an emp gun? it looks like it fires bullets though.

  • omfg just listen from 0.19 to 0.20

  • its does its not an emp gun a real one is a nuclear weapon thats a firearm

  • yeah

  • @mrtampenski Huh? nuclear weapon thats a firearm? an EMP is a nuke that is detonated in the upper atmosphere.

  • Looks like The Engineers pistol off Team Fortress 2

  • @MrCssPwnage theres alot of pistols that look like that

  • @hyperrboyy but it is small and short like his

  • I love this gun, but it is really heavy for CCW. although not as nice a glock 26 is wasy more versitile. i.e 10-15-17-33 round mags. Just my opinion.

  • cuzimaluzer77 , thats too much, I paid 995 for my Speingfield EMP 40 cal

  • i got a brand new p226 for 680

  • just saw and held this gun today, but it was in 40 cal. it was priced at $1300. is that too high cause i am extremely interested.

  • shaokem, you are correct, they started with the 9mm, waited quite a while before they put out the 40S & W and then was going to put out the 45cal but it got scraped. I guess they figured after they made the Springfield EMP 40 S&W they may as well quit at perfection.

  • saw it today.....the emp 40 that is. instantly fell in love. couldn't believe how well it fit my hand and how light it was. everything about it was beautiful......and yes very near to perfection.

  • I love the gun. Too bad you can't have it in Ma.

  • then move to a non communist state.

  • its so small,

  • @drivepro And that's the idea!!!

  • thats what she said.....?

  • @cuzimaluzer77 now your getting it..

  • EMP is mostly known as a electro magnetic pulse bomb AKA the EMP.

  • EMP

  • The new Springfield Armory Enhanced Micro Pistol (EMP) is the first production 1911 made to shoot short cartridges like 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 GAP. Ther's alot on the internet about a break in period for the Springfield EMP. I own a EMP in 40 cal. and have'nt had a single problem with the first 400 rounds. I have only shot the winchester white box, which u can get at walmart for 31.00 box of 100. Does anyone have the Springfield in the 45 cal and how does it shot?

  • superfanEMP, the EMP does not come in .45 cal, GAP or ACP. They'd have to redesign it to fit a .45acp and the GAP cartridge is crap. If you want a 3" .45 from Springfield look into the "micro."

  • Springfield was going to make a EMP .45 GAP. But they scrapped the plans and focused on the 9mm and the 40SW.

  • @superfanEMP

I got the light weight operator and it runs like hell. 500 rounds so far without a glitch.

  • I thought This was Electromagnetic Pulse?

    That's pretty cool gun though.

Only In American citizens carry guns.

  • emp=electro magnetic pulse

  • i heard these come in 9mm, 40 s&w and .45acp cant deside between one of these or the kimber ultra cdp.

  • If money is no problem, Kimber.

  • No they only come in 9mm and .40 s&w

If you really want .45 acp you'll have to get the Kimber.

Finnish is also wrong as both the EMP and the Ultra CDP II run about the same price. You'll spend $1000-1100 on either.

I went through the same decision and went with the EMP. I liked the way it felt better and 9mm through a 3inch bbl is easier to get back on target than .45acp is. Plus 9mm ammo is cheaper so practicing will cost you less.

  • ya i realized after posting it i was wrong. supossaly in a review i read its offered in the .45 gap carterage but on there website its not one of the options.

  • Good memory. It was initially designed for the .45GAP, but the response to the gun, and the GAP cartridge was not positive. SA scrapped the GAP idea and changed somethings on the EMP and released it as it is. The GAP cartridge is obsolete and pretty much a failure.

  • ya I never got the whole concept of the .45GAP. hits as hard as a .40s&w but is .45 caliber kind of not needed. about as useful as the FBI loading of a 10mm lol.

  • i paid 995 thru gunbroker. looked everywhere for the EMP 40 cal and that was the only place that had one

  • Does it feed reliably?

  • have put 250 rounds thru the Springfield EMP 40 cal without any trouble If you want to make them mad shot them with a 9mm or if you want to put a end to it shot a 40 caliber It has more knock down power than a 45

  • .40 is just a 10mm for wimps.

  • NO, the 40 caliber is simply the best ,try doing some reseach

  • FBI contracted S&W to develop the .40 because their weak hands couldn't take the manliness of the 10mm. 10mm is superior. You do your research.

  • if the 10mm is such a good round then how come all but one compainy makes it in the full loading of 700ish foot pound of energy. and also how come only colt deltas and 2 glocks come chambered in it???

  • you talk about one sweet shooting pistol , have put 100 rounds thru it with no ploblems at all, very accurate

  • just bought a EMP in the 40 caliber

  • how much did u pay for it?

  • 9mm is by far the best caliber for personal defense. it has just the right power to stop people dead in their tracks, its light and easy to shoot. the USA is fixed with the notion bigger is better.

  • damn I think I'm going to have to save for this one

  • if i can ever get out of CA im definitely going to get one of these for CCW

  • GIMME ONE PLZ XD

I got to shoot some broken Lcd Screens

  • I saw one of these at Cabela's new. It was 1150 or so. The fit and finish was flawless. I am saving up for one. Nice gun.

  • I like the Kimber but from what I have read its junk.

  • kimer is amazing, but recently they've been a bit sloppy. All can be changed with a couple letters to the business. Never discount the impact a single voice has on the quality of a company's quality; you're usually not alone.

Either way, they're alright except they use way too many MIM parts IMO. Strangely some of the best recent 1911s I've seen are made by Sig Arms. Try the RCS, it tickles my fancy.

  • this gun almost brought tears to my eyes it's just so beautiful and well made i i just have no words for this gun it's simply perfect

  • 1:48 ftw

    random trance, with guns,lulz

    i came

  • Note to those that think 9mm is not much to look at. Once I put two in your chest you won't really care what caliber it was..Epic Pain.....

  • Who DID ask you, crazyphil?

  • If you chamber a 1911 in 9mm its almost like not being american LOL XD. in reality the 9mm has almost the equivilant of recoil compared to the .45 acp ( when in a proper stance and grip). My father has a Kimber Tactical 2 chambered in .45acp and when i shot it at the range against his service Sig Sauer p228 in 9mm, the 9mm seemed to have more recoil. Just goes to show that the .45 acp is very controllable, even in the the hands of a teenager.

  • The point of making it 9mm was to make the pistol as small as possible. Size took priority over firepower in this gun and it turned out great.

  • what's the price?

  • the price is umm (chokes) $1329.00 msrp thats about the price of a nice lwrc ar-15 rifle a nice joke from springfield if you ask me.

  • I actually tried this one a year ago and it was a great litle gun, but a 9mm 1911 in a pocket is just something I cant do. Solid gun though.

  • I love the soft mellow guitar music that's accompanied by rapid fire XD.

  • LOL! thats exactly what I was laghing at hahahaaaaaa

  • c'est trop moooooche !! ça gâche l'image du Colt 1911A1 !

  • what a beautiful gun

  • How much are they?

  • Thats some great grouping with a 3in barrel. anyway most encounters happen 25 yards or less, so no worries here, but I'd rather have the WMP chambered in .45AUTO.

  • lol i thought someone was gonna set off a small emp and fries his equipments but this pistol shows up

  • Really

  • Owned emp for less than 6m. Has had to send back to Springfield Armory twice due to failure to fire factory Winchestor and was sucking brass into firing pin chamber. Great gun when it works but that alone makes it a horrible gun. I wish I could get my money back

  • so did you figure out what was the problem that cause the malfunction?

I just bought my in march but havent fired it yet and i hope that doesnt happen to mine.

  • whatever it was d00d00dumb87 they fixed it. For what I spend on guns and ammo they better had. Anyway all things considered NOW THAT ITS WORKING it's my favorite handgun for too many reasons to mention.

You are going to love it. I'm already thinking of what to get her for her birthday LOL

  • Hell I don't even have to guess what was wrong with it, low quality ammo. Switch to Blazer Black.

  • Are you nutz? low quality ammo???? I was shooting factory Winchester!!! For $1000 that gun should shoot marbles. Anyway they repaired 1000 factory Winchesters later - still no problem SO IT WAS THE GUN not the ammo

  • i just bought this gun few days ago and it is the shit !

  • $1400 south eastern US gunshow pricing

  • pricing?

  • I want one thats cool.

  • I thought emp means electro magnetic pulse which is used for destroying electonics

  • me too

then again, 9 mm emp cartriges are impossible

  • it is, but in this field iguess it means something else

  • Great job, info and video. Thank you

  • Very complete presentation,small size,and nice quality.

  • With similarly sized micro .45ACP 1911s available I'm having trouble seeing the sense in buying one unless ammo cost and recoil are your primary considerations.

  • Interesting question. One possible answer may be that micro-sized .45's are not terribly reliable. I'm not trying to incite a riot here but many of us who have owned compact size .45 ACP 1911's have experienced FTF, or FTRB conditions that make you question the wisdom of making a .45 ACP 1911 too small. The EMP allegedly was designed from the ground up to use the 9 mm round. Of coarse a purist would say that the EMP isn't a spec compliant 1911.

  • Good looking pistol.

  • 1 minute wasted

  • meh

It doesn't stand for Electromagnetic Pulse, so that's a disappointment.

  • I need one..it will help me trust in people.

I have been assaulted by four Mt Druit Aboriginal thugs for no reason, im sick of it, They also smashed my motor home windows..it was lucky i made out alive. Austrilia suxs how we cant even buy Capsicum spary for protection. Where does one go to get a under the counter pistol in Australia?,(Cenral coast, Gosford? a lead would be appreciated) I promis to use it for law enforcment only.

  • Buy a machete or a riot baton from the army surplus stores.

  • i want this handgun!

  • Uzi554, well said! even though in Australia, its bad enough that you cannot buy guns "over the counter" , I still believe that guns dont kill people, its the person who is aiming it at another person who is the killer.

  • Yes you can, you just need a licence. Just like a car... though we can't carry a pistol for self defence, must be locked up when not in use.

  • thats shit i reckon... i mean, i want to buy a gun for defence, but what am i going to tell the crim? 'hey thanks for mugging me just now and killing my girlfriend. can you stay here for 30 minutes so i can go home and open up 3 safes to get my gun?'

  • its baad and cute :D

  • I WANT THAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • ME TO :)

  • Lulz, EMP also means Electromagnetic Pulse <,<;

  • no shit.

  • nice vid

  • Hey Dudleswawa,

I think you are just a snobbish Brit. "Oh, look at me; I have no gun crime in my country." I know we have shitty gun laws, but at least we have guns. It's not guns that cause crime it is shitty laws. Just look at Switzerland; they have more guns than we do and have NO gun crime. God damnit! I hate people who are too far to the left!

  • could not of said it better myself!!

    damn Brits!!!!!

  • Hey Uzi554, very well said. I hate the fact that most brits were so easily brainwashed into believing guns are bad. We lost a fantastic sport!

Just dont put all us brits in the same basket. We're not all brainwashed, whingeing sheepal :)

  • what channel is the handgun thing??

  • I am picking one up today. I hope it was worth the C note more than a grand.

Regardless, you have to admit that it is a sexy beast! ;-)

  • Man I want one of those sssooooo baddd! But they are like 2,000 bones!

  • Perfect Review I think I know what my wfe should get me for Christmas.

  • gotta luv the time and tested 45acp....

i have nothing bad to say about the 357 sig also.

  • It's even better for preventing someone from killing you, your wife, your children, your friends, or even complete strangers. Gun control is simply the basic idea that an unarmed woman is easily raped and beaten, rather than having an armed woman fend off an attacker... we are "Gun Mad" because armed citizens are the reason we even have a country in the first place.

  • Personaly I like to go to a nearby ranch with a couple of friends. Get a couple of rounds of beers, then play shoot the apple off my head. Who ever shoot the person, now victim, hospital bills.

I also like to get into knive fights at my local bar once a week.

  • lol

  • Anyone know what brand of 9mm cartridges is he putting in those magazines?

  • black hills blue box ammo.

  • the music almost lets you forget this is about a weapon

  • are springfield armory pistols double or single action?

  • This is a 1911-style pistol, and they're all single action (except Para's LDA series, which aren't real 1911s).

I wouldn't say 9mm is for girls, but I'll sure say that I carry a .45 ACP. Carry what you can control. If that's 9mm, so be it. I like my 230gr slugs.

  • i have a springfield armory of 10mm is very fun, and it cost is very cheap.

  • not necessarily. some people prefer placement than higher calibers.

  • yeah it might be if you can spell G...I...R...L...S right.

  • what th eheck is a gril?

  • meh to

  • Yeah, that would have been cool, an EMP gun that shuts stuff down.

  • is emp available at asia?coz im from philippines..i love to have one..

  • the springfield 1911 emp or compact size is the only pistol id pick over a glock....

  • Agreed. I wish I could affored one...that is why I am getting a glock26. 1100-1300 is too much for me...500 sounds better :)

  • I want one, but the price is so steep. Why Spring Field, why?

  • quality my friend

  • Does anyone know what the profit margins are like on handguns these days? Could these prices be artificially inflated?

  • i suppose that the fact that pistols are concealable might have something to do with the price. but theres also ALOT of machining involved in pistol making.

  • Artificially inflated as a deterrent. I'll have to look into this.

  • Vacuum cleaners? We don't need no stinkin' vacuum cleaners! Seriously though we Americans love our guns! You folks from other "places" in the world mind your own business and stop butting into America's. Personally I own 7 handguns including the EMP. It's a sweet pistol. I *love* guns and I'm going to get more!

  • No, the 1911 style .45's only come in fullsize.

You could try an XD though.

  • It's so cute. I was going to get myself a 1911 once my pistol permit comes in, but I might see if I can get one of these for my CCW permit.

  • This is truly a beautiful firearm and i would have purchased it if i hadnt gotten a Kimber .45.

Hopefully it will be my next.

  • thus that kind of gun is available in asia?

  • I dont think so.
