  • México & California, hermanados - el mariachi de Autlán y su banda; tres percususionistas, órgano y dos guitarristas, puros jóvenes que solo querian hacer buena música y pasar un buen momento. Pura cajeta este jam.

  • Santana's music 4 ever!

  • When Santana was young he looked like Ozzy from Survivor.

  • @ WaveRoofer Hey, just FYI, Neil Schon wasn't on Abraxas. Gregg Rollie was, but III was Neil's only Santana album before he N Gregg split to form Journey. GREAT video! Thanks for posting it!!

  • Sally, Neal and Greg were both on the record that followed Santana III as well. It was called Caravanserai. This was a good record, but the songs were not as powerful as on Santana III, IMHO. But it's worth listening to if you like that version of the band, definitely!!

  • Gregg Rollie, Neil Schon..went on to form Journey later

  • saw them in Germany 1971, amazing...Coke Escovedo is Sheila E's dad, thse guys don't ever stop

  • bigo;bigo ;sabol; the eternal powers of the magnified universe the align ment of the planets the black magic woman crying breasts song of the wind and percussion.que pasa mi amigo the fillmore still echoes the beat of sanfrancisco thanks brother grahamn. we are trying in the south gracious senor santana.

  • welcome;santana band; song of the wind. bueno w,y,a,y, 106 ga. waves within walk dont run ron estrada and coke escovedo the percussion side of the santana band marbles. creating a lava flow of music at diamond head crater to the texas border with buddy miles the percussion santana bica bica sabol.

  • I could've played like that once...but then I took an arrow in the knee

  • Does someone say, "Wait, I have to take a shit"?

  • Jungle Strut!

  • Niel is kachoeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Thanks a lot, this is a historical document!!!

  • I didn't know Wolfman Jack played organ in Santana.

  • 4:51 Super !!!1 .

  • Nice find man - Santana in the groove !!! .

  • Masters of rhythm....viva Carlos Santana.

  • whoever compares Journey with Santana clearly needs to fine tune their ears...not that Neil was outshining Carlos, perhaps he wanted to play a different style...Journey style? and to me, Carlos was so cute when he was young, just sayin'

  • More cowbell. More cowbell, man. We need more cowbell.

  • Thanks for posting this marvelous piece.Yeah, you keep looking at the hair ...

  • By far many just dont understand Carlos. If you look at both of they're faces its player and mentor. Carlos' intentions were to let all of his band members freedom to explore they're visions. Schon and Rolie had wonderful careers with Journey and made rock history. Do you really think Jouney would have ever been without the openess of Carlos Santanas to all music contribution. I see two guitar players making music and frieking loving it.

  • It looks to me like Coke Escovedo on cowbell.

  • wow Carlos Santana, gorgeous Gregg Rollie, and Neal Schon all on one stage!

  • @lancetop You hit the nail on the head, Gregg was (and still is) gorgeous, you have excellent taste !!

  • I wonder if thats Mike Bloomfields les paul. maybe he hadn't gotten it from him when this was filmed. ??

  • Greg Rolie org,voc,wolfmanjack

  • Heads up people!

No one makes it on stage if you miss your appointment at Poodle Doos

    ~Bill Graham (on cowbell)

  • Man, this is a great tune written by sax legend, Gene Ammons!! I wish Carlos would abandon the commercial stuff he is doing and get back this classic sound!

  • neal schon is great but he will never be as good as carlos. carlos' guitar style is sexy neals isnt. plus neal ruined his rep by joining jouney. no self respecting man likes journey.

  • @MrGutentag69 neal is every bit as good as carlos and i love carlos to bits. why do you think they split up? cos schon was starting to outshine carlos and not getting the recognition for a lot of the songs he played on. a load of the stuff from the old days was in fact schon and not carlos.

  • @fredorulz1 Neal was known back then as the gun slinger bfor the way he played

  • @MrGutentag69 Someone clearly hasn't heard the first few Journey albums.

  • @JerryGTRVids thats what i always say! do the homework! lol

  • I love Neal Schon. Greg Rollie looked like a crazy man in this video. This kind of progressive rock may never be popular again but many of the members have remained successful through the years. This is an incredible collection of talent.

  • Unbelievable!!!! It is just too much to see this, growing up hearing this jam and always wondering what they looked like in a song with such guitar riffs from the original guitar Gods. Carlos And Neal Just nothing but kudos to WaveRoofer

  • Carlos is a pimp man,that's all I can say...amazing!!

  • Whomever posted this video... THANK YOU! I wish I could've seen this jam session live myself, but what a treasure. For those complaining about the quality... tech of the time is what it is... find yourself a Delorean and make it yourself, whiner. I hope for more of these videos, best quality withstanding, but I'm happy for the folks that have the love and respect to post. THANKS AGAIN!

  • used to watch beatclub every saturday afternoon, great how they always showed the line up. saw santana 1 month ago, still an amazing live act.

If you like this version of jungle strut check out the one on the soul to soul dvd, that really goes off!!!

  • yeah afro look ^^

  • LOL @ 2:40 "oops, I forgot someone was watching me"

1971. Magicans. los dos primeristas.

  • This recording is poor. The solo Carlos does at about 3 : 20 is mind blowing and you can't even hear it on this recording. I had this on VHS from Germany back in 86 and this CD mix is just awful. I am saying this so that hopefuly some one can post a good mix so every one can hear this amazing genius solo. I think it actually may have been off those really big DVD s that had in the 80s. It was the best of the Beat Club in DE

  • Neal Schon was like 17 yrs old maybe younger.

  • Man Santana is great!....

but I coulda used a little more Cowbell.

  • eaa santana & Neal Schon

  • Such great music!!!

  • wow there was chepito.....

  • Dude, the energy coming off this performance is amazing! Man, you can really feel everyone is clicking together!

  • Santana's percussion section is so awesome he has a dedicated cowbell player.

    :-D

  • Jungle Strut

  • @dann3th3manni3 Not much. More of an Cuban/Mexi strut

  • @chillichomper Jungle Strut is the name of the song.

  • Great

  • it don,t get know better than this

  • Santana's lack of ego in letting so many people shine from within his changing line-ups over the years - Man, Brother, Legend, Mexican-American wonder - you are a shining light, Devadip!

  • NEAL SCHON not Neil please :)

  • Danger Mouse on bongos

  • wasn't mike the drummer really young too? lol.

  • Schon is in another league from Santana.... Santana is one lame player these days.

  • The guy on the bongos looks like Bob Ross

  • Great song - tits at the end!

  • does anyone else think that carlos looks like kirk hammet here?

  • @aaronrobinson4 He looks like a mix of Kirk Hammett and Tony Iommi.

  • @aaronrobinson4 it's just the facial hair they have...it's the same : )

  • Great song and footage!!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • Great song and footage!!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • good song, but listen to toussaint l'overture (also from santana III and features neil schon as well) i think that song has better rhythm and better guitar work

  • Try to keep up Carlos. Neil is like 18 here or something. Nice of Carlos to let him take some leads, and they sound great when they play together. This is my favorite early Santana album. Greg looks like a wildman, all so very cool. I just missed this era by a few years, caught the tail end of it, but happy to have experienced the punk era as well. From 1965 to 1985, just an incredible period of music. Downhill ever since, with just a few flashes here and there.

  • Me encanta esta musica que hacía Santana,,ahora hace puro pop de 3 pesos.Esto es puro LATIN ROCK!!Yeah!!Me parece que este concierto fue en el Fillmore West,,es asi???o fue grabado para la television??

  • My father introduced me to this music... huge fan... always will be

  • This is a real good find! This is when Neaj Schon really shines on Santana III lp. THese cats were the original members with Neal coming in on the third album. I remembered when my hair was longer than Carlitos'. Neal was all over the album, but he never received any credits. SO sad but will always love this awesome jam and ol' skool Santana/Journey tunes.

  • This tune is called "Jungle Strut"

  • Neal's Fro rules!

  • Wow, when they do the solo rounds (Santana, Schon, Rolie), it's what I'd thought but I was never totally sure. THANKS for posting. This is GREAT!

  • things go better with Coke (E)!

  • thanks deluded

  • that is absolutely fab!!!!!!!!yes it is timeless and brill!!!!!!

  • @deludedperryfan1980 yo, its timeless.

  • my hair is almost as big as those one there. Michael is so so wicked.

  • Great post Dude, good to see Neal with the insane hair!

The song is 'Jungle Strut' from Santana 3.

  • A young Neil.. Looks like his son Miles......

Great video !! I will bet you Neil knew even then he would become one of the biggest names in the world for a rock musician.

  • u can tell the band was diggin his solos!

  • Wow, classic!

  • Even though Santana is a Pioneer in

creating a form of rock that incorporates

so many elements of latin music into

a hybrid of multi layered elements of

percussion and rhythm. I cant help but

notice on this particular song a rather

distinct influence from the Almann Bros.

  • That delayed bleed through effect is what happens when analog tape is wound backwards and stored for long periods. The song Whole Lot of Love from Zeppelin has same effect but it sounded cool so they left it like that.

  • What a rare gem! Jungle Strut with Neal Shon, totally awesome! Thanks man!

  • Amazing!

  • Fantastic!

  • jungle strut.

  • Beatclub....Nord Deutche Rundfunk Bremen....I guess it was !

  • riffing Miles at the start is cool; jack johnson!

  • anyone know what show this is from? Ive seen an exact one like this for king crimson same time period

  • Man. Girls are always jealous of my thick hair, but I still wish I had Neal Schon's

  • Can´t be better than this.."third album" is a top ten..Pity that Carlos guitarsolo is too low.
