Good to see i'm not the only one havin' this problem.. I mean I bought this card for £500 and I expected it to work with every game with-out any problems.. Bah.. I was so wrong just goes to show, because you pay good money doesn't mean it's good quality

actually flickering in a crossfire card such as the 5970 (which in reality is 5850x2) is usally caused by a faulty connection between the two gpus so from what i can see you HAVE go a faulty card as mine and everyone elses works purfectly, just send it back, its a pain but if you do it quick by xmas you should have a new fully working 5970 to play with :P
no its clocked at 5850 speeds, the 5850 uses the same core and chipset as the 5870, 5970 ect its just got a lower stock clock so its technically called a 5850x2
i had the same problem with you...i downloaded the latest version of the game and i puted v sync on and everything was fine.also put the fan on 50% and DONT enable manual fan speed control
well at least send it back to be tested, if you get a new card and your games dont work its probably the card lol, well you could try reinstalling or updating the drivers too, hope that helps
yes this is a crossfire glitch, i had the same with my 3870x2, my 4870x2 was fine, and i dont have this issue with my 5870. did you change the "m_gpu" settings in crysis?
I don't it's the cards problem. It's most likely a driver problem. If it were the card's problem, then there would be artifacts coming out everywhere, not flickering.

the 5970 may use the same core technology as a 5870 and a 5850 and even if it is underclocked, it is two 5870's in crossfire.

This happened to a graphics card I had a way back, I tried for weeks finding out a way to fix it but no luck.

did you monitoring your card temperatures ?
some anomalies can come in your card because the GPU are Overheating.
if the card temperatures are normal, you have to refund or replace your card, because that card what you get are broken one.
