Hi for a maiden voyage that was wonderful and very promising for the future. Can I suggest you smile more. Of course you were a bit nervous but that's natural.Your costume was super with lots of nice shimmer effect.
@MsTank1234 Thank you very much :D yeah I've been working on getting more comfortable infront of the camera so i have been working my way up to smiling some more compared to this video. lol i look so focused and serious in this one -_- lol have a great week!
LIAR! The fact is, that you're actually a belly dance instructor who decided to make a video showcasing your easy mastery of the dance! (^_-)
Seriously, you have a natural command of rhythm and body control that would fool anyone into thinking you've been doing this for a long time, as your comfort level easily translates into flawless motion with the music! Outstanding work, can't wait to see ya in 10 years!
@canababe25 hello! I pretty much just watched a youtube video, i'll send you the link, and it only took me about a month or so while i was in school, so i was pertty busy, but its pretty easy to memorize it :)
Very nice work, but when learning from YouTube its good form to credit the choreographer as well as the musicians. This choreo was originally performed (and posted on YouTube) by Amira Nagi of Samadhi.
did u take ballet or any dance classes before? a lot of videos i see of first time belly dancers are of people whove taken another dance class before usually ballet and they pick it up really fast like you. i bet if you took classes youd be reallly amazing. im 19 never took dance and just start belly dance and its really though becuase learning movements is one thing but when having the strenght to look relaxed and move your body correctly is so tough!
@blaint09 Oh i know what you mean! haha, and no I have never had any kind of classes. i really wished i had ballet classes, it was something i always wanted to do, but never got the chance to.
@kristinelizabeth23 what!!!! im soooooooooo shocked. i could take classes for years and not move my body like yours. I dont understand! everyone says bellydancing its easy but its not! how did u learn???
@blaint09 haha aww well thank you :D and yeah id have to agree with you 150% on that belly dancing is NOT easy haha. Im just self taught, i watch youtube videos and try to do what they do :) Keep on practicing and you will get there. you can see my improvement from just the three videos i have posted lol. Just keep on dancing and you will be fantastic :D
For your first time your really good. Try to relax your arms a little bit though. Try not to have your hands on your hips. :) And don't forget to have fun.
i didn't expect you to be this good! =] i actually enjoyed it! you look like you've taken classes, and i agree, the isolations you have are amazing! keep it up! and the layered shoulder shimmy with the undulation was really good, i know girls who have bellydanced for a few years and still can't get it down! only thing i noticed was when you put your hands on your chest and your hips, it's not really very bellydancer.. but hey if you want to incorporate it into your own unique style, go for it!
@colorfuldreams Thank you so much for the nice comment!! It really made me smile!! Belly dancing is pretty hard for me, so it's always nice to hear the nice things. And yah someone else mentioned the hands on chest and hips, lol i had no idea. but thanks for mentioning that to me, I for sure want to keep it as traditional as I can and not having a clue about belly dancing really makes me appreciate the feed back from people who know a lot about belly dancing. Thanks for watching!! :D
Very good for a beginner! ur Isolation is quite good already and it's great that u came up with this all on ur own! But allow me to give u some advice: try not to use ur upper body quite that much. In traditional oriental dance the Hips are normally used mroe than the upper body. And don't put your Hands on the Hips either, there are certain arm positions in Belly Dance. But apart fromt hat, really good, keep it up =) sweet costume by the way.
@MissManiacTheMad thank you so much! yah i know about the hips more than chest...lol my hips still need some work on. but thank you for all the advice! i really apriciate it, Its nice to get this kind of feed back from people that know their stuff about the art of belly dancing. Thank you for watching and again thanks for the feedback I will for sure use it on my next dance!
@RomaniaOrthodox Thank you :) and yah im going to work harder next dance. i rushed learning this dance way too much because you can really tell that Im just concentrating on what move comes next lol thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
could forget them. work on making sure they are crisp, clear, and only your hips are moving as you practice them. not only will your hip isolations improve, but your abs will become unbelievably strong and you will be able to do belly rolls and back bends with much more ease. also your arms and fingers were a bit too stiff during the hip drops. perhaps keep both your arms and fingers slightly more bent and relaxed. they should frame the movement without being too straight. best of luck! :D
@dancingonyourface thank you so much for all the feed back!! I really appreciate it!! I will for sure look into some other vids to get some help on my hips :) again thanks so much for watching and taking the time to write down some tips for me :D best of luck to you too!
so i'm also a youtube taught "belly dancer" and i've been on and off with it for maybe four years. much like everyone else who commented, i do believe that was a very nice video, with that being said, i figured i'd throw in some constructive criticism. your chest isolations were fab, but your hips weren't nearly as awesome so i'd suggest watching some of the "how to" videos on here and REALLY practice those movements until they become so ingrained in your body, that there's no way you...
Excellent and very lively dance... i like it... for how long have you been dancing...? how did you learn?... you need some practice and you will be better than Shakira :-)...
@thosecrazygals Thank you very much! and yes someday I can try to do that when Im a bit better :) subscribe so you can see it whenever I do get around to doing it :) thanks for the idea!
Hey! This was very good for your first belly dance! It's ok that you can't take classes...not everyone can and many dancers are self taught anyway. Just know that belly dance is best when it comes from your soul...Once you get your moves down, you won't even have to think anymore..It will be second nature to you.You really have potential!! Keep practicing! :)
Very good! But you should work on the arm movements
