  • "Derp" Rock.

  • I believe Kesha was actually an Attack of the 50 Foot Woman reference, although they could have used Kesha as a model.

  • 1:39, dig dug reference (i think) in window

  • Actually, that's not rick astley. That's actually a scene from the music video of another goldfish song, Fort Knox.

  • completely miss the bobobo-bo bo-bobo reference @4:00

  • @Nerroke it was both, and they actually note both. If you look at the box itself it says "The Orange" on it, which is the orange box reference. they Note that its a metal gear solid reference a few seconds later at 2:17

  • What? 2:!4 The orange box? it was from MGS

  • And they missed Felix the Cat, I think. Also, that last comment was made when I paused the video right before they mentioned Metal gear.

  • I thought The Orange was Metal Gear.

  • That's not Ke$ha, it's a boss from a game called 'Parodius' for the SNES.

  • 3:27 you mised tintin

  • The only thing that irritates me is the guy who keeps saying "Tetnoujin" instead of Hadouken. Sorry, I love my Street Fighter so it was killing me. lol

Anyways thanks for catching some of the missed references

  • YOU MISSED THE MINECRAFT REFERENCE

  • The giant orange Sonic robot reminds me of Don Patch (or whatever) from Bobobo

  • Kenny G's saxophone was a reference to nyan cat !!

  • 1:46 Scott Pilgrim?

  • 0:50 with storm troopers is also a reference to the 8-bit game Pooyan

  • I believe that is no Rick Roll on 0:45 It's just part of other Goldfish music video (Fort Knox) as everything on that backround screen. There is only 1 way it could be Rick Roll - They were trying to make Rick Roll reference in their Fort Knox video, which i doubt. But you found most of the references anyway, so congratulations :D

  • The ONLY thing that bugs me about this video is that 2:10 is not a reference to The Orange Box. It's actually a reference to Metal Gear Solid, as the cardboard boxes Snake snuck around in were labeled "THE ORANGE" in MGS 1/2.

  • You missed the Broland! at 4:07 their mixer is called Broland, which is of course a referrence to Roland :)

  • you missed felix the cat behind hello kitty in the smooth jazz club

  • 1:54 THERES NO KE$HA GAME!!!!

  • goldfish is awsome!

  • my eyes hurt

  • That dancing robot scene is for me pretty much the similar scene with dancing robots/shuttles in Red dwarf, somewhere at beginning of series 8

  • MVG, if you pause the music video at 2 57 in the original (during the sonic scene with 3 rings) you can see the words "Pew Pew", one on the tree and one on the third ring

  • I was trying to look for a nyan cat reference but i can only find kenny g on a saxophone shooting out rainbows

  • not much people know about

little big adventure or the neverhood :(

  • The giant robot is totally Don Patch from Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

  • 3 way picture @ 1:28 is for Persona when the do their team attack, the minecraft city, moon walk with micael jackson

  • I don't know about you guys, but that mech at the end that you said was sonic the hedghog reminded me more of that sun character from the bobobo manga.

  • Guy in the hat, stop talking like a morning show radio dj.

  • "derp" on the rock @ 1:02 and poke it with a stick @ 4:38

  • Yeah, you missed some but good job.

  • Comment removed

  • furious fish is supposed to be like angry birds :P I got that first time

  • Behind parappa the rappa at 3:31 is Claus from MOTHER 3

  • The "Robot Sonic" is Don Patch from Bobobo bo bobobo.

  • You forgot Jimmy from Jimmy two shoes. He is before the catus cat

  • the bubble bobble rock says "derp"

  • people, its not a rick roll. it's a scene from fort knox by goldfish. do some research next time

  • 3:53 looks to me like a "Effing Hail" reference, which would make it the only flash game in it.

  • Shaun the Sheep

  • 0:57 come on guys, we all know this is a reference of angry birds.

  • There's 64 reference. Perhaps a reference to Minecraft? (Verything stacks in 64ms?)

  • 1:52 scott pilgrim vs the world boss battle, thumbs up so they can see :_

  • @ 0:47 At the background, that is actually a scene from one of Goldfish's music videos, called Fort Knox, not a Rick Roll. Just pointing that out there.

  • the meowth (pokemon) mask is part robot. terminator reference?

  • that wasn't a rick-roll reference, it was a reference to a different music video of theirs (Fort Knox). if you look closely at the background at that moment, you can see other references to past music videos too.

  • this is a reference to a thing and a thing combined with a thing and a thing and another thing, I'm almost sure of it.

  • Wow, there are more references than I saw! Nice job!

  • I believe they missed about 16 references

  • You forgot star wars because of the stormtroopers.Or atleast you didn't put it on the side.

  • @waterdude125

Uh... well, right near the beginning they point out the stormtroopers so I don't think they missed it.

  • at 3:05 theres a refrence to south parks the brown note

  • When the "robot sonic" is smashing the police cars, it holds one and his hand say "ANDY", probably Toy Story Reference.

  • 3:52 in this video, top left of screen on the close-up ramp, reference in the background to 'SWORD AND SWORCERY'.

  • the furious fish is a part of angrybids

  • you forgot about the Dig-Dug at 1:41

  • When they hide under the cardboard box that says "The Orange," that's not a reference to Valve's The Orange Box, it's a reference to Metal Gear Solid 2. In the Tanker chapter, Snake finds a box that looks exactly like that.

  • In 4:01 isnt don patch from the anime Bobobo?

  • @zubamba actually it is by the looks of it

  • 1:39 Dig Dug

  • @MahaloVideoGames Pretty sure the Goldfish flexing at 0:53 is a Battletoads reference

  • Psssssh that's not Rickroll'd ! It's the guy in the video FORT KNOX... srsly...

  • Is Furious Fish a reference to Angry Birds? perhaps?

  • I think the whole pixelated explosion scene might be a reference to Minecraft.

  • It looks like dig dug working out in the gym when the one is beating the storm trooper with the sax.

  • isn't that giant robot from the anime Bobobo-bo bobobo

  • Please for the love of god learn how to say Hadouken

otherwise, thanks for all the time spent finding all of the references, there were plenty i missed

  • woah that was elevator action? i actually thought that was a reference to the dexter's lab gameboy color game

  • i have the neverhood :D

  • Wait... I thought Benny G was the nyan nyan cat...

  • Not how the keyboard in the robot says 'Broland'

For those not getting it, it's a parody of Roland

  • I think the Neverhood reference isn't so much the ending scene as the walking cycle during the credits. That looks like Klaymen's walking cycle.

  • 2:14 metal gear solid in a box? xD

  • You guys missed like 1 or 2, but great job! I knew around 90% of these refrences. :)

  • should point out towards the end of the video when they are dancing in the robot sonic gold fish thing it is moonwalking refrenceing MJ's game Moonwalker. also at 2:23 when show the guy wearing the cat masks, meowth is actualy got the cyber implants the bad guy from zero wing has, the one that says all your base are belongs to us.

  • should point out towards the end of the video when they are dancing in the robot sonic gold fish thing it is moonwalking refrenceing MJ's game Moonwalker.

  • I belive at 1:55 the brown haired guy having a huge boner is a reference to egoraptor

  • you missed at the beginning in the goldfish logo is the sonic goldfish running back and forth

  • At 4:50 is a reference too, but I dont remember which!!!!!

  • @tolueno7 "haters gonna hate" maybe? :P

  • @LinkEX Thanks!!! you're right, now I can sleep tonight!!!

  • 1:39

Dig Dug behind the glass window

  • Thanks alot for leading me into such a great song guys.

  • @CaptCow You're welcome!

  • at 2:50 in the picture in the back ground there is batman(batcat) batgirl and some one else who i dont recognize and at 2:32 you missed tin tin again

  • at 2:50 in the picture in the back ground there is batman(batcat) batgirl and some one else who i dont recognize

  • 5:09 : Soul Reaver

  • 2:25 the guy in black and white kinda looks like bimbo from betty boop cartoons... idk.

  • 0:56 furious fish like angry birds

  • Comment removed

  • When it's spelled "bass" it's still pronounced "base" (in this context). Like a bass guitar. That's the pun. Y'all're dum

  • 0:58 Angry Birds title screen reference. Boo yah

  • It's not a robotic sonic it's don patch from an anime called bobobo-bobo-bobo

  • 3:03 : I think there's a reference to Kirby Air Grind.

  • Isn't 1:38 a reference too Pokémon's Team Rocket shooting away?

  • @CrazyRub We're Blasting off again!

  • also I think there are many other small references in the backgrounds (perhaps for minecraft or cave story or castlevania) during the final scene and probably many others I didn't understand too (like the graffiti and signs in the city- '1969' etc.) probably a lot of them are inside jokes..

  • wow, awesome job.trying to keep up with you guys also made me notice a ton of other references, like the picture in the background during the vader fatality is from smb.I think almost all the backgrounds from that part of the clip (everything in purple) contain references, like day of the tentacle etc. Also many others like SP(steve purcell?) on max's picture and other writing on the wall at the club and on the levels in the sonic scene -pew pew, keep going- and 'kiff you read fast' on sonic's arm

  • I think the whole explosion scene is a Minecraft reference.

  • Nice, But at 0:45 its not rick roll is a reference to their other video called "Fort Knox"

also the final boss you can see a "John" on his hat refereng to "John Sco(gar)field"

  • Kenny G was also Nyan Cat y'know >w>

  • I believe 3:05 with Kenny G is also a nod to the infamous South Park episode where he essentially does the same thing (World Wide Recorder Concert).

  • pokémon 2:33 Miav

  • All these refs are suppose to be from the 80s so what has Ke$ha got to do with anything? I don't think that's her.

  • @gooihom Katamari Damacy, The Orange Box, Adventure Time!, GTA, Keyboard Cat, Neverhood, Angry Birds, Rickrolling, Xbox Achievement Unlocked, MGS, etc. Were you watching the same video? Considering that the references range from the dawn of video games to the present time, and even include things like Kenny G, it's pretty obviously Ke$ha.

  • 3:50 I believe the background is from Flashback

@shredderade could be Minecraft, but looks more like 3D DOT Game Heroes

  • 3:50 I believe the background is from Flashback

@shredderade could be Minecraft, but looks more like 3D DOT Game Heroes

  • 0:01 screw 240p. 8p ftw!

  • @ultimatebman More like 40 something p

  • PaRappa The Rappa is a great music game! Great job MahaloVideoGames!

  • Ke$ha's part don't make anysense...

  • California Games' surfing @ 0:32

  • I think you missed one :) "Cool spot" at the end when the character il walking ;) and maybe a sentense from Quake 3.

  • I think you missed one :) "Cool spot" at the end when the character il walking ;)

  • u forgot the dancing sonic the hedgehog giant doing michael jackson dancing

  • Mahalo and Goldfish broke the internet! Thumbs up if it's stuck at 304!

  • LIKE!

  • Awesome Possom Guys, I love it

  • At 4:01, isn't that a level in Battletoads?

  • Comment removed

  • Haha, awesome video guys! :-) Keep 'em coming...

  • Simply awesome. Love the side-by-side comparison, wayyyy better than just telling us about it. This is like pop-up video for videogame nerds :-)

  • Great job on the walkthrough guys. Hats off to Goldfish for yet another top quality track!

  • WHY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THAT??!?!?!

  • 03:09 Michael Jackson's moonwalk. :) Also, that other dancing moves, I think they are also references, I know I saw those moves somewhere before... Great job, guys, there are many references that I haven't notices.

  • at 1:09 in *this* video, their putting on helmets at the top of a building is definitely from the Megaman 3 title screen

  • @moron4hire Good catch!

  • Ooooh and the part when Sonic is stomping on the cars... isn't that a reference to one of Jax's fatalities in one of the Mortal Kombats? He goes super big and stomps on the opponent or something like that :P

  • Also forgotten the Mortal Kombat Fatality to Darth Vader in minute 4:18

  • @Doblaillo Don't noticed, it is there! :3

  • What a nostalgia bomb. Thanks for the walkthrough guys.

  • 0:50 is Earthworm Jim-related IMO. Also, Neverhood was amazing. Needs a reboot!

  • Good job guys :) awesome video! I think there is one thing left out though (in my opinion)

After the video during the credits they show Mike Davis I think it is... isn't the way he walks a tribute to Earthworm Jim?

  • Hilarious! Great job Chad and Wally!

  • Damn...I missed a lot of the references you guys caught. One thing though, I think the part where the characters hold up their instruments at 1:30 is a Zelda reference.

  • I'm pretty sure when the Sonic robot smashes the cars, and eats the people is a reference to Rampage. But I could be wrong.

  • The Orange box is an actual box in Metal Gear Solid 2, the design and everything, I don't think it's a reference to Valve's Orange Box.

  • I bet 90% of people are too young to get these like the guy below me the star is from mario 3

  • Comment removed

  • Metal Gear Solid FTW!

  • Chad you're so hot. I swear I saw a froggie in there somewhere...

  • Stumbled Upon this on the day it was uploaded? Weird....
