Galileo wasn't placed under house arrest for his theory that the earth revolved around the sun, it was because he was trying to disprove the exist of God by using the Bible. For that, he was placed under house arrest.
I think Joan is over-reacting. I think refusing to take the test is more like saying you cheated than being willing to prove that you didnt.
