  • Hi there, I have a requirement for some film work in the UK. This RC heli looks perfect for the job. Can you give me some pointers on where I can source the complete machine and/or the camera jig? regards Jerry

  • I think a little over kill though, could have just used 2 servos and a mini cam which would have added up to not even a 1/4 of that weight.

  • LOL @ Copyright violation! Just goes to show that NO MUSIC is better then WITH MUSIC! Regardless, it's always nice to see POLICE getting busted for ILLEGAL SH**! :-)

  • LOL. Thank you for your support...I think.

    :-)

  • Guess I should have also said "Nice Video"...

  • LOL. No...no...just messing with you. I enjoyed your comment.

  • stupid youtube!!! this copyright bullshit is pissing me off.

  • Hehehe I like the fact the police posted a video on YouTube with a soundtrack violating copyright, therefore getting banned. LOL ;D

  • It was a great song! I couldn't help myself.

    :-)

  • No problem with me!

Actually this is the first time I see this: A video getting partially "censored" (soundtrack removed).

I wonder if YouTube uses some automatic "scanning for copyrighted-music"-system now.

  • Either YouTube has one of those programs, or some of the companies that own the music have one...because I had two videos that I made awhile ago...suddenly get tagged like this.

I like the partial ban...in that I didn't have to recreate the slideshow with different music, and upload it again. They even give you an option of reviewing some copyright-free music that YouTube stores, and with a few clicks of the mouse, YouTube would have played the video with the new audio. Nice of them.

  • @ voidpulp:

I agree. Partial ban better then to have the entire vid "taken out". ;D

However I also think the music-industry is really quite clumsy in making business according to the laws of our time:

Example: While everyone around me was ripping music illegally (me not), I had to wait for YEARS until they finally came up with iTunes!

And today they could be making MILLIONS if they offered music for soundtracks: Like paying maybe 4.- Euros to use it LEGALLY!

This way both sides would win.

  • @flyingmagiccarpet Exactly! If digital music downloads were cheaper, more people would buy them. It's less hassle than trying to find a torrent for the music you want. Also, digital downloads don't have the cost associated with traditional distribution. You don't have to make CD's and ship them to the stores. They could charge much less than they do and still make a decent profit. But the industry is still operating under the old model. Maybe one day they will figure it out.

  • can you just buy the camra serup bc i hav the hell and a camra but it cant move

  • hey! what's the name of the song in this video??? - thANKS!

  • I would fly by peoples windows and look at their bewbs.

  • how much did it cost to you*

  • cool

  • this got to be the gayestboringest video i have ever seen in my entire life,WOW

  • That is awesome. Eyes in the sky without someone getting hurt.

  • Wow. What practical application does this helicopter represent? If I were a taxpayer in KC I would be pissed finding this.

  • Play my other video called "RC Helicopter w/ Camera" for more details of how it is used. A few uses: Surveillance and intelligence on a house with an armed suspect inside, hazardous scenes (dirty bomb, chemical, etc). So you would watch a video of a test project that cost $0, and without knowing anything more you would be "pissed?" I think you might be a little sensitive.

  • The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I can see how this could be used for good, but "We The People" are always going to be (and rightly should be)suspicious of any government controlled operations such as the police department, especially if that operation is controlled by the state and not the taxpayers like in KC and STL.

  • Ha! Do you read the newspaper? You want the City Government...the KANSAS CITY city government to run the police department? Wow. I'm not going to go into any more detail about why that is a bad idea. So, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

    Mark

  • drugs r bad mmmkay

  • Now they can give out tickets and eat donuts from in the car.

  • I like that joke...not bad. LOL.

    Mark

  • how much is your helicopter? i just bought a unexpensive mid-size one on which i'm gonna mount a wireless spy cam for my sculpture project about "body expension". ha, i guess it's gonna be a bit shaky~@@~

  • Maybe a little shakey. Oh well, you'll have to see...good luck!

    Mark

  • r u sure u werent building a newer robocop version or something??? lawl

  • Nah...not on our budget! We were lucky to get off the ground on our budget!

    Mark

  • lawl it still stays cool:P

  • do you call this a Helicopter? Flying high as 2 to 3 feet LOL.

  • Check out our test-flight video. When we shot this first video, it was raining a little bit and we didn't want to get it wet. We went a lot higher the next time. :-)

    Mark

  • it would be cool if u could mount a small automatic airsoft gun on it lol. is it expensive to build something like that with the camera on it. also wat is the range of the helicopter, could u connect it to some sort of a sattilite dish and make it fly far distances?

  • in most cases the range on any rc aircraft (airplanes or heli's) the range is abou as far as you can see it away from you. probably no more than a mile.

  • I am not an RC expert, but I've been told you can buy expensive models that have automatic leveling capabilities...and GPS navigation. That would allow you to plot the flight plan in a computer, launch the helicopter, and basically allow it to fly its course, whether that was out of view or not. But that would likely be a $20,000 RC helicopter. At least that's what I've been told.

    Mark

  • that thing must be glitch city!!

  • Hmmm. You can tell that from looking at a video? Did you see our test flight video? Check out my profile for it...it flew great, and brought back great imagery.

    Mark

  • How would i go about powering the camera? Would an extra mini 9v battery ad too much weight

  • We got rid of the "lipstick" camera, and put a full-sized Sony camcorder on there. A Hi8. So it had its own battery power.

    Mark

  • would i be able to mount an wireless spy camera to a cheap electric rc helicopter or would it be to heavy for it

  • It would work on something near the size of the Blade CX2 and larger, but not on something like the size of the Picco Z.

I think that the cheapest, smallest RC heli that can possibly fly with a camera, is the Reflex from Airhogs or something like that.

  • voidpulp, how do you keep the cam free from vibration?

  • I have another video here on youtube that is an actual flight test, and every bit of footage on that video came from the helicopter's camera. There is some vibration, but for the actual test we used a Hi-8 camcorder...and its weight helped steady it.

  • I dont see some big result...

    One childen be this.

  • Its not "big" at all, its really small. The purpose is to have images from the air in situations where it is too dangerous to fly our manned full-size helicopter: chemical spill/plume, sniper situation, barricaded subject with a gun, etc. And its fast and easy to deply (and cheap at around $3000 to build.) It met our goals...that's all that mattered to us. And what does "One children be this" mean? Lost me there...

    Mark

  • I refer of this adaptation is much simple, its product don´t have accuracy in the fire... the R/C of heli don´t concede this!....I have one good heli and I know this.

  • Ahh...you're saying our helicopter is simple and almost like a toy compared to better helicopters. I'll grant you that, Nesvaldo. There are much better helicopters. Our budget is almost nothing...so we definitely don't have the best here. You are from Brasil! I'm just glad someone from Brasil is watching this video...that's pretty cool. :-)

    Mark

  • Your heli is a good model, but I belive than other type of aero have a more precision , per exemple:I prefer one airplane in with big wing for this, the all helis are very sensible, the mayor part of airplane with big wing permit one fly with more stability.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Do you letter of than country?

I thanks for you comments of Brazil.

  • The only difference between men and boyz is teh price of their toyz ;-)

Nice copter though, but what to do in case of rain?

  • Its water resistant, but not water-proof. So in all by a heavy rain, it could potentially fly. If a chemical fire is getting out of control...you would fly the helicopter and risk its destruction to get what footage you could before it was compromised by the rain...

    Mark

  • nice althogh i woudent like to polie how to do there job lol but take it to a midel shop therel show u how to set it up the gyro shoudent rele be on the boom happy flying :)

  • What the hell are you saying?

Where did you learn that? No really, how do you do that? Typing an error in every word...

  • LOL.way to go man!i smell blood..

  • I'd like to build an RC Car outfitted with a working Taser. That's would be awesome!

    Mark

  • I can just picture a criminal running away form the helicopter, and the helicopter being right behind it... lol.

  • Thanks! We liked it to. I'm hoping our police dept. invests in one...this was a test version. And we had to send back all the borrowed parts!

  • dang that is a nice helicopter

  • ill try to get a video of it i did this over two years ago lastime i heard it was damaged with the back of a rifle

  • That's pretty cool. I want one of those! Do you have any photos or video?

    Mark

  • I have donated something like this to the la plice department its made for two people some one flies it and the other one controls the wepon system it shoots ruber bullets only. i made it my self

  • Thanks, a lot. I hope you checked out the other helicopter video we have up on youtube. In the other video we extensively test the helicopter...and the entire video is from the video camera on-board the helicopter...

    Mark

  • damn :D nice

  • Nice hovering skills!
