  • My brother in law made the mistake of bad mouthing Davy so we shipped hm down south where the locals can "Give him what fer".

  • Hey davy crockett was not a legend im one of his descendants i can bend metal pretty darn good and i can bench press more than my body weight heck my 300 hundred pound older brother had a seizure and attacked my mom so he claims and i whooped him good.

  • Billy Bob Thornton's portrayal may have been more hitorically accurate but Fes Parker was the better Davy Crockett'

  • I saw this on TV once. I was surprised that they showed how he died.

  • Come on, it's DISNEY! They're hardly, if ever, correct about anything. They just use things that rhyme, what's good for kids, or what's memorable

  • We sing this when our bandleader is presented, His name's Dave, so we just though of it

  • Davey crockettt was a jerk

  • @matt93cobra so were the tacosuckers that killed him

  • @matt93cobra how can you say something like that?

  • I wonder if Disney will mind my new lyrics for the tune. "Dexter Texter" may raise awareness about a serious safety problem, those who text while driving.

Born to be distracted as you can see.

Talked up a storm when he was only three.

Raised on the boob tube, watchin' comedy.

Made up his mind to live dangerously.

Dexter, Dexter Texter, texted his life away!

More can be seen at the gridlocksmith blog (Sorry, utube won't allow url's here.) Will Disney permit radio spots- this music + new words?

  • This song makes the hair stand up on George W. Bushes ball sack.

  • This brings back so much memories! :D

  • american history fuu -.-

  • Actually he was born in NC state

  • "Why do we all know Davy Crockett?" Well, he captured the Cherokee Indians.

  • WOW! i thought the melody was completly different

  • @slapshot68

    Don't trust Wikipedia.

  • Who's singing this song?

  • some of this stuff on him is not true, he didnt kill a bear at all n patched up the crack in the liberty bell. look up liberty bell n davy crockett on wikipedia n it doesnt mention that he killed a bear and patch up the crack in the bell

  • @slapshot68 Umm "Crack in the Liberty Bell" was just a figure of speech.

  • @slapshot68 I think it might be a metaphor that he patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell.

  • "Why do we all know Davy Crockett?" Oh, well, you see, there was this minor skirmish in San Antonio in 1836...

  • @therealjoebloggs WELL, he did go to Congress. Do the search on Davey Crocket in Congress, "Not yours to give." Too bad todays politicians never learned this.

  • @mowells And when he ran for re-election and lost, he said to those who had voted against him, "Now I can go to Texas, and you can go to Hell!" Again, not like today's politicos.

  • I love this song!!!!

  • Man, That brought back some old memmories ! So glad I was apart of that time when such good family films were Produced. They helped make me who I am today .

  • The greatest song from the greatest movie ever!!Thank you!
