  • love the coin sound effects lol

  • Mario = The best game in all the world and in all the history ;) ! so Great with violons and piano!

  • What you said = The Truth

  • wahhhhhhh!!!

    oh my mario god..

  • Love the piano. Wish the audience was quieter. Awesome.

  • SHUT UP AUDIENCE i can't hear the music that well

  • lmao

  • yea how dare that audience ruin a great song THEY MUST DIE

  • i like how they all look at the guy at the edge and he signals when to start. awesome. oh and funny choice of song

  • That was cool. :D I play the violin. It makes me want to do that so bad.

  • I love Otakon. =)

  • And I love Snake.

  • lol

  • 00:28

Christ i just wanna smack that guy for laughing.

  • dont smack the guy...give him a FALCON PUNCH!!!

  • i was at this concert, and they were TRYING to get a rise out of the audience, so to the people crying about noisy americans, lighten up

  • it's funny to hear it with violins

when i would play that for pulic i would laugh like crazy and i couldn't play anymore XD

  • yes it is, is mario in going

  • love the coin sounds xD

  • It's call enjoying the moment... you humorless individuals.

For the most part the audience was quiet for most of the other pieces during the concert when they were playing. The MC of Eminence was already looking for reactions when he was teasing the audience about this last piece during the concert. Besides, the Eminence string quartet was enjoying the reactions anyway... especially the violinist that kept dropping his notes by accident x] Awesome ending to a decent convention!

  • They were pretty obviously playing for a crowd reaction. This is music from Mario. It's not Stravinsky or anything.

  • its mario! how can you not clap?

  • but the clapping IS AFTER the music ends not IN THE MIDDLE. its annoying

i love mario and i love the to watch such videos but the QUALLTY of this video is poor

  • Can't you hear the coin sound effect that the pianist is adding in? That's what we were laughing at.

  • When they start cheering and clapping all I can do is grit my teeth. Shut up you classless oafs, this isn't a shitty Dave Matthews concert full of drunk frat tards.

Some people like to HEAR the performance. The same shit makes my blood boil when watching tap dancers doing guest performances on TV shows and stuff. I know the ladies sometimes want the cock so bad they can't shut their holes, but GOD. SHUT UP!!!

  • i totally agree .... like in this video @ 00:27 a guy laugh... WTF we suppose to enjoy listening to the music not laugh at them... man if i was playing and this guy laughed i would give him the finger and tell him to SHUT THE FREAKING UP!

  • lol i love the beginning. the audience just explodes xD

  • @ markimark03: I'm sorry but I can't seem to a pair of pliers large enough to dislodge the iron bar you have so effectively rammed up your own butt... Seriously, it's called being part of the experience and encouraging the performers. It's video game music, not a hoity toity performance at Powell Symphony Hall...

  • It's still pretty vulgar behaviour, even if markimark03 has effectively rammed an iron bar up his own butt ;)

  • why do americans always feel the need to shout "woooot woooooot yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!" and clap and laugh at everything, it's such vulgar behaviour

  • It's truly annoying

  • awesome :D great crowd :D

  • Oh btw, the video sweetly stops at a pause... I hope you all realise the performance doesn't end there.

The response videos provide the 2nd part to it. :)

  • No, I thought the audiecne was AWESOME. Made it more enjoyable.

    Sorta like feedback.

I watched the Sydney version. - Silence - Was not fun at all.

  • yeah, noisy audience. I understand that it's nostalgic and famous, but it's still noisy and cannot hear the whole music!!

  • Ummm no...I was there. The atmosphere was fun. People were having fun. This was an extra song they did after they were supposed to be done. They were not showing any disrespect.

  • My guess is that there was some visual presentation of the Super Mario game to the side, which is why the audience was acting the way they where...

  • FUCKING NOISY AUDIENCE

it really gets to my nerves.

What's even sadder is most of them argue that they are "supporting" and "showing apreciation" by doing it, as if it was a fucking megawatt-amplyfied pop-rock concert.

More like fucking up the complexities of the sound.

It really puts me off. If you want to scream and laugh go watch wrestling, or monster cars, or whatever, and leave delicacies to those that know to apreciate them, or at least RESPECT the performers and the rest of the audience.

  • Americans are stupid.

  • .....I'm american, and I completely agree......

    How rude..

  • Eminence has never performed in America. This is in Sydney, Australia.

  • Ignore last comment. I'm dumb.

  • Seriously, these stupid backwoods hicks don't don't how to treat classical musicians.

Retards, it's been thoughtfully composed with the intention of being listened to! It's not just background noise to one of your stupid orgies like the trash you're used to.

  • STUPID LAUGHING PEOPLE!

  • Audience, please shut up!

  • very well done A+++

  • SUGOI! haha, that was wonderful! haha.

    <3 Devon <3

  • the end part is the fukcin best!!!!

  • HIROAKI!!!!!!!!!! <3333

  • it's the theme from super mario world from the snes

  • Does Anyone know what the SECOND piece was called (after the Theme). I think it's Yoshi's theme, but I don't Know. PLEASE TELL ME, please.

  • I think it's "Yoshi's Island 2", for lack of a better name. That's the one that starts during the massive ovation because everyone thought World 1-1 was the entire encore piece.

  • Yeah I think it's called Something like Mario Air Platform. Anyway, its a cool theme.

  • Actually, it's just the usual theme for the snes games, Super Mario World. They add some extra bass and drums when you're riding Yoshi, but otherwise, it's pretty much the song they use for the first few stages above ground and outside. ^__^

  • I was there in person and nearly DID die of happiness - this concert falls under the category of "lifetime highlight".

  • I was there and that shyt pwned. I loved that entire portion as well as all of the previous songs as well.

  • Eminence are awesome, I went to their Night in Fantasia concert in Sydney.

  • Ahhh Otakon was great :D

  • I was there! It was sooo much fun and they were amazing!

  • Heh...looks like someone wasn't following the no camera rule. I was part of the crew workin' the big screens (that you don't see in this vid), and as much of a non-anime fan I am, I thought these guys were pretty good...

  • Blah, they never said no cameras to us! Just no flash photography.

  • The allowed photography. There was a staff member walking back and forth specifically telling everyone in the front two rows that photography was permitted as longs as there was no flash or audible shutter sound, and that video was fine.

  • Ah, well that's news to me..maybe I'm thinkin' of the AAA concert or somethin'...Doesn't matter much to me, I have everything you saw on the screens anyway heh. Good show!

  • This was absolutely incredible, the whole show blew my expectations out of the roof. I was exploding when they played Mononoke, Totoro, and Laputa songs. And Mario was such a fucking awesome encore to the whole thing. God I hope they come back!

  • Yes, that was so totally amazing ^_^

  • I was there! XD That was the best part of the whole show. That and when the first violin guy's music flew off his stand.

  • That concert was amazing! I was sitting in the fourth row behind the staff peoples.

  • OMFG I cant believe I missed that.

  • I don't think there will ever be a day when Mario musical adaptations aren't adored.

  • Totally awesome. Otakon 2007 was my first time hearing these guys and it's motivated me to move to Australia after college and audition for the orchestra as a violist.

  • This part was quite awesome for the closer. You didn't get the Bowser's castle though. that was possibly the best part of the mario performance..

  • Wow, that would've been awesome! Hard to play, too.

  • OMG! i was here! this was friggin amazing! thanks soooo much for putting this up!

  • I kept wishing the people cheering would shut up so I could hear the damned music. This was the best piece of the show.

  • wow...where were you seated? cause I heard quite well even with the cheering.

  • i heard them fine too. it was soo fun to hear them do such a simple piece<3. ahh super mario!

    ~<3christine

  • About 2/3 of the way back in the middle, I think. The cheering in the front drowned them out a bit now and then. I was still able to hear MOST of it, though.
