@bmerfunitec thank you I'm glad you found it useful, yes this combination makes for a killer cabinet. Billy Gibbons uses this combo of speakers in his cabs
Excellent presentation. I wish all speaker manufactures would present their products in a similar fashion. Side by side comparison in an actual musical setting really shows the potential in each.
Ironically I have been debating on which one of these very two would be best suited in a Mesa. I think the Man O War may fit the bill best, being my Mesa is a bit dark in the first place.
Thanks for posting your review. It help me very much.
@patton1970 Actually I wonder if the Wizard would not fit better again for you ? Clearer than a Gonernor and fuller than a Man O War. Just my opinion.
@jp6l6 Funny you would suggest the Wizard. Since my initial post, after a bit more research on the Eminence site, I actually ordered up a Wizard and installed it. It is working out perfectly for what I was wanting. A great speaker..
@MrDanielf2413 wow lots of questions, do Eminence suggested matching speakers as I have in my demos rather than patriots with red coats so not sure how swamp thang & gov would sound together but Swamp is more like a Brit speaker than Texas heat so might be ok
What about the eminence patriot SWANP THANG ? into the HT-club 40 combo ? I just heard it and I wonder if it would watch with HTV 212 cabinet with the eminence governor and man-o-war ? I'm new at this speakers combination...that's why I refer to your expertise...I'm 58 years old and use to have a Fender Super Reverb and a stratocaster. I learned with that...that's it. Now that I'm hooked on TONE...lol I refer to a much more experienced TONE addick then I. :)
.If I keep my 40 watt, buy a MXR 10 band EQ and buy a HTV212 cabinet, I would end up with 3 speakers when hooked up to the combo. If I change the two speakers in the cabinet for the eminence combination; what SPEAKER would I put in the combo ? What would you recommend ? And if I keep the 40 Watt what SPEAKER would I put into the combo amp ? In order to match or compliment the HTV212 cabinet with the eminence combination? scuse my English writing I'm Francophone. lol
I'm thinking that I should get the stage 60, change the speakers with the eminence combination. And then, get a blackstar HTV212 cabinet...change the speakers with the same eminence combination. If I go and play with a friend one on one, I just take the combo with me. However, If I go play with the band, I take the cabinet with me. Understand ? There's the bug...lol....
Wow love the sound ! Question ... did you close the back of the cabinet or did you leave it open?
I own the Blackstar Ht-club 40. The clean section excellent sound. Overdrive channel...If I raise the gain past the middle, I can't hear the chords...only the picking solo sound great...even with the ISFbouton ..to me it is not that great. Anyway, I was going to exchange it for the Ht-stage 60 because I would get 2 speakers and better EQ. That being said here is the reason why I wrote to you
@Rrracket Thanks, well kind of. It's a backing track available from Jamtrackcentral that has no guitars on it, I layered the rhythm tracks then recorded solos over that
@guitarnoize Then I would say it's your composition, arrangement etc. - you are the creator. Very original. You should put it on iTunes. A longer version would be even better
lovely tones....where can I buy Emminence Speaker chassis`s in England!! i.e.who stocks them!! can someone please tell as I want one asap!!

Their voices together make for a very good cabinet choice? Great individually but...insanely good together.

@MrDanielf2413 have you tried different preamp tubes? Maybe switching the V1 for something else would have more effect?

@guitarnoize To me the Swamp Thang sounds typically american, a real dream to swap Celestion V30 for these when coupled to a Fender Supersonic.
