I love to use the Ghostwriter Notes app I bought via majorspot[dot]com It's because it has sheets for music. You can compose songs easily just like a paper music sheet.
Dreaded doing the Google search for "sheet music; app" just now. There goes my million dollar idea.
I wonder if people would buy this as a stand alone piece of technology. Something similar in shape to the iPad, but with a bigger screen. It's sole purpose would be to display sheet-music. It could then have a lot of the features people here are mentioning:
- An 'arm' on the back to sit upright on your piano
@MaxwellSDSU i would totally buy that. like if you charged about $100 for it and all it did was read sheet music, i'd buy it immediately. ESPECIALLY if it was lightweight.
This is awesome! hopefully on updates we'll be able to grab any of our own sheet music from school or home, scan it, and be able to use at any given moment
Would love to get this if only you can scan your current sheet music, so I guess it's pretty useless as a sheet music library unless you download and buy new stuff which I wouldn't mine if they had music from my collection to buy and download.
This could of been avaliable years ago, as I understand you can get the net on something as amall as a cell phone. What I really wanted to comment on was this i pad buisness taking off in high schools & colleges to the degree where we see students in Grade one using 'em as tho they were simply carring & working a cell phone as an adult...it's a scary word alright to think there be truth to the movie Farienheit 591.
@Ezdduf4kuZ I wasn't going to make a comment but viewing your comment i just wanted to let you know something. this i pad, and what ever follows could mean an end to text books, i bet there thinkin' of it, government/school trustees etc as a cost saving measure, can you imagine the maestro with his wand reading off the i pad or father at the church reading the holy book from an i pad etc etc, the i pad good & bad, we can live without it!!!
Idea: Offer the option of having a single, scrolling line of music, and then offer the option of having the music roll by at a pre-specified metronome marking. Would be wonderful for practicing without needing the ugly clicks of a metronome, and also great for sightreading practice!
can you make it so that when you play the last bar of music, it will hear the music and turn the page FOR you? that would be awesome. probably difficult, but awesome.
I'm a student conductor for band, and I've heard of music notes inc before, but this is the first I've seen the program. if you guys offer full scores, you should create a search menu that would make it very helpful if a student asks about a specific measure in a specific part. That would be amazing if you offered that. I'd much rather have a iPad on my podium rather than a bunch of clustered huge, awkward scores that are hard to turn pages. great idea!
The music app everyone wants, is one where as you play-PIANO-the notes light up blue as the app "listens" to your playing. Allowing you to learn the song as the music app progresses through the sheet music due to your playing. Someone take this idea and run with it! PLEASE!!! : )
It's 9.7" diag screen with a resolution of 1024x768. Do the math and the display is 5.82" x 7.75" which means the total surface area is less than half of a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. I would love to have a FULL-SIZED version of the iPad for this app, perhaps an iPad Plus. But until Apple comes out with a size that I can actually read while playing, iPass on the iPad.

@frediedo can't you just save them as pdf's, and open them up as PDF's on the iPad? it wouldn't be through the app - but it would work

Lots of comments on page turning. Would it be possible to have a simple device corded to the port that could flip pages with a foot tap?
MacEricG 1 year ago
Well, if you look at the score at 0.28 you can see that the notes are REALLY small, quite different from the standart size; But interesting anyway
sightreader2010 1 year ago
could be great - it would need...
1. Some kind of jacket/slip to hold it onto a music stand. Wouldn't want your new iPad falling off now!!
2. If it turned page automatically (i.e a mic detected what you were playing and when the page should turn).

How about the music scrolling across the screen plus and an option to flip the page all controlled by user defined metronome setting.

It would be cool if there was a transpose option as well.
