Whenever you think you're a decent guitar player/musician, listen to any recording of George Bellas. You'll probably change your mind soon thereafter. And yeah, not only is the guy an unreal technician, he's quite the musician as well. G.B. is on a whole other level of virtuosity and as a result, just flies way over some folks heads. If you are a guitar player, you'll either be astounded and learn from listening to G.B. or make a coffee table out of your guitar. Take your pick.
Everyone do know the fact that, on their time, Bach, Paganninni (mispelled) and so on, people didn't like it? This will be listened to for the next 200 years ;)
@evo17v:sounds like musical diarrhea.hahaha ! like tsirla flowing when you shit in the toillet ,very fast and you cant stop.its a pity that he cant use his techniche building a melodic synthesis that can stuck in your mind.but i remember his playing in a dereks sherinian's project as a guest and he was awesome!
freakishly accomplished technical player, but this sounds like musical diarrhea. zero melody, awful transitions, not very original. dont get me wrong, i wish i was half the player he is, but if i was, i'd try to make some music
@evo17v , ah ah, musical diahorrea.....LOL. Yes these guys really need to put their childish ego aside and really learn about music, because technique is not just playing fast. In 20 years, who will give a shit. But you can listen to a great melody made 200 years ago, and it still leaves you with your mouth open.
@evo17v Actually, if you don't like the riffs(yes they are like... satanic technical lol), there are still the solos, they are IMO awesome particularly the first one :)
i cant find anything more progressive than Bellas, not this track in particular, but the last two albums wow, progressive progressive, i play drums and let me tell you, it takes me a whole week to learn a song, anyway great album and this is the best track
In technique this guy is the best but I think this composition has a low value. In my opinion music is not the ability to play fast. Imagine that somebody creates a robot guitar player, it would certainly be the fastest but there would not be music.
I don´t have problems with "fast", what I´m saying is that in my opinion this particular song is like an exercise to improve your skills, not o great composition. Pagannini made great fast compositions with a lot of feelings and colors, in my opinion, not like this one.
@worldspiritda , agreed, there's a LOT more than playing a couple of scales very fast. So many people associate these guys to Paganini.....gimme a break. Paganini wasn't just a master of the instrument, but a master of HARMONY and COMPOSITION.
I actually think that his Caprices are too overstated, instead his Concertos are really the climax of his abilities.
They also talk about Bach. It's utter crap, Bach's music is too advanced for anyone, let alone rock guitarists. I was a rock guitarist too...
bluesy solos????????

its not ALL fast...and not all of his compositions are fast.
I suppose you would pick on Pagannini for this fact too?
