  • FYI, I was the timpani player and principal percussionist in 2007. In this piece; due to sheer amount of percussionists in the section, the quarter note triplet part was divided. This was band director decided.

  • LOL the n00b cant even handle quarter note triplets

  • my band

  • I agree, this song would have been increadible if it had been up to tempo. I feel that it could have been that there wasn't enoughn time to practice it up to tempo, but good other wise.

  • you guys sound very good! that is very excellent playing, especially from the french horns.

i must say though, that the song is drastically under tempo until the last minute or so. when the mallets start at about 3:30, the tempo needs to be at least 20-30 bpm faster to get the feel right.

other than that, it really sounds great!

  • Hey just for all of you out there i would just like to let you know i was one of the percusiomists in this piece and i would to stress that this is a piece of high dificulty even at the college level and were a high school

  • you only need 4 percussionists for this piece

  • im in the roxbury band program i saw that live it roks

  • hey well ive got a seriou question all jokes set aside, did the tympani player try to play it by himself or did the band director decide it?

  • it looks like it was just a concert, so the director most likely split it so the percussion parts were evenly distributed because everyone wants to see their child perform just as much as others.

  • nice horns =]

  • Great playing guys! Of course, except for that tympani player. You see, here in Miami we don't tolerate those kind of shenanigans. Two players? C'mon, show some pride! I WANT ONE TYMPANIST!

  • well done. you guys did a great job.

we just started playing this piece wer going to play it along with rocky point holiday and o magnum at the Festival of Gold in Orchestra Hall in chicago.

i have to agree with that comment about the tympani player sharing the part...cmon im sure he could do it if he tried harder..lol

    Miami Killian senior High woot!!

    miami florida =]

  • one comment... why is the tympani player sharing his part...

Here in miami florida, we dont condone those kinds of meager attempts at a hard song... listen out for miami killian sr. high schools recording of this baby, youll see me playing the tympani

  • Although I don't think we are performing it, EPHS' Wind Ensemble rehearsed it a few times, it was really intense.

  • this is my jam

  • we are playing this song right now at blaine high school in minnesota. its very difficult and you guys did a nice job of playing it! hopefully i can get a video clip of out band playing this as well

  • yeah i haerd your band... same problem with the tympani player, its just a little extra effort on his part... but w/e the band sounded nice

  • you all are really good! :)

  • our wind ensemble is playing this and i play marimba. thats some tough stuff there

  • wow. we freaking rock :)

  • your disappointed?? This is probably the best band in the state.. They even played at carnigie hall this year and were invited to the Mid West festival. So yeah i bet your band didn't do that.

  • very impressive. Looking forward to seeing you guys along with my alma mater school South Brunswick at National Festival! Congrats! Go NJ!

  • Go Gaels!!!!
