The Mini as an alternative to the Smart Car is valid. The Mini is a very nice car and sportier than the Smart with similar fuel savings.

The Maxima and the 3 Series are absurd alternatives. Fuel usage does not even compare with the Smart. The 3 Series uses premium fuel as well.
