I did Graham years ago and loved it. It is exciting to watch, too. But you're never going to make a workout tape out of this. I teach fitness now, and have experience with non-dancers from all walks of life. I know how to give them a workout that works, and Graham is inaccessible to all but an elite. It is so much harder than Yoga or Pilates, that they exist in different universes. I hate to be negative, but it won't work. You can't make a workout video out of this. But good luck anyway.
oh well, you can use lots of instrumental music but i made coreographies with this technique and i use sigur ros music, bjork, the cranes, regina spektor, try not to use very common or commercial music because that will kept the audience attention instead of the coreography, good luck =)
DUDE! No freaking way! My dad went to julliard with this guy and i knew him when i was really little. Pleassseeee whoever posted this video contact me I need his email or anything if you need permission tell him it's anthony tumbarello's daughter. I cannot believe I found this video!!
I just learned all these warm ups and GOSH do they hurt ur hips!!!!! it is so facinating to me of all the things ur hips and pelvis can control....Martha Graham was one amazing woman to create this style of dance!
true, we have to go back and capture the magic of our youth...I think tomorrow I am going to practice this. Last time I dance graham was in 1979. I swim and jog? and do yoga so I guess I can? This video will help me remember...thanks. Not many classes are offered?

@PilatesBodywork They were probably speaking of a Martha Graham workout for those of a dance background.. likely in ballet and modern.

The Graham people really need to create a series of workout tapes--Pilates and yoga people would eat this stuff up.
