As for Manny's question about dropping the "tenderize her head" line, Elvin's ex-wife and daughter were brutally murdered in California abut ten years ago and he probably just doesn't find the line very amusing anymore...
Saw him at Fillmore West, summer '69, where he played frequently as a favorite, on a blues bill. Great performer. I think they trade off leads in this song as it develops. Love the piano work, too, and the sax.
Saw Elvin with Wet Willy in San Diego in the early 70s. Will never forget it, Great show. He had the sax player I've ever seen. They opened and stole the show from Guess Whol
Yes Mike played with Jimmy(Wet Willie) way back and to threeputtindude, it's amazing we're still alive and kicking. I just went to my 40 year high school reunion and gave everyone a heart attack as they had all heard I was dead!!!!!
Blues on The Fox Aurora Il. my home town. I just had this playing in my car on the way home from work today. The Let Flow album on piano was Steve Miller.
OMG! I saw Elvin do this song in the early 70s at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, Tx. He was wearing dark blue overalls and was barefoot and was jumping all over the stage! He was and still is one of the best country-rock singers i've ever seen perform!
Oh yea! Thanks theatownboys! Really cool, who is that other guitarist. Haven't been able to see Elvin in about 20 years. This is the next best thing.
What can we say it's ELVIN we love him!!!

What's he doing? Sleepwalking through this song? Doesn't have nearly the kick of the 70s versions. Getting old I guess.

Definitely showing , (and feeling), his age. Can't beat the Let It Flow version...

What happened to: "Gonna get me Hank Aaron's Baseball Bat and Tenderize Her Head?" LOL - I guess it's dated and politically incorrect!

Hey, you do know that the first killer guitar solo is not Elvin right? I say this because
you kept the camera on him the whole
first guitar solo but his hand movements
don't match the riffage.

I wish someone could put his Hey Good Lookin' version of Hank Williams song on here too.

I love Elvin. Glad to see he's still got chops. Have seen him live several times over the decades- great showman.
Thanks for this post, theatownboys

Why? Everything evolves. This has a great sound and a killer groove. Don't try to compare guys to their stuff from 30 years ago man, just enjoy!

Man, I love Youtube.
I saw Elvin back in 1969 at the Filmore west. He had the Pointer sisters signing with him. John Mayall was there that night too.
I'm surprised I made it through those days...or should I say daze...whoa
