  • i dont know which is a steeper hillside...off rue Hotel de Ville or off the edge of the N.D.G. Rose Bowl parking lot. Both get alot of "ass-in-the-airtime"

2:14 100 points for taking off the guy's jack & stealing his spare tire w/o getting out of the car!

  • Love the way the roads are soaking wet at 0:35 and then dry at 0:46 also, they keep coming back to that same intersection of St. Lawrence and St. Antoine. But a great scene nonetheless!

  • lol its like a cops and robber tagging game

  • I didn't know Mach 1s were so good off road.

  • xD

  • They don't do work like that anymore in hollywood, its all unrealistic CG crap that holds my suspension of disbelief for about eight seconds (before I flip the channel.) I love stuff like this.

  • spécial magnum filmé dans les rue de montréal, avec aubert palatio dans la ford.

    1 ' 44'' rue de l'hotel de ville,sud sherbrooke

  • Does anyone know who coordinated the stunts or cars for this movie?

  • Yes.....those old cars had horse powers ;)

  • at 2:48

    Dave's farm sky hill!

  • Do cops chase ugly bad guys?

  • battleships racing!

  • Man, that black mustang looked as beat up as Eleanor. Seems most older car chase movies used at least one Mustang.

  • Ahh, the '69 Buick Skylark.. makes me feel like playing Driver again.

  • 69 Skylark prob had a 350 Buick 2v in it and the 71 or 72 Stang a 302 2v both cars sounded like they had a damn 4 banger. whoever edited the sounds shoulda been shot!

  • The music on the "Can Geico save you 15% or more on car insurance?....do dogs chase cats?" commercial is a thousand times better than the music they start using at 1:47 of this movie clip!

  • could geico save you 15% or more on car insurance?.....do dogs chase cats?

  • That has to be the worst commute to work ever!!

  • Best car chase I've ever seen.

  • i hate when random jumps are left on the highway, just like at 4:13

  • I can't stand when people feel the need to quote shit. No substance,,,,, no creativity. An absolute waste of space. ;(

  • Can Gieco save you 15% or more on car insurance?.....Do dogs chase cats? ;)

  • There's great, there's awesome and then there is this fucking car chase!!!

  • LOL! The ramp @ 4:12

I can't believe they let it show in the footage.

  • WOW fedormannjr...Did fpcurro just school you on a car that's been rusting in your driveway next to your Prius for ten years???? Tthe 350 was one of GM's biggest mistakes, get em hot once and throw em away... The 350 engine along with the 700r4 transmission is the reason I will never own a GM product again.

  • @FRDMANN27 Mind your own bee's wax Ford Boy. Obnoxious Canadians need not comment on real American muscle cars. The old GM monsters had powerglides, turbo 350s, and 400s. I pulled my powerglide and went with the 4 speed. That powerglide's great for the track though.

  • I stand corrected

  • The Buick is a 68 Special Deluxe (poor man's Skylark). We can plainly see that the exhaust pipe is on the passenger side, which indicates that it has the 230hp 350 V8

  • @fpcurro How about that sweet Skylark smashed at :52? What year is that one?

  • @fedormannjr 64 LeSabre or Wildcat.

BTW, the difference between the 230hp and the 280hp 350 was in the carburetor, but even with 230, still a torque monster! The Special Deluxe was only available with the 230hp version or the 155hp 250 straight 6, which would have the exhaust pipe on the drivers side. I know all this because I have owned a 68 Skylark for 10 years now, so I was thrilled to see this clip and the Geico commercial

  • @fpcurro You're in like company. I too have a 68 2 dr Skylark in my driveway that I've had about that long. I got ambitious and put a 73 455 in it,,,,, with some work done. I am mad at myself for letting that 350 go (it ran great) and letting a 70 wildcat get away from me<<<<< I would've dropped that stock 370 horse motor in my Lark rather than try to squeeze it out of the 73 motor. Are you still running the stock 350?

  • That's a 68 or 69 Buick Skylark. 280 horse wildcat 350 torque monster.

  • epic music starts at 1:47

  • epic music starts at 2:00

  • "Do dogs chase cats?"-Geico commercial 2011

  • those engines sound like 1990 ricer engines

  • @RazorUltraPro11 mics on cams didnt pick up on bass till we made editing software sorry to bust ur bubble on that

  • This crap makes Toby Halicki look like George Lucas! No continuity, no reason for the 'chase', and the cars are dumb and ugly...

  • I wonder who choreograph this chase. John woo?

  • Thank goodness the train had a load of uncovered, unsecured, and empty cardboard boxes. That actually was a damn good chase, though. That shitbox Buick did pretty well for itself.

  • i like the part when the guy drives the car

  • Don't worry that Mustang wasn't destroyed. I bet right now somebody has just dug into the 2000 pop rivets, road signs, and gallons of bondo some Used Car Dealer "Repaired" it with.

  • It's Eleanore from Gone In 60 Seconds(1974)!

  • mustang fastback vs. land whale?

  • 2:20 HAHA FAIL DATSUN

  • Filmed in Montreal Quebec Canada, even today i recognize the streets and buildings.

  • @quattro4kss I noticed that it was filmed downtown and Griffontown with St Henri too boot I think. For a Montrealer and old car lover, this even for the second time melts my butter!

  • Yes !! -This Masterpiece Delivers.

The 1970's... -No computer-generated crap ! This all had to be done for real !

Achieving these scenes for film was a real -demanding challenge in those wonderful days -Regardless of cost !

The real story here is about the stuntmen and the repeated risks they took -Just to get the scene 'right'.

-Everything in the perfectly controlled 'computer age' is worthless crap by comparison.

    Audiences sense it...

  • Ok. That was cool.

  • Im having Chest Pains! If only they didnt Destroy those Great cars!! The Value of just ONE car from 70's alone in todays time...! I could KILL my parents-! Junking and Letting Cars go like they did ! Im at 1:04 mY heart is just broken here..!

  • Wrong aspect ratio.. Should be 2.35:1

  • Comment removed

  • Why do they sound like 4 cylinder ricers ?

Why is the road wet in one shot and not the next shot

Why is there a pile of dirt conveniently placed to jump a train and no roadwork signs warning of pile of dirt

Why etc etc etc , damn that was a low buget movie

  • @RReaper100 , great movie in my opinion and rare

  • might have been some influence from Gone in 60 seconds, but that is a 72 Mach 1, not a 67 GT 500?

  • @artfiend71 but in the original film from 1974 it was a yellow mach one

  • what a mad sound for this cars. hard roch would be better.

  • One of the best car chases in cinema. Good and dangerous stunt work of drivers, especially the jump one after another on hill and landing on the edge. Rather solid cars after such smashing : 1970 Buick Le Sabre and 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

Adore this chase and respect actor Stuart Whitman. Here he at his best

  • Love that gay flute music art 2;32...TOTALLY HILARIOUS counter to the violence on screen

  • C'est bon.

  • Is this a Buick LeSabre??

  • Whoever made this movie was influenced by H.J. "Toby" Haliki's original "Gone in 60 Seconds". (1974). Even using a 71-73 Mustang.

  • Some hairy-chested stunt drivers there

  • 0:17 sounds very v8ish

  • one of them, the one with only 1 light on each side is a mustang, maybe next time film prius vs mustang or charger, quickly make dead snotty eco box

  • what car is the sport one?

  • 1:54 FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:06 if i were the driver of the white rooftop car i would say "there is to much action in this city!"

  • 1:45-2:05 , let's see an import POS do that and keep going...

  • this totally looks like D:PL!

the dude in the patched car looks like TK, the red car that gets flipped looks like a Bonsai, they jump a train...

  • what lovely and inappropriate price is right showcase music plays at 2:27. The guy driving car number 2 has an awfully heavy brow.

  • GO Mustang! Built Ford Tuff!

  • apparently, all movies back in the 70s were just pure car chases and bashing the hell out of muscle cars. its a shame, but fun to watch. the original gone in 60 seconds movie was pure car chase. nothing else

  • They weren't icons back then, just cheap cars.

  • completely the wrong engine sounds for those cars

  • it sounds like f*cking renault citroen honda shit! what is wrong with this editor?

  • @billygoatUK they sound right. just like they do with stock mufflers

  • cant believe they fucked up that mustang, it would be worth like 50 thousand pound nowadays

  • I'm not a Ford guy in the least, but even I think it's a shame that fastback got trashed.

At least it went out in the most spectacular way possible instead of just rusting away in someone's backyard.

  • but the problem is this.. no1 would let a fastback rust away in there yard lol, n im not a ford guy either, but im a car guy and this is a waste of a stunning classic car, shame il never get to see one becuase im from the u.k

  • actually between 7000 and 20000 pounds.

  • "EAT MY MAGNUM"

  • ahaha you can see the ramps when they do the jump just before the 2 minute mark!!!

  • Around 4:12 you can see another ramp that just shows up out of nowhere.

  • Great car chase!

  • Was this set in Pasadena? That "Rose Bowl" sign brought it to mind...

  • Hello, it's Montreal Quebec Canada

  • damn, that was a nice fastback.

  • Why did they dub in 4 cylinder sounds?......

    Hollywood can be stupid sometimes.

  • street is wet then its dry then its wet then its dry

  • a car chase just isnt complete without american muscle

  • or a pile of carboard boxes xD

  • 1973 mustangs are my favorite cars in the world

  • oh my god this mustang is just nice!!!

  • like watching ballet :)

  • That's awesome, haven't seen a skylark like that in ages.

  • why destroy such cool cars tho

  • That is the whole damn point of a chse movie, arteddie. Either appreciate the hard work and effort that these people do or go on living your life as a pretentious poser.

  • haha, i still dont think it was worth while destroying these cool cars, unless they were knackered anyway. I'm all for the car chases etc, but wreck old bangers or something

  • this is 1976 be like us crashing two cars from 1996 no one looks twice at it

  • yes i agree but to be fair tho, these cars were very gd muscle cars. cars built in 1996 were just crap (especially american cars) that nobody would care bout. We wouldn't dream of crashing muscle cars nowadays. Nobody wants to see astin martins crashes etc. and then ones we do see being crashed tend to me mock cars.

  • Sweet, check those fresky eyebrows!

  • lol i had that same buick but a year newer. great car!

  • WHY IS EVERYTHING UPSIDE DOWN?!

  • Watching clips from this era reminds me of a time when fast cars were affordable.

I once owned a 1968 Camaro Rally Sport.

  • It's...okay, rather low quality chase, all gimmicks and cliche' are present.

But it's vintage American iron, and thats what matters!

  • Damn that was filmed in Montreal!! lol

Actually, the "Big jump" around 1:45 is the street right next to a school a went to lol.

  • Try this with new cars. they will brake in the first 20sec.

  • and 20 seconds is being generous.

  • @grabkreuzen I totoly agree

  • LOL 2:20..and now for your enjoyment we'll flip over a Lada XD.

  • as hokey as the sound and everything is i think seeing computer made bs on modern chases is a hundred times worse

  • that looks like their drifting but they cant be. drifting was invented a few years ago by chinks right?

  • Hate to tell you this, but drivers have been "drifting" during high speed driving for decades... the chinks got nothing on us when it comes to driving like a madman.

  • Nice eyebrows

  • horrible sound affects man horrible all the way thru

  • Good chase sequence, but what's with the dubbed over screaming four pot motors? Especially when the bent eight would have sounded a lot better in the first place!

Top action though, but I do wince a bit at seeing these old warriors getting wrecked!

  • Poor mustang.... Good chase

  • Muscle cars FOREVER!!!

  • Plot error: from rain-slick roads and cloudy skies to sunshine and dry pavement.

  • the guy in the buick shit himself on that front bumper jump

  • the 60s and 70s were all about their car chases.love em

  • They surely had a lot of pleasure and fun by driving for this film :D

  • This chase is bollocks. There's no decent narrative-it doesnt even look like a serious chase, just bashing up some cars for the sake of it.

  • Where is the V8 motor sound? Why do we hear this crappy little european engines wich are handshifted ???

    What a shit AUDIO !!!

  • Don't know if I already said this, but thanks Petje72 for these "golden age" chases --thought I had seen all since I ws a kid, but now all these great new (to me) chases. Esopecially like that one with the red '67 Camaro.

  • Whoa! Now thats a car chase from the old school! I cant believe I've never seen it!

  • this scene is off the chain!! it reminds me of H.B Halicki "gone in 60 seconds" and "vanishing point".

  • It's a different cut of the movie. duh.

  • keep the "duh" to yourself. don't need sarcasm, freddead!!!

  • nice mustang mach1

  • lol they both jump there cars and the guy in the 1970 or 1971 GTO like what the fuck ..
