i dont know which is a steeper hillside...off rue Hotel de Ville or off the edge of the N.D.G. Rose Bowl parking lot. Both get alot of "ass-in-the-airtime"
2:14 100 points for taking off the guy's jack & stealing his spare tire w/o getting out of the car!
Love the way the roads are soaking wet at 0:35 and then dry at 0:46 also, they keep coming back to that same intersection of St. Lawrence and St. Antoine. But a great scene nonetheless!
They don't do work like that anymore in hollywood, its all unrealistic CG crap that holds my suspension of disbelief for about eight seconds (before I flip the channel.) I love stuff like this.
69 Skylark prob had a 350 Buick 2v in it and the 71 or 72 Stang a 302 2v both cars sounded like they had a damn 4 banger. whoever edited the sounds shoulda been shot!
The music on the "Can Geico save you 15% or more on car insurance?....do dogs chase cats?" commercial is a thousand times better than the music they start using at 1:47 of this movie clip!
WOW fedormannjr...Did fpcurro just school you on a car that's been rusting in your driveway next to your Prius for ten years???? Tthe 350 was one of GM's biggest mistakes, get em hot once and throw em away... The 350 engine along with the 700r4 transmission is the reason I will never own a GM product again.
@FRDMANN27 Mind your own bee's wax Ford Boy. Obnoxious Canadians need not comment on real American muscle cars. The old GM monsters had powerglides, turbo 350s, and 400s. I pulled my powerglide and went with the 4 speed. That powerglide's great for the track though.
The Buick is a 68 Special Deluxe (poor man's Skylark). We can plainly see that the exhaust pipe is on the passenger side, which indicates that it has the 230hp 350 V8
BTW, the difference between the 230hp and the 280hp 350 was in the carburetor, but even with 230, still a torque monster! The Special Deluxe was only available with the 230hp version or the 155hp 250 straight 6, which would have the exhaust pipe on the drivers side. I know all this because I have owned a 68 Skylark for 10 years now, so I was thrilled to see this clip and the Geico commercial
@fpcurro You're in like company. I too have a 68 2 dr Skylark in my driveway that I've had about that long. I got ambitious and put a 73 455 in it,,,,, with some work done. I am mad at myself for letting that 350 go (it ran great) and letting a 70 wildcat get away from me<<<<< I would've dropped that stock 370 horse motor in my Lark rather than try to squeeze it out of the 73 motor. Are you still running the stock 350?
Thank goodness the train had a load of uncovered, unsecured, and empty cardboard boxes. That actually was a damn good chase, though. That shitbox Buick did pretty well for itself.
Don't worry that Mustang wasn't destroyed. I bet right now somebody has just dug into the 2000 pop rivets, road signs, and gallons of bondo some Used Car Dealer "Repaired" it with.
@quattro4kss I noticed that it was filmed downtown and Griffontown with St Henri too boot I think. For a Montrealer and old car lover, this even for the second time melts my butter!

Yes !! -This Masterpiece Delivers.
The 1970's... -No computer-generated crap ! This all had to be done for real !
Achieving these scenes for film was a real -demanding challenge in those wonderful days -Regardless of cost !
The real story here is about the stuntmen and the repeated risks they took -Just to get the scene 'right'.
-Everything in the perfectly controlled 'computer age' is worthless crap by comparison.
Audiences sense it...
