  • do you work with Bay Leaf and if you do which one?

  • is this nc

  • @hubbajuba I thought i recognized the tones. :D

  • Montgomery County, PA has a Computer back-up "dispatcher" for days when they are short or just swamped...let me tell you how horrible it is. It is unable to pronounce some street names or some township/borough names...in which case it either attemps to do it or just spells it out....kinda annoying if its 3am and you just woke up.

  • Hey! This is in Raleigh!!! I thought the CAD sounded familiar! haha Awesome, man.

  • I hate when the pager goes BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP..it scares the crap out of me when im sleeping sometimes. The tones are fine, but the beeping is so high pitched that when im sleep and even awake sometimes makes me jump, but its a fun job. STAY SAFE.

  • That is a 800 mhz simulcast on a VHF 154.190 frequency...I do not like it at all....I am a dispatcher in a neighboring county from Wake County and I cant stand to listen to it....but to each there own.....

  • In all my years, I've never heard of a computer dispatching by voice. I've learned something today. Can you key up the radio to talk to it?

  • @draedin, haha no, you can't talk to it. It's just part of the CAD system(computer automated dispatch). To make things short, this is a repeater of the actual channel everyone talks on for dispatch only. But this is a pager, not a radio.

  • @draedin this is fucking unbelevable

  • thats a minitor 4? looks sorta like a 5 haha. i got a shitty minitor 2 since im a junior T_T

  • @civicman241 Yup it's a minitor 4. The minitor 5s are slightly taller, wider, and much thicker. I'll try and track down another 4 and a 5 to compare them both to the minitor 3 I currently have... :-)

  • @hubbajuba u dont gotta haha i just couldnt tell cause like...all i see is the speakers and stuff cause of the lighting...and by the way, that sounds like it was a REAL fun call haha

  • Comment removed

  • @civicman241 well like....its a good pager but mine like..sometimes it randomly makes itself go "CSSSHHHHHHHH" without me hitting the button..and like....its not supposed to O_O but i got mine replacde cause my alert light on top was on ALL OF THE TIME..so..yeah haha

  • @civicman241 we call those ghost pages lol

  • @civicman241

whats wrong with the M2 ive had one forever and it still works better tha the M5's even!

  • @civicman241 Don't knock it - M2's arguably are the best yet. I had a department-issued M3 that was junk...nothing but static. Other members of my department spent the money on M4's and M5's and say they miss their M2's. I bought a M2 on Ebay for $30, already programmed to our freq. Popped in some tone reeds from an old pager, and VOILA! I am happier with my M2 than the other guys are with their $400+ pagers!

  • @live2ride2fast dont get me wrong..i like my minitor 2...and it IS a tank haha and can take damage...but like....id prefer to have the viberate and repeater functions cause i run QRS too...and with the repeater, i can get a second-check on the address without having to call dispatch on the radio...especially since at my station, most of us take personal vehicles on QRS calls

  • @civicman241 dont complain im a full member of my department and i have a Minitor 1

  • i love that sound

  • Thank god for live dispatchers

  • does it have a repeter

  • No, it is a Minitor 4. :-)

  • what firestation do you work at?

  • my does the same thing for rochester twp, PA but we have an actual speaker on our disbatch

  • thank god allegheny and westmoreland counties have real dispatchers

  • i agree Indiana county has real dispatchers also

  • yeah we do lol

  • i agree. the computer ones just dont sound right

  • I was a little surprised that they had the omputer dispatch like that. I know that when I was in Broward County, FL they had those on the trunked system, and I've heard them in Dallas and Denver. How much did they pay for that setup where this page came in from and where is this from?

  • The page was for a department in Raleigh, Nc. Unfortunately I don't know much about the system, like how much they paid or who made it, but if I find it out, I'll be sure to post it for ya... :-)

  • Interesting. I know the newer computer voices are coming into a lot of places, but I had been under the impression that larger cities had those.

  • good vidieo, but i like human disbatchers more

  • lol i gotta laugh i like my human dispatchers

  • JEZZZZZ Think it was long enough!! when you page out you need to get that shit out not pause after every other word. Too much computer involved here!

  • u dont know though.....over here in the raleigh fire dept (wich is where hubbajubba lives) the pager like that goes off and the printer shoots out a peice of paper during the dispatch with all the info u need to know on it : tac channel, what the problem is, adress, cross roads etc... but the dispatch is just fine very little errors occur unlike more of a human dispatcher can be a little bit more difficult to under stand

  • Not only does Raleigh have the Rip-N-Go system, they also have the Alpha numeric pagers that give them all the information that they need so if they need to know even on the go... But what John is saying is right, It does cut down on human error and gets the needed information out quickly...

  • oh yeah i forgot bout that too! thanks =]

  • Nothing beats a human dispatcher, why did they go automated?

  • Does the computer always dispatch you like that?

  • Yes

  • That's so weird :P

  • Its stupid too.

  • 14601 Creedmoor Rd.

  • hey hubbajubba you still got your freind that is selling his minitor 4 or 5 for a cheap price?

  • not anymore, I bought it from him. Sorry man. ;-(

  • ok wtf did the dispatch just say

  • drowning

  • hey thats sounds like rfd station 28 i live right by it and i memorized their tone whos tone is that?

  • computer actuated dispatch ... god bless fuzzy logic & not to mention random glitches.

  • WHOA i live near here! anyways can you please reply and tell me that model i would like to buy one and how much are they? i live in raliegh so any location and price will be good thanks

  • Its a Minitor IV, i got mine for like 220

  • WE HAVE MINITOR V"S

  • yay minitor v is where its at

  • wish we had automated.

  • WOW sounds like mine haha

  • cool it sounds like a robot dispatching lol

  • thats cuz it is a robot

  • no, ours is automated with a computer voice.

  • thats good until you get a road like ashphotagh or schaghticoke

  • true, but that's what the alpha-numeric pagers are for...

  • true

  • is that actually a dispatcher?
