Very serious if you can't repair it yourself, eventually the bearing will seize, then every time you push the clutch it will stall the engine.
This is one thing you can not let go, if you do need to drive the car try to push the clutch as little as possible.
This problem happens 2 ways 1 you keep or rest your foot on the clutch while driving. or 2 someone adjusted the clutch and removed the small gap(Play) in the clutch causing the bearing to be in constant motion, 50 miles will do it.
Turns out it was the throwout bearing going, which is a must-repair. Since getting to the transmission is such a pain, you really might as well buy the clutch kit and replace the pressure plate and clutch disc as well.
I am in the process of doing that, switching to a single mass flywheel, and putting in a new center bearing and some shifter linkage parts. I will put up videos of the project when it is finished to show people what I did.
