  • 'you're working on.'

  • Holy shalt !!!, I thought slackmastercg was bullsh1tting, she really is going to give someone that crap! Her "girlfriend". DADT

  • the friend that wood carving is for is watching this thinking , " oh shit..we're gonna have to hang up that ungodly thing when she comes over now"

  • what you should do is apply the polyurethane and then let it dry and take steel wole over it to take out the bubbles

  • can polyurethane apply over latex paint?

  • so I bought some spray on polyurethane to finish up some guitar projects and was wondering if the polyurethane would lock moisture into the wood?

  • @JYZProductions Yes! Use a natural oil (tung or linseed) if you want the wood to breath. Check out landark finishes- awesome company! They have a ton of products that allow wood to breath.

  • ive been told the sponge can make air bubbles so you should probably go with the brush

  • @stover81291

Your right, both sponge and those foam rollers will leave air bubbles. You can apply

the polyurethane with them but finish it witha good quality brush strokes

  • So if bought a 2010 Fender American Stratocaster, sanded off the satin finish then added a single coating on the neck and headstock, will the wood look vintage?

  • reason ask about 2 kinds of polyurethane is, im doing a patch up on my guitar and the work will be makin taped off but it will touch the other work that was on the guitar when i bought it and if the 2 polyurethanes varnishes are not identical i.e water base and regular will it go bad like when you put lacquer near regular varnish

  • a light sanding with very fine grit sandpaper between coats helps with adhesion. My girlfriend would love that sign you made :)

  • What if I wanted to use a spray on polyurethane. Does that make it harder to get on even, and is the process still the same

  • really nice job showing how to use poly properly! My Dad is a woodworker and I have worked with it many times over the years. I wish I had a tutorial like this back in the beginning! Great Job!

  • At lease now I can use polyurethane as I didn't really know who to use it. The hardware store just says to read the label. Thanks. Also how come you use a foam brush instead of the bristle brush?.
