  • These guys were BIG PIMPIN' way before Jay-Z. By the look of things. (laugh)

  • @verminslayer

Actually Robert Palmer was the big pimp at the time.Yet very elegant.

  • Nothin like Good Old Rock N' Roll.

  • wrap....wrap...wrap wrap wrap wrap it up!

  • It's Kim Wilson and he's one hip cat.

  • He's real real gone.

  • No, he looks like Kevin James...

  • the singer looks like paul Simon :=D ...

  • Sounds like Tom Jones though. :)

  • I was twelve or thirteen when this video came out on MTV. It was my introduction to a certain practice that will remain unsaid. The Anne Bancroft look-a-like was/is my favorite. I'm now 37,a committed Staxified, Tele-Cropper Soul Man and I'm burnin.'

  • I love 80's music!!!!!

  • yep, American dad is exactly why i looked this video up

  • I second that :D

  • Greetings from American Dad...

  • wrap it up

  • Can someone please post How Do You Spell Love?

  • could this be anymore kitschy? lol this was so john waters for me , maybe we just needed a velvet painting of Elvis or like a big bowl of ambrosia salad and some leopard print in there

  • What a flock of beautiful birds!!!

  • He picks the 53 Skylark! Good choice

  • I was a show sometime back that the fact was that the bands rarely if ever dated the women and most times they were there on diffrent days and never even saw each other

  • Hey I didn't know the guy on those pizza boxes had a band.

Seriously though, these guys should have a lot more mainstream recognition than they do. They're awesome musicians and their music's really timeless. Kim Wilson's voice is great.

  • Saw them live when I was a kid (same line up as in the video). Unforgettable. Even if I have outgrown the music. I still have the piece of paper with their autographs somewhere, lol.

  • I never knew Tom Jones was the lead singer of this band, lol.

  • Silly cunt

  • That's what I thought! ;)

  • I'm sooo excited to go see Preston next weekend in St. Louis! My dad was a CBS exec, so we just re-united after about 20 yrs!Anyone in the area go see Prez at Hammerstones.

  • I thing it is interesting that just about all of the famous blues bands from the past 30 years have been white. Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan grew up in Oak Cliff, which was once a predominantly black section of Dallas. Did that have anything to do with it?

  • YES IT DID.

  • lowaystar:

Yes, of course. But the best blues or blues/rock American musicians came from the South, White and Black. Janis Joplin was from Texas, too. Mississippi was the mother lode, the Mississippi/Chicago bluesmen taught it to the world, and the rest is history. I have a pet theory that the best British rock bands started by imitating Delta/Chicago blues until they found their own voices. (so to speak) What do you think?

  • you are probably right, ray davies' hero was big bill broo???

the stones stole all they could

  • @joerexlily

Yeah. As for the Stones, my sole complaint is not that they "stole" anything, but that they aren't great musicians. Acknowledging the Delta/Chicago bluesmen who inspired him isn't theft, nor is the the demand made on their first US tour. Sorry, Mick, you can't fill Howlin' Wolf's size 13

    shoes :D

  • kim wilson the the 'birds are arguably one of the best blues acts to be around over the last 20 yrs... he's a helluva performer

  • Salud!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing how the image of "beautiful" has changed over the years.

  • @CannedPeanuts yea into a less clothes, more camera time phenomenon :(

  • @CannedPeanuts

Yes. it's all gone to shit. The women in this vid are Real Women.

  • @CannedPeanuts

beautiful never changes, only the fools opinions in magazines.

  • Wow, what a song!!! The riff really gets under my skin! This really is "powerful stuff" ;)

  • good music. agreed.

  • Maybe I was more mature for my age back when I was a teen, but I knew what "It" was right away.

    Love this song!

  • awesome song! This video came out right around my 14th birthday in the summer of 1986. :D

  • what is "it" . what are they wrapping up? what are they taking??? i dont understand this is so confusing!!

  • i never understood what the song meant either, i just love the song. :)

  • Listen to the lyrics. "put your loving in my box" They are singing about a womans' love. It isn't hard to understand. Check out the original version by "Sam and Dave". This video however has better audio, so "wrap it up, I'll take it" Hope this explanation helped you

  • thanks for explaining the lyrics, I remember when this song first came out, i knew exactly what he was talking about..i didnt know sam and dave originally sanged it though

  • Love my friend. That's what "it" is. Listen to the songs lyrics. A womens love. That's the "it".

  • It is the thing you say in a shop when you see something you want to buy. You tell the sales person : wrap it up, I'll take it.

It is not meant literally in this song...

  • jeez.. its so obvious

  • it's a call for safe sex, clearly he's asking for penetration

  • cool song

  • Danka!
