  • My Mom is a boomer. She's 65, overweight, and an idiot.

    So much for the boomers....

  • own it, love it but "ben" is a terrible actor.but the story and the developpement of it makes up for it.this movie is for people who were there or young adult who are still trying to find themself.

if anyone knows the name of the song

( tell me who s flesh is weak tell me who s will of iron tellm me who can count the stars the stars of orion....ect)

  • SOUND IS FUCKED

  • If you freakin' love the sixties like me then watch the movie The 60's, amazing movie...it really puts me right in that time era..its great! I can see by not watching this movie but just by the trailer, that is probably has unnecessary sex seens constantly, and just more about this one person than a movement.

  • hey, Bobby! It's Marie from Vancouver:) I just signed up on YouTube and here you are!

  • This movie sucked.

    And I LOVE the sixties.

But this was a horrible representation of a life changing era.

  • tom mroello and hanry winkler..must be a good movie! :P

  • Darling.....

your baby boomer days are over...

move aside and take to the paddock like the rest of you should.

You and and your cronies fucked up this planet with your out of control egos, vanity and greed.

You all insist on rehashing the so called 'revolution' ad infinitum as if anyone cares at all HOW you fucked it up.

    Your film is Hollywood nonsense.

You claim love and peace, then milk it for decades to make a buck!

The statement of your film was made when you cast the fonz as your dad!

  • what are your credentials for your negativity? I mean, what have you done more than me to preserve the planet. Who are my cronies? Have you seen my film? Do you know the difference between a Hollywood Film and any other? Why are you so limited to see the human being, Henry Winkler, as only one character he portrayed? Do you know anything about acting? And my biggest question is, "How can you criticize a film you've never seen?"

  • Have you ever criticized a film you haven't seen? "Let the generation without sin cast the first stone"???

Anyway, not so much criticizing the film as the ideas behind it. Like: the delusion that the peace movement had any impact other than letting boomers lie that "we stopped the war".

Or that the boomers dug drugs, then spent trillions failing to stop their kids do the same.

Meanwhile destroying the planet in RVs while drinking GM-free soy lattes.

This film is a totem. No more false idols!

  • Your hot headed arrogance is the negativity that i am referring to.

Has any one taught what negativity means?

    Or humility for that matter.

By reading all these comments, your ego looks very ugly, unfounded, as your skill is common.

Wasn't your latest Hollywood flop based on a novel by Brittney Spears on the joys of motherhood?

You don't actually know who I am, what I know or have done in the film industry.

It is a sound rule in any industry to show respect, as never know who will end up where.

  • May I tell you how impressed I am with your contributions to the planet? Are we so better off today or are you still blaming another generation? At what age do you take responsibility? And, no I have never judged a film without watching it.

  • @wgmcs You know nothing, the hippies, the libertarian hippies in reality thrived on bringing this country back to the way it originally was, capitalist and constitutional, the hippie revolution was the first true spark against the government and thousands upon thousands of Americans who were against a pointless war that didn't need to be fought united. Sure these days are over, but because of people like you we're lucky it ever even started.

  • Revisionist historical fiction meets musicvideo fantasy in "Berkeley" a middle class biopic with little controversy, too much clothing and some good songs.

Yet another celebration of baby boomers - the generation that (continues to) fill the world with self-obsession and delusions of ongoing vitality. When are these guys gonna vanish up their own spectacular rear ends and do the universe a favor?

Bobby never smoked in the 60s? Didn't you just slip it in once, even if you didn't inhale?

    XXX

  • Funny, but I never said I didn't inhale... I do marvel at people who critique movies without seeing more than a clip. It seems the problems are with the writer... and I'm sympathetic, but attacking my entire generation because of these "ills" is pretty risky business. Let the generation without sin cast the first stone.

  • is this movie out where can i get it

  • It just came out and is in Hollywood Videos now

  • Rothbobby you are stupid

  • lol theres TOm Morello FTW XD

  • I went to Berkeley. I came out more conservative than ever once I graduated. Is anyone ever going to write about the hundreds of thousands of Berkeley students who went to Berkeley to *study*? I guess that doesn't make good film. Better to stereotype the Berkeley thing over and over and over.

I miss sitting outside Wheeler hall, smoking a cigarette, and watching all the people go by, though...

  • Anyone dumb enough to smoke isn't really a very intelligent critic

  • Thank you, Health Nazi. That's about the dumbest thing I've read in a week or so. I smoke, so I can't have an opinion on something? FDR smoked, so I guess he wasn't qualified to be president...Barack Obama smoked, so I guess he's also too dumb to be president...

  • You're comparing yourself to someone who smoked 60 years ago? If you think smoking is smart, given what we now know, you really are stupid.

  • Thank you, Health Nazi. That's about the dumbest thing I've read in a week or so. I smoke, so I can't have an opinion on something? FDR smoked, so I guess he wasn't qualified to be president...Barack Obama smoked, so I guess he's also too dumb to be president...

  • Well that's about the stupidest thing I've ever heard ever.

  • Ugh... why does every film about college have to have shots of UCLA?

  • Isn't that USC? They've filmed movies on the Berkeley campus, why couldn't they go there for the real thing? Not that I'm going to watch this piece of crap.

  • We did go to Berkeley

  • looked like Berkeley to me

  • ditto for me... I see Sather Gate and a few buildings I recognize

  • Well they got a shot of Sather Gate but I'm almost positive the riots in "Sproul" are USC because the same area was used in another movie.

  • true,we shot at both schools

  • Obama was smoking as of two years ago, and you have to be pretty stupid to think inhaling smoke is a "good" thing. It's not like FDR didn't know smoking was bad for him, either.

I still don't understand how the fact that I used to smoke disqualifies me from having an opinion, unless *you're* smoking something *else*... :-)

And wow, man, really, I thought smoking was great for me. Are you serious? It's bad for you? Oh my God! Thank you! I thought they were full of vitamins.

  • You're pretty funny. You were the one bragging how you enjoyed sitting around, smoking a cigarette, and that Berkeley made you more conservative. You do know that was not actually what happened to most of us, don't you? Most of us had our eyes opened. Do you really believe the Viet Nam war was a positive moment in our history? Do you really believe that George Bush has been an excellent president?

  • I don't see how saying I liked watching the people go by and having a smoke is bragging...yes, I'm well aware that my Berkeley experience was different from yours and from most others'.

I just liked to people-watch outside of Wheeler Hall and have a cigarette. That's all I'm trying to say, man. I don't think you're a bad guy or anything, I just think that for someone who is preaching about having your mind opened to new ideas, you're awfully close-minded.

  • (continued...)

I'm sorry I have different opinions. I hope you understand that I respect *your* opinions. Berkeley is a great university; I commend you as a fellow alum, and I hope that you took a lot away from the experience. I'm sorry I disagree with you on other things. I also hope your film does very well; I know how much emotion is poured into a project like this, and I commend you on your achievements.

You don't sound like a bad guy -- stop making yourself look like such a jerk, man.

  • Okay, let's agree to disagree. I have to opine that telling someone they are close-minded and that they're acting like a jerk doesn't pave the wave for meaningful discourse, but I'd prefer to respect each other, so let's let it go at that, okay?

    Best,

    Bobby

  • I thoroughly understand. Once more, I wish you the best of luck with the project. I really do. I also hope you had a lot of fun while you were actively engaged in making the movie. And I don't think you're close-minded or a jerk; I was merely saying the posts were making you sound like one. I understand exactly what you are saying. I love Berkeley, and I love the people at Berkeley.

Again, I wish you my best.

  • there are no shots of UCLA

  • I go to Berkeley and I would love to love this, but it looks like it fulfills every single "middle class boy meets drugs, sex, and alcohol and starts a revolution against the Man" stereotype of all time. Plus, that is some shitty acting.

But hey, at least the music's good.

  • city* whatev

  • how can you judge acting from a trailer?

  • well after seeing the actual movie, I have to say the main character was a pleasure to watch. good actor, great guitar player, handsome.

    and henry winkler? priceless.

  • you judge acting from clips?

  • why does everyone have to use stereotypes ah they piss me off but ya this looks good

  • Marxist propaganda romanticising "the 60's" (TM) (c) when the marxists and their agents/useful idiots had their fake NWO-orchestrated "revoltuion" and Universities ceased to be Universities and became indoctrination camps.

  • Playing now on the Big Screen in LA at the Sunset Lemmle 5! May be for only 1 week starting 10/12/07. Great performances, great looking girls and the Music kicks some serious ass! Don't Miss out!!!

  • umm this isnt emo. at all. but thats cool anyway. its hippie, opposite of emo.

  • why are is everyone so negative about all this stuff, cant you just exept it and if you dont like it just ignore it.

  • This looks cool.

  • Stop, hey what's that sound hhahhAHAHAHHA they use that song

    very original...you guys suck

  • This movie looks absolutely horrible.

im so ready for all this emo shit to just go away!

  • how the fuck is this emo?
