would really have to agree.... sorry everyone =/...it just doesnt sound natural or graceful (let alone ravel) like. when i hear this i dont see a waltz i see a dance with heavy wooden clogs =/.
can there be a misunderstanding in impressionism ? everyone has different interpretations of pieces, im merely saying that i would rather hear this piece more waltz like. and lets say a bit surrealistic and dreamy. sorry if you feel that way =/
you're missing the point. Ravel wrote that piece in 1919, after he did the 1rst world war. It's a deconstructed waltz. He wanted to express the atrocities of the war (you can hear bombs exploding at some points). And since 1918 marks the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it is, in a way, the last vienna waltz.
I love his performance!!! it's amazing!!!
...I hate the quality!!!!!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Every note sticks out like a bach fugue. It's kind of gross. And every feature is exaggerated to death.
Bad, bad performance.

I simply can't get enough of your playing of this piece, it's one of the best I've heard, and watched. Bravo!

Beautiful interpretation. Actually, it's now become one of my favorite interpretations. Love the way he emphasizes the romantic aspects of the piece.
