Actually, ECW created Steve Austin. Steve was using the basic "Stone Cold" like gimmick under the "Superstar Steve" gimmick. Basically just an extension on the real Steve Austin

you know whats really fucking funny? dixie did a dvd called you shoot live with dixie carter they asked her about vince russo and she said anytime the crowd was chanting fire russo or russo sucks during a segment that WHATEVER that segment was russo had no relation to it and once she had lost her temper about it one day and yelled at the creative team that someone was going to lose their job if she heard that chant again. i wish i was making that up but im not.

Still, it must be Russo's current time in TNA that's making Cornette jealous. Even though TNA is crawling along the bottom of the seabed in the ocean of TV ratings.
Somehow, I think it's kind of difficult to feel jealous of Vince Russo. Who wants to have Russo's reputation as the worst booker in professional wrestling history? Anyone?

@CMY187 You're forgetting about WWE. Cornette was booking Raw, it sucked, so McMahon replaced him with Russo, who did it 10 times better.
At the beginning, Russo increased WCW's ratings. Not only that, but he was making half a million dollars a year. You wouldn't be jealous of that?

Gene Okerland famously said of Vinnie Russo`s time in WCW that all he did was add about $750.000 to the bottom line in the form of his personal salary, all of his ideas were stupid most of his angles didn`t make sense and he tried to push people (Jeff Jarrett) who didn`t deserve it only because they were his buddies not because of their talent or their ability to draw.

That's not the point. The point is Russo was still paid $750,000 per year, something Jim Cornette could never get in his lifetime. Obviously, Cornette has a lot to be jealous about.
Also, Russo pushed everybody in WCW.

Cornette was making plenty of money in the 80s bro. You could at least do some research. His starrcade scaffold match alone earned him a 5 figure payoff...a 5 figure payoff for ONE match so cornette has obviously made some big money if he can earn a 5 figure payoff for one PPV. Also, pushing everyone means jack shit if they amount to nothing. He pushed Billy Kidman and that amounted to absolutely nothing except being buried.
