  • Great Mike!!!

  • Please somebody take that awful man Gay Byrne out of the equation , he has no more interest in our culture than the man in the moon

  • I was just sitting next to Martin Hayes at Minogues on Dec. 31st. Nice!

  • Was just sitting next to Martin Hayes in Minogues - nice!

  • Superb playing, Great dancing . Thanks for this great post Mike. ☺

  • Wow fair dues to the dancers, there's life in the auld dog yet as the fella says. Great performance, very enjoyable nice to see smiles all round and the audience enjoying it. Them's were the days

  • That is Martin Hayes playing fiddle back there, can't mistake his hair....:)

  • It is an understatement to talk about 'lift' when referring to this band...every note by each and every band member blends so perfectly..emphasis is placed without even thinking.....maybe this is the reason they are adored.

  • cmon tulla!!!!!

  • you always post the nicest things Mike!....so glad I found you on FB!

  • The first tune is "P Joe's," and the second one the band calls "The Mountain Lark," which is a version of "The Steam Packet." I thought I recognized Paddy King, too, ainelucie.

The Tulla is a tremendous band to dance to because of the lift and the SWING!!!

  • I believe that's Martin Hayes

  • There is so much good about this video, it makes up for all the other internet transgressions. I love that the dancers make mistakes and dress like normal people who are going to be on TV, and not like New Age Celitc Fairies.

  • great lift in the music. great ceili band

  • What year is the program?I seem to recognise my friend Paddy King of Kilmihil in first tops.

  • Year 1996 ☺

  • who is dancing?

  • Many thanks

  • Tapping my foot to the music

  • Great stuff, the best ceili band ever!!!

  • bello, belo. bello

  • To what extent is the "martin hayes" sound only him and to what extent is it the rest of the band as well?

  • What a pleasure.....by far my favorite band!

  • Brilliant post Clarebanner man ! As always ;-)

    Thanks !

  • Truly great stuff there from one of the all time best ceili bands. In my opinion, a much more pleasurable band than the Kilfenora (who are so often parred against the Tulla, and vice versa.)

Cracking set of reels too: Farewell to Old Decency and The Mountain Lark I think they are. The second one, if not the mountain Lark, is the Steampacket played lower and in a different mode.

  • i was told the 1st tune was called P Joes in honor of martin hayes' father, then again i could be wrong

  • what a band, a pleasure to dance to. u can feel the music as well as hear it.....

  • Round the House !!!

  • Brilliant!! Love it x

  • We want ....

    .... MORE, MOORE, MOOORE !

    best regards,

    Michael
