Surah Al Fatiha, is the first surah of the Noble Qur'an, and the most powerful du'a I've ever experienced, there is a high possibility that this could be an indication of praying it as a du'a before reciting the Qur'an, this is supported by the positioning of the surah (in the Qur'an) and the name.
