  • i dont have enough blueberries and the only other fruit i have is strawberries. would strawberry muffins taste ok?

  • Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid your muffins from raising up to the side instead of in the middle?

  • I would leave the dough to rest a little, at warm temperature, to allow it to expand a little, and then place in it, the blueberries, after that placing the dough in the backing paper and cook them.

You'll see, it's a big difference in size and texture, they become a little fluffy.

  • nice but i have qus..why are you using sour cream ???

  • @Anuradha2413 Don't ask, just follow the cayenne.

  • I had fresh blue berries but I froze them a week ago, will they still work for this recipe? And if they do, should I thaw them first or just toss 'em in?

  • @MyLlamaDrama just toss em in. we use frozen blueberries at my culinary school all the time.

  • hey use room temperature butter budddyyyyyyy!! I forgot your not a girl. you don't usually bake.

  • :''(

  • I love blueberry muffins they rock!!!

  • Is there a huge difference between canned and fresh blueberries?

Because they don't really sell blueberries where I live so I might be able to find canned.

  • Would this work if i exchanged the blueberries for chocolate chips? to make chocolate chip muffins?

  • what if i dont have baking power, i only have baking soda

  • @smoky281 totally different, it u use one instead of the other u will mess up the ph (chemistry of the dish) and ur muffins will not rise

  • Made this. It was really good, but the America's Test Kitchen recipe is a lot better.

  • mmmm, just made a batch of these for an 11/11/11 party tomorow...

  • chef john you are just pure awesome

  • i wanna lick the spoon

  • thanx!

  • with the sour cream, how long would u say these muffins would last at room temp?

  • Can I leave out the blue berries. I'm allergic to them :/

  • @SeiraChii Probably. Or substitute with another berry. Maybe black berries? I have no idea if that would be good though..

  • @spenspen99 ahah i did so weird

  • I don't believe in paper lining...

  • I can't find the recipe? I go onto the link but it brings me to a page and it gives me a recipe for : Coconut Milk Red Curry Beef Short Ribs and Cauliflower - A Classic American Curry

    ??

  • Just tried the recipe - they taste AMAZING! I'm a cooking disaster by the way, so this is like the ultimate success for me. Thanks chef John!

  • Hey Chef, Just made this (well I halved the recipe because I only had a cup of fresh blue berries). Deee-frickin-licoious. The lemon zest makes this in my opinion, don't leave it out if you are gonna make this people. Now Im going to re-heate some creamy garlic potato soup that you posted the other day and call it lunch. Thanks!

  • Yes, I posted a video response to this recipe as well. I hope you accept it, Chef John.

    -Your best fan

  • can i use canned blue(or other)berries?

  • I have finals for my baking class and this video helped me out a lot. Thnx Chef John.

  • Chef John,

A huge THANK YOU for this recipe!

I just got these out of the oven 15 minutes ago, and they've turned out amazing! I live in Greece where nobody's heard of blueberry muffins and blueberries only live in the freezer section of elite stores - if you're lucky. So, I've had huge cravings for blueberry muffins since my last visit to the UK a year ago. But even with frozen berries, these taste plain fantastic, and I'll be able to make them myself as often as I please. Thank you so much!!!

  • Excuse me, why do you need baking powder and also baking soda?

  • @sia4president Since all-purpose flour is being used you need both baking soda and baking powder to help the muffins rise... Hope this helped :)

  • im sorry but your electric mixer look strangely cute! idk y

  • J'ai faim !

  • No specifics as to HOW MUCH of the ingredients you need!

  • @lowkeyisme23cliff

2:16 link in description, think next time :)

  • Is there a difference between a cupcake tray and a Muffin tray ??

  • im a kid who wants to cook typed in my name on a game and it brought me here T_T i suddenly wanna be a chef

  • The first video I ever ran into upon discovering Chef John/FoodWishes. This is a historic moment for me...

  • Could some-one explain to me which recipes have heat-transfer to produce them?

I need to cook two (simple) recipes that will take maybe 2 hours in total for my GCSE in D.T Food and I'm lost on what recipes I should choose. I really want to make something sweet, desert .et.c But I have no idea if that goes under convection, conduction or radiation if your making something such as this. Would putting it in the oven count as a heat transfer method?

Suggest to me two simple recipes please! Thanks

  • @ridemountain151 he says, "all the ingredients are on the site" you're the jackass

  • 1st time watching but so enjoy and amazing surprised how easy you made. Lovin it

you didnt think, thats the problem. puns ftw

  • I ate all my blueberries earlier; I wish I'd fucking seen this before, it looks incredible.

  • Hey,

another classic american recipe, very cool!

Again, real easy to make and they look so good!

I need to try this on the weekend, next to Doughnuts, but i will use frozen Blueberries, should be better than from a jar..

I love Blueberry Muffins, i usually made them from a box (yes, shame on me..) please forgive me..

    Joe from Germany

P.S. Hi and byebye to Betty Cr*cker ;-)

  • well; thanks, but that's not the problem; i mean the calculator on win 7 there already has an imperial converter included, but that point is that it would b easier for viewers to better understand :)

  • THNAK YOU THANK YOU!!! I love making things from scratch....simple and sweet. great video! :)

  • I love your videos. Short, sweet, and to the point

  • can u make some sweet potato fritters, & will it be ok 2 use potatos out of the can?

  • @blkjackieo

No offense but Potatos from a can or a jar really suck... just cook fresh Potatos for about 20 - 25 minutes and it's no work at all...

    Joe from Germany

  • Thank you for this chef john, we have about a 1/4 of an acre devoted to blueberrys at my house. Some bushes are taller than I am and I'm 6'6". We have so many we don't know what to do with em'. Thanks for the recipe!

  • I am SO gonna make this next weekend!

  • AS ALWAYS>>>>> YUMMMMMMY!!!!!!

  • how to make weed brownies?!!?!?

  • @wdp11683 pretty easy. You make them like any other brownies. The only difference is that you use pot butter, instead of regular butter. That is butter with marijuana extract. Not only can you make brownies, you can make ANYTHING that calls for butter.

Very easy. It just takes about an ounce of pot to make them good. Use good pot too. Now Swag brownies! Look up directions online for making marijuana or pot butter. It's pretty easy. Takes over an hour to extract it, though.

  • chef john i miss your old way of making videos! we want to see every step, not just the final shots.!

  • so much better (wayyyyy better) than store bought muffins.
