1. nice shoes Sara! Gold is new.2. seeing this was sad because Urban Method left and I loved them and their music.!!!3. They rock so much the first time I saw them I just new that I wanted them to win. I LOVE URBAN METHOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It wasn't until I watched this video that I realized just how good these guys are. They were never my favorite but after listening to all of their songs, I have a lot more respect for them as musicians. I hope they find a way to stick around.
I think Urban Method is awesome I hope we haven't heard the last of them it would be a shame. Mike's freestyle is sooo good I can't even imagine how good it would be with there own material. Katie's voice will be a lot better after she gets some maturity behind it. Love me some Urban Method!!!
Thank you for putting this together! Right now it's the closest thing to a Urban Method album. I was really impressed with this group. They don't sound a cappella and their arrangements always leave you wanting more.
@Asainkid4life Main reason is cause they had a gimmick, the lead rapper in an a capella group....though they didn't feature him in all songs. The songs where the chicks were the leads hurt them the most I think.
For the first time, I thought that the winner of the sing off was the correct winner, but Urban Method was really good, what killed them imho was Airplane, I agreed totally that the girls didn't own the song properly. However, Just can't get enough was probably the third best performance this season (I am a huge fan of Delilah's Grenade). It simply was perfect. Katie really came along throughout the season though, like sgnorush said, she just seemed to grow throughout.
The judges always cited their production skills as a main factor to their success. Though you couldn't exactly hear that in their live performances, after listening to their Christmas song from The Sing Off Christmas Album, it's easy to see that they could take acapella to the masses, something that only them and Pentatonix could do.
@bronzekitty26 I agree. People were pretty closed-minded to UM. I think a lot of Sing-Off fans dislike rap and/or hip-hop culture. Personally, I thought they were one of the best groups.
@mikemanthesuperhero You're right, people seem like they had a hard time accepting them. I didn't really like hip-hop myself, but they made me start liking it. I think they were one of the best groups, too, plus they have a style that could sell.
@mikemanthesuperhero The lead female vocal was overrated and they got chosen into the finals over groups that were much better than them. The only valuable members of this group were Troy the bass, the rapper, and the beatboxer/sound effects. btw I listen to underground hip hop more than anything else.
@bronzekitty26 because people thought they were overrated and they were chosen into the finals over many other groups that were much better than them.
For those wanting to see an example of Troy Horne singing lead inside a more normal A Capella format check out ?v=RCOvDlRiefc for a WAY better Sam Cooke cover than Afro Blue performed.
Troy Horne was easily one of the most talented people in the entire competition. Their beatbox and other bass are REALLY solid as well. The blond girl is fine so long as she can stay in a comfortable alto range and absolutely kills when doing blues.
I'm still basically of the opinion that they could ditch half the group, grab a decent soprano from Delilah and run the whole competition next season.
Watch this whole thing. Listen to Katie. Doesn't she sound weaker? Throughout the competition, she discovered talent she never knew she had. Even thought Pentatonix deserved the win, they still made a huge improvement. I do not think we have seen the last of them. They'll pop up again somewhere. Trust me.
I thought they were okay, during the season, but like them more now. I wish more performances were like their first one.

Watching this, I don't really understand why some people seem to hate Urban Method so much.

I still think the men are the true talent of this group. They would have had a lot more fans if they realized that.
