No it's not a preference when you try to state shit as if it were a fact. Keyword "SOME". My preference is that America and Canada produce the best metal around with bands like Death, Cynic, Atheist, Augury, Quo Vadis, Martyr, and The Absence. Music is a universal language. Doesn't seem like you can speak it.

I mean anything from glam and pop metal of the 80's to emo metal and trendy deathcore of today. You look around in Europe, it doesn't have that much. it's all awesome here, natural beauty, uber nice people, the only thing that sucks is that when tours happen, we get the shit-covered end of the stick. It's already bad enough that this is North America (less tours), the fact that it's Canada makes the matter only worse. Canadian tours don't really cover much, just like 5/6 cities. I'll be sleeping somewhere on the street (vulnerable to getting mugged or stabbed) on Katatonia night as it's happening in Van-city, not the island.

What I'm saying is, both have their bads, and the problem isn't just with the american attitude, I'm not stereotyping because I clearly say MOST OF THEM, not ALL OF THEM, you'd have to be fucking blind to have missed that. I'm also saying i do listen to a little handful of the american acts that are worth listening to. Both have their stereotype crappy bands, but the European acts that I have come to listen to deliver far better than their American counterparts.

Culturally, however, Scandinavia is used for all Nordic countries, including Finland and Denmark, sometimes Iceland. Finnish people tend to think about Finland as part of Scandinavia, while many Swedes and Norwagians think about the mountains first. Fennoscandia is a nice word but not practical in common use since it's basically just Finland + Scandinavia.
