We now have clear grounds to impeach Obama. He is blatantly ignoring the ruling of a federal court by continuing to implement a law that has been ruled unconstitutional.
@CetraTJ Maybe if you didn't act like spoiled brats, gobbing up every junk food item you could lay your hands on and feasting on prescription pills like there's no tomorrow, you wouldn't have to spend 15% of GDP on healthcare (that's twice as much as the average for developed countries, which indeed have a public healthcare sector). Anyway, your system is broken and Obama is not even trying to introduce anything remotely similar to our European public healthcare systems.
@rubenximenes I agree, except your trying to pigeon hole every american with your bullshit holier than thou attitude. Junk food and prescription drugs are a symptom of bad healthcare as well as a proponant.
@CetraTJ Of course I'm being exaggerated, but you'd have to agree with me that a significant portion of US population does have a lifestyle that potentiates ever-rising healthcare problems and costs. Factor in the retiring baby-boomers and you have a recipe for disaster.
For instance, here in Portugal, much "poorer" than USA, our median life expectancy is higher (thanks to the presence of olive oil, fish, vegetables, fruit, etc, in our traditional food), although we spend far less.
If the ENTIRE healthcare bill gets repealed along with the patriot act, it will give us confidence that the Constitution may still be respected and taken seriously in Congress.
the judge/the JUDGE did the right thing--think clearly of the constitutional issues involved. So there can be no objective doubt that Obamacare is unconstitutionfal, much worse, really socialistic, an unamerican actitvity to the core, if it has any core, no, it doesn't, it's just jellyfish belly up, like in Hawaiiiiii
If the bought and paid for hacks that parade around in the Supreme Court dare to lie through their teeth and say that this is Constitutional I will do the following:
1) Demand my state nullifies the act immediately. If my state refuses to do so, I will move to a state that does.
2) If no state grows the spine to nullify, I will leave the country and renounce my citizenship.
Our founding fathers were simply AMAZING! I say this because, on only four (4) sheets of paper, the were able to establish the functions, limits and abilities of our Republic to serve the PEOPLE - It's called the "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES"!
We the people must demand that all new laws must be verified to insure that they are constitutional prior to any vote. Yes, this means they must be read and comprehended and debated first, not after the fact!
Court rules FEDERAL "health care" un-Constitution[al]! Nowhere does the Constitution require any Man to work, neither does it require Man to purchase any thing. So how can the Democrat or Republican churches (belief systems) require Man to work and purchase "health care" or face arrest and jail? The people we've electe...d seem to turn into their own form of Hitler having government agencies perform the dirty work, arrest/seizures, while they claim to "care" about freedom.
Wow! :34, they didn't put in a severability clause? Wow! 2,000 pages and they couldn't fit that in. The Democrats were incredibly stupid when crafting that piece of trash legislation.

If the SCOTUS eventually rules that the individual mandate is unconstitutional, they could very well also say that FICA is unconstitutional because it forces us to "buy" federal insurance, hence social security is also unconstitutional.
@standupgun My concern is that they'll use converse logic and say that because they already allow social security, there isn't anything different with forcing everyone to contribute to Obamacare, and I would assume their use of the commerce clause. But I'm pretty sure the founders didn't suggest the commerce clause as a means and end to govern EVERYTHING we do in our economy.
Western Europeans are moving away from failed socialist policies and America is moving toward them. Western Europe is in big trouble no matter what they do because of their low birth rates and their huge Muslim populations. There is still hope that Americans will go back to the foundations that made our country great.
@myrelative You have no clue how it works here. States are above the federal government. It is each states choice. Worry about Germany, you all have your own problems.
the supreme court is going to rule on it. the final decision is not with the states.
I understand that you would like to have states decide on whether a piece of legislation is constitutional (aka nullification), but reality is not even close to that right now.
the supreme court will decide, but not until 3 years of bogus court decisions have been made.
@myrelative Why not Nullification? It worked when only 25 states passed REAL ID nullification legislation. Despite the fact that federal law declares marijuana illegal in ALL cases and the Supreme Court has upheld it, 15 states have passed medical marijuana laws, and the feds have been powerless to stop them.
quite different case. the feds dont enforce federal marihuana laws in some cases, i.e. the states win just by the feds being inactive.
in the case of health care the states would have to actively prevent the federal government to prevent the implementation. I dont see this happening anytime soon, but if it does I'm not against it.
NOT TRUE...the minium required coverage on individual major medical insurance already took effect forcing people like me NOW to buy UNLIMITED lifetime coverage
I DON"T want as the law deems my 5million dollar lifetime coverage inadaquate.
move all the lawyers to a different country and there wouldn't be an issue with healthcare. Healthcare was very economical before medicaid was enacted. After medicaid was established was when all costs started skyrocketing.
@5tevef Exactly. Thanks to the "slip & fall" lawyers who bring these baseless lawsuits against our doctors & hospitals, all of our healthcare costs go up! And the Libs, like Mr.Freedomdemocracy, support suing the pants off doctors, just like they're in support of the illegal aliens who flood over the border and use & abusive our emergency rooms/services, putting in not a red cent of their own for it, while WE taxpayers foot the bill. The Left supports much of what is wrong with Society.
@Gerts4th Actually, the high cost of Health Care is due to all the broke ass bitches that cannot or do not pay....SOMEONE has to pay, and that is the TAXPAYER/WORKER. Don't like? Then vote to remove illegal aliens receiving free health care. Stop blaming lawyers for everything, the state of California is broke due to UNIONS and it's FREE HEALTHCARE TO ALL!
@Gerts4th Health care costs more because of unnecessary procedures prescribed by Dr's who work in hospitals that are first and foremost...businesses. There also happens to be incompetent people that work there that have to be held accountable for their actions...therefore sued. Illegals get free emergency care because hospitals WANT THE MONEY. Hospital's have lobbyists who bribe politicians to make sure the people DO pay for illegal's ER care and YOU pay for a politician's health care.
American Health Care in the US is Middle Age .... Not by chance it's 38th in health care. Americans really are masoichists when we talk about education and health care ... thanks God I paid only $250 year for College and only $15 for an operation ... It will never happen in America ... waaaaaay tooooo masoichist!!!!
@ghpatriot I din't "immigrate" in the US ..... I am a business man and I moved here because of my partner and because the wireless market was still virgin compared to Europe to develop. ;););)
@Xasew Too bad English is not my mother tongue .... if you want we can continue our discussion in French, Spanish or Italian ... even if I doubt you understand my English. BTW FYI I have been VP and deputy CEO in UK, France, Italy and the US ... with my college degrees. I am also classified in the US as "Alien of Extraordinary ability" .... and I got it when Bush was President not even when Obama came in place. ;););)
Ok, you beat me by 1 language(I speak English, Finnish and French). But my problem isn't who you are or how well you speak English. My problem is that your post basically trashes the US and tells how things are better elsewhere. If you for example added WHY you think the US system is so bad, then it would add something to the discussion.
@Xasew If MrFreedomdemocracy is a member of the radical Left, he/she/it believes neither in freedom OR democracy. Anyway, the facts disprove everything these Libs say. Our healthcare is the best there is, or else the rich/renowned from around the world wouldn't come HERE to the good 'ole U.S. for their healthcare, especially when a dreaded disease/condition threatens them. Look at Ted Kennedy: Another one who bashed our system, then stayed here to benefit from it when ill. Hypocrites!
So the whole enchilada has been found unconstitutional (yippee), does anyone know how the new 1099 filings that were apparently part of the health law will be affected? I (small business owner) have already received notices from American Express and other large corps requesting TIN, SSN etc in order to start complying with credit card receipts.
