@kastrosama Multiply the ingredients by a factor of 6 for 30 litres with the exception of the yeast (just follow pack instructions on how much to use)
@GoldMW2 5 litres but scales up easily. Multiply all the ingredients by 4.6 with the exception of the yeast (just follow pack instructions on how much to use)
@BrewTubeUK Thanks for fast reply, I had time to check out the rest of your channel. Decided to subscribe straight away! look forward to more great videos :)
@MrAwesome04000 I don't think it would. If you were making a traditional, low strength ginger beer it'd be all right, but all sugar for anything stronger tends to taste a bit odd in my opinion. You'd miss out on the malty flavour for one thing, but you could always try it out in a small batch and see how it goes.
@Rhoryborealis Yes, but it's the amount of it that gives the high strength of alcohol. If that amount of sugar or glucose was added, it would have the high alcohol content but without the tasty malt flavour.
@OssyTuber ah, there's an idea. I've been too afraid to forage my own burdock, because it can be confused with a poisonous plant if you don't know what you're doing.
Sometimes these comments really are the most. Thanks for the recipe friend, I'm going to give this one a try, I'm doing dandelion and burdock at the minute!
Notes for next time: Double the root ginger. When syphoning, bits of ginger block the tap on the syphon tube, so remove the tap and just use the tube. Also consider syphoning through a sieve or, perhaps, hold muslin or cheese cloth over the "in" end of the syphon tube with butchers string (or similar)
ive a 30ltr ferm bin, im looking to make some ginger beer much to the likeness of this recipe. what measurements of ingredients would be needed?

Hey, what quantity does this make in total, and will it scale to 5 gallons easily?
Thanks.

@BrewTubeUK I would suggest you place the raw ginger into boiling water for a minute or two to kill unwanted bacteria

Is it the malt extract that makes it a stronger ginger beer?

@OssyTuber Fantastic. I've often wondered about making dandelion and burdock myself. Did you harvest the burdock yourself?
