This country didn't even have enough respect for the soldiers to take care of this nation while they were gone. Are some of you going to go over to the mideast and clean up after them?? While I am happy DADT was repealed, both David and Rachel played a part in chastizing the current President at times over this issue. I am glad that Rachel was mature enough to admit she was wrong and David should have done the same considering he was on MSNBC months earlier being borderline disrespectful. Sometimes people on the left need to learn the difference between people who are fighting against you and those that are on your side that want things done the right and responsible way.

@akieya02 , let's keep in mind that DADT is only in force today because of the Obama administration's appeal of the court decision that struck this illegal law down. Also remember, DADT was not in force for about a week, showing that it can be repealed immediately with no harmful effect. What we have now is the possibility that DADT might be repealed sometime. It depends on the Pentagon, and it depends on the Republican congress accepting the certifications. Do you think they will?

1st:

The Executive Branch is obligated to enforce the ALL current laws. If they didn't appeal, that would sent a precendent where ANY single judge could strike any law he/she saw fit.

Why do we have the Legislative branch if the Judicial can disregard and make their own laws?

@rg0057 No administration should ever allow the lower courts to overturn something that was passed by Congress. Some of you need to understand that things like this take time, some people were rushing this President, did not believe he could do it this way (the right way) and as Rachel noted was very abusive towards him. Its almost as if they didn't realise that DADT had been in place 17 years prior to this President. Obama was right, period.
