It is mostly of homophonic texture and I would say that, though it is likely to have been composed early in the renaissance period it has more features of medieval music and that is the category I would place it under. As for secular that makes it no more renaissance than any other period in music history.

this is a german song, but not medieval. this is from the renaissance. the music is more secular and more polyphonic than medieval music.
