  • DID YOU KNOW? .....UNICEF CEO Caryl M. Stern receives $1,200,000 per year (100k per month) plus all expenses including a ROLLS ROYCE. Less than 5 cents of your donated dollar goes to the cause.

  • You might like this song about disaster relief

    w w w . veryepic . bandcamp . com / releases

  • who can possibly 'dislike' this?? douch balls.

  • I live in a rural town in Colorado. Three years ago the local water company sent everyone a notice warning that cancer could be a possible result from drinking the local water. We still have bad drinking water in this country.

  • I love "causes" like this. Hey average person! Here's this problem that's happening 5,000 miles away....don't worry about how to solve it. We already know how! We just need your money!

  • Water scarcity is a global problem, it will take citizen from all the nations suffering from it to actually take action and do something about it.

The problem won't go away by itself, Charities and NGOs can do but so much...the demand is just too high so it takes social business initiatives to actually put a dent on this never-ending problem.

  • Thanks for posting this video.

I am proud to donate to UNICEF and, having just read a blog written by Pop star JASON MRAZ, I gave again. And again.

    Thanks (again).

  • Is very nice!vey very big!

  • wow 6k per day, that's more than a swine flu.

  • tout les pays dévelopés sont des hypocrites,

voila, la vérité de la vérité...

    hypocrites et égoistes..

  • For those comments posted below regarding struggle to survive in Africa and large family size,

The reason children are dying is simple:

-The causes are preventable; lack of clean drinking water, cholera, infection, water contamination.

-diseases like AIDS and malaria are also present

All of these are existent or spreading because of the lack of each countries development to fight these issues, so developed countries like the U.S. now have a moral obligation to assist those in need

  • I wanna help those children that need water but i live in norway and we are heping children to get food.

  • I wonder where are you taking your vaccines from??? Asshole!

  • It's all a huge organised criminal enterprise: the people who put fluoride rat-poison into our drinking water, talk parents into pumping their children full ot toxic crap vaccines, and all the rest of it, and the WHO, UNICEF, the FDA, and the CDC etc are all part of this slow genocide they have planned and are carrying out against us. Beware!

  • While, on the surface, UNICEF is engaged in some worthwhile projects, it should be noted that like the WHO, UNICEF is promoting mass vaccination of the world's children. Vaccination is used for population control and reducution purposes; it has NOTHING to do with disease prevention! Do some research.

  • yea this video is really fuked up. listen to that happy music. this is sick in every way... kinda like pure evil. and i don't know anything about UNICEF but just from watching this vid i know i have to keep my eye out for them.

  • Simply put, YOU NEED HELP

  • What an extraordinary and inspiring idea to help children around the world, it's absolutely brilliant!

  • why tap water? it slows the thinking process as time passes and the amount consumed gets greater because of the amount of fluoride and "teeth cleaning" chemicals. know the truth... look it up...

  • Excellent campaign.

  • The sing is called Drop by Cornelius! I was looking everywhere for it!

  • Its not drop, I looked it up. That's the song at the beginning of the commercial. I mean the song at the end at 4:00 minuets. The ethnic-sounding song that's not in english. I cannot find out what it is.

  • i want that song too..have u found it?

  • Actually, no...I haven't! (Cries) If I had an I-phone I could use that music identification feature to find out what song it is! At least, I believe that's what its for. But I don't have an eye phone. I've typed in the unicef commercial, the year, network, and everything and I cannot find any credits for it to see what the name of the song is! Its driving me nuts! But, yeah. Still looking for a way to look for it. ^________^

  • Aren't you kind of missing the point?

You're more concerned about filling your ipod than absorbing the message. What kind of idiot are you?

  • I'm no idiot. I do know that there are kids in America that need help, but we choose to go help others. The only thing wrong with that is we can't help others if we can't help ourselves first . For another thing I don't have an ipod and if I had these options offered at my restaurants I might consider donating a dollar. I don't live in New York to participate in this and what can I do about it?. I can pray however for I am Christian, for those children to live and receive water.

  • What is the song that started to play in 4:00? :)

  • Holy cow I am in love with the music in the nearing end of the ad! Does anyone know where I can find it? Everything needs water to live. If it were happening in my area I'd do it, but its not so I can't really do that much to help. The united states is blessed beyond measure...

  • I would so pay one extra dollar. Everything has to have water. I really-really like music at the end of the commercial. Its ehtnic-like, does anyone know where I can find the composer of it? Or its file? I've tried looking already and the ad doesn't have any reference for its commisioned music...

  • Great campaign! I would totally pay the $1...all I drink is restaurants is the tap water anyway.

Although, I heard that traces of prescription drugs were found in the tap water. I saved it in my 'favorites'.

But I'm still grateful to have access to drinkable water in our country. And I support those organizations doing their part to provide clean water to other countries.

  • check out a singer called Dan Bowskill

    google him!!

he has a song called " clear water "

    one love

  • Does anyone know that fantastic song they used?

I support Unicef's Tap Project! The world needs to get ready for a whole new generation of global philanthropists.

March 22, 2008 Here we come!

I'm in Philadelphia, USA, anyone know how I can't get involved in my area?

  • it should be obvious that the world can not support 6 billion people at the western standard of living.

its not the West's problem they dont have birth control, only that they were exploited for many years.

without immigration, the population in america is decreasing. at a rate that is possible to live comfortably, tougher immigration standards and education around the world would solve many problems. its slowed down the population boom in india, EDUCATION!

  • I drink only premium hose water.

  • Yeah, lets spend all this money getting "safe drinking water" (lol) over to the starving kids in africa so they can live and have kids so our kids can pay for their kid's water too!

    Hurray.

  • Have some compassion buddy. Like it or not we all have to live in this world together, The US is not and cannot be an isolated entity for the wealthy. With that kind of attitude terrorism and war are inevitable. coexistence...

  • It sucks dude, but the earth simply cannot support a whole population living at the standard we all visualize. It's not possible.

When we support these people, were just perpetuating the problem. And they will NEVER return the favor.

Were supporting a gene pool of people who live on a continent that if it somehow hypothetically noone had ever discovered it...it would be 2008 and they would still be throwing spears at eachother.

  • Well, if Europeans didn't invade the Americas, I suppose the Native Americans would still be running around with spears too???

Colonialism has already taken it's toll on many people around the globe, it's far too late to say that now we should step back and do nothing. We have already stepped in and done something (though usually the wrong thing)

American standard of living is not possible for everyone in the globe, you are right about that. However a better standard of living is possible.

  • That's absolutely right about the native americans. It's called survival of the fittest and when we get in the way of that is what keeps these problems from working themselves out, and creates more problems.

  • Wo! It's not that simple. You think the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will just "work itself out". These problems are far more complicated than that and it's become quite obvious that violence is not the way to solve them, just pick up a history book.

The point is UNICEF is doing a good thing, so don't knock them for it

  • anyone know the name of the song at the end?

  • this is all bushes fault fuk someone just died

  • everywhere else there is starvation, lack of water, genocide, aids, etc BECAUSE OF THE WEST. africa has all the problems it has BECAUSE of the west.

  • survival of the fittest as humans, we're organisms, no more no less.

do you think supporting weekness instead of strength is good for the population as a whole?

  • Well the unicef should stop this right now!

At this rate of procreation there will be no clean fresh water or land for other animals that share this world with us! who the fuck are they to help someone who will not contribute their living on this world?! You see, this helping all around brought us to this point of high procreation without seeing all the consequences of it, so stop helping! (there is no such thing as free meal or shouldn't be)

  • aren't you an ignorant fool. Its not their fault their government is not developed and not providing them jobs.

  • It's not our problem either.

People who can't take care of themselves need to be weeded out. That goes for whole nations too.

Especially ones who will never return any favors they recieve, ever.

  • Isn't that what generosity is? I give but never expect anything in return.

  • UNICEF's Target by 2015:

Ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling.

Educated girls are likely to marry later and have fewer children, who in turn will be more likely to survive and be better nourished and educated. Educated girls are more productive at home and better paid in the workplace, and more able to participate in social, economic and political decision-making.

  • this is great.i have family in nigeria who don't have clean water all the time. but really they make it seem like only kids in other countries need clean water...americas water is not clean at all especially tap water from sinks,so really we're all in danger.

  • @acho93

americas tap water is clean. it is the same as bottled water. idk why youre saying it isnt.

  • @wutwazthat4 is that why every year there are sewage leaks that the public are not informed of, causing sicknesses and birth deformities?

  • Let's talk. First, wholesale beer price is .25 cents/bottle. So one dollar will buy a clean beer for four kids. Plus, beer has nutrition value. Then there is rainwater. It's free! So whats up with that? Next why new york? everyone knows newyorkers are greedy devil worshippers. Why the U.N.? Everyone knows they murder people and take their money and land. I just don't get it.

  • And, lets just say well, you don't want kids to drink beer because it has alcohol. I'll agree to that too. They can use the alcohol part to run their deep well pumps and drill rigs. No problem with that is there? See it's not too hard to figure things out without a lot of hullabaloo if you put your minds to it.

  • I can't believe so many ignorant people are speaking negatively of this idea. Saying 100.000 children is too few or pathetic. If you asked those children I bet they would be rather grateful, dont you? Providing safe access to drinking water is one of the MDG's of the United Nations ( Millenium Development Goals) and this is a great step towards that.

And for the rest of you ripping on the U.S. The thought of one president doesn't represent the entire country.

You guys are the pathetic ones.

  • what business do you have talking shit about other countries? Have you ever been to another country? You know your mouth might get you hurt someday.

  • Its the nwo scam, no disrespect but they ern the money from donators.

  • such cute chillin

  • wow i love all of the mathematicians here working out whether its 1 kid every 4 day or 3 kids every 2 days.

Could you let me know how many kids $3 TRILLION dollars would now save. Coz i cant actually count to that amount. In fact, I have never hear of people spend that amount.

Thats the amount, you guys in the US, have just spent on the Iraq war.

I reckon that thats gotta be a couple more kids a day than what you've counted.

  • here here, i know Americans may blame bush, but it is a democracy isnt it?

  • sorry about the double post, browser problem.

    my bad. 43,836/1,000,000,000 = 0.000044 (0.0044%)

    more math: 6,000 children per day * 0.000044 = 0.264 children

in other words: 1 child saved every 4 days! out of 6000 dying every day! that's pathetic! can't we do any better than that?

  • That's a drop in the bucket. $100,000 = as stated, 4 million children for one day OR 400,000 children for 40 days. the campaign itself states that 1,000,000,000 (billion) children are in need. or 43,836 children for a year.

So, the water needs of a mere 0.04% have been satisfied! 0.04% people!!!

Who did this benefit most? The advertisers: restaurants and other promoting this racked up sales in excess of their daily everages. The profits from those sales probably amounted to MUCH more.

  • they have good music

  • they have good music

  • quit advertisin'... i know already cuz i care...

  • there probably going to sell us water contaning drugs. pocket the money.

  • What is the name of the 2 songs on this? I REALLY need to know! I am making an informational video about this, and I really like the music.

  • I was wondering the same thing.

  • I was wondering the same thing.

  • dont forget africa is a part of our world, and their people is part of mankind

one dollar for most of us is nothing.. but for them it is everything

and maybe a pack of condom would be nice next to the dollar (stop AIDS)

  • Imagine how AIDS would spread if you had no condoms and a crappy immune system because you were malnourished. Also, maybe you should think twice before you drink a cup of coffee if that's your attitude. I could think of many reasons why what you said is completely wrong but frankly YOU ARE AN IDIOT so I wont waste my time.

  • isnt that just the American spirit. I really do hope for humanities sake that you pulling some sort of sick joke, because id hate the think there are such fuck witted idiots out there.

  • I don't want to sound cold hearted, but instead of water we should send them condoms .We keep feeding them and giving them aid and they keep breeding.Africa(the continent that is) dosn't have the resourses to sustain the amount of people that try to live there. Its not just Africa, its all countries.6 billion people!!!We're killing ourselves with our numbers.Exhale...What comes out?Multiply that by 6,ooo,ooo,ooo every 10 to 20 seconds. Can you say global warming?

  • i lol'd at your name

  • i doubt that through slavery Africa got screwed, everyone kills each other. I'm pretty sure that the fact that more than half of Africa is a desert, has little industrialization, and is ruled by dictators, and pro-genocide-nuts, doesn't help it. Even still, Europe enslaved Africans too. and before that Africans enslaved Jews. This can't be blamed on one country, but individual people who hold back the progress of mankind.

  • those children in africa may seem far away and be hard to grasp for you but they're people exactly the same as you; what if it was your mom, dad, brother, sister, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever who was dying of thirst? what would you say about "nature's rule" then? 'cause all of those people have families and relationships just like you do. it IS our duty to help people who are not as fortunate as we are.

  • Who is to say it isn't nature's rules to help one another? Some animals do it. Almost all insects do it.

Of course I grew up only having clean tap water at school, and filthy mineral laden waters at home, so maybe I'm too addled in the head to contribute to this society by being a helpful person.

    Tap Project helps....

  • /watch?v=MwB1gd1BFC0

  • That's great ppl are taking action!!!! I live in hawaii and i feel sorry for the ppl who have catchment and have to depend on the rain for there water supply because in some areas they don't get rain that much so they don't have water unless they go out to get it from the store or a local pump

  • omg i wanna cry, this is so emotional.

  • That's just what the international bankers behind the UN want you to feel. The Earth Charter and Agenda 21 puts them in control of the entire world. They're raped all of the workers of the world economically, all countries are up to their necks in debt to them, and they fund both sides of every war causing the death of billions of people. How is it that you can sleep at night? Don't you have a conscience??

  • u know what am i thinking of haha

  • i do feel bad for these other countries that need help but we need to help those in our country first. there are enough people here that need help and we send all our money over seas. no wonder our country isnt worth a shit. how many countries help us out but when everyone else is in trouble oh help us united states but fuck you any other time

  • Or maybe your President isn't spending his money effectively. You can afford to help yourselves, although the money which should be used for this is being used to go and kill the innocent citizens of Iraq. Think about who you vote for. I know it isn't the fault of the American citizens but you can't turn the other cheek.

  • at least they're trying something, unlike your dumbass

  • i think they are doing a very big job :)

  • yeah, watch america's next top model, or any documentary...they exist...there's just not very many like over here.

  • nope. there are still too many greedy bastards in the world whoring in most of the resources. why cant we all share?

  • Why is it up to us to figure out other peoples problems? Africa has been a shit hole ever since I can remeber. How many generations of American children have grown up donating to African charities? They have become lazy and used to getting handouts!! I say let the fuckers starve to death, maybe then they will get off their asses and help themselves.

  • that's so horrible! most people are dying from AIDS or have loved ones experiencing that. also, there's little, if any, work in rural areas in africa.

  • I'm really disappointed because after reading all of the messages on here. I went out and bought 3 cases of bottled water and took them to my local UNICEF Chapter for Donation. They charged me a $20.00 dollar Donation Fee.

  • hahahahaha!! U stupid fuck.

  • what the hell I've never heard of a donation -fee-.. that is strange.

  • I have a brilliant idea!! people in the third world should stop breeding all together. It would curtail the dying of 5000+ children a day bullshit... why make babies when u can't even fucking feed them?!!!... seriously!

  • Actually there's 30,000 African children dying per day. They die, because the parents have 10+ children per family.

If people in developed countries struggle to bring up 3 children, how in the hell are Africans going manage 10+?

Children are dying because of the parents foolish actions. And they're paying for it. Very simple.

  • 30,000 African kids die every day?!! How are they not extinct yet?!...

  • Quoting Daracon75: "because the parents have 10+ children per family."

  • Children are dying because they have no immediate access to clean, safe drinking water. Very simple.

Where did you get this 10+ children per family statistic? The actual number is between 4-6. Parents in developing countries have so many children for many reasons. Survival being one.

It's a depressing thought that so many kids die so needlessly. What's more depressing is that people like you have an attitude that they somehow deserve it.

  • Its time we put our nuclear arsenal to good use instead of letting it gather dust. Lets cull the human rodent population by atleast 2 to 3 billion...

  • Well Nukes are expensive.. Are we sure we want to waste the money?

  • Its still cheaper and more humane.

  • Well yes and I have to applaud your suggestions, because I can tell that they are thoroughly thought out and indeed truthful. But, White America owes the Africans because of some shit that happened to them 300 years ago. So why not send over a couple million cases of ahh "Water"...

  • vomits.

  • I Do Not Agree with the Proposal for Nuking Africa..because they would just destroy the real valuable assets of Africa such as the Chimps, Gorillas, and Wild Life... If they didn't live there than I don't think it wouldn't be a problem.

  • didnt think about that... maybe just the cities... does Africa have cities?

  • yes, but most of africa(which is huge), is composed of rural areas

  • I don't think so... Never seen no African cities in the Movies.

  • So, your volunteering?

  • Well after watching the video several times, I have to admit that the water really doesn't look that bad. Maybe adding Ice would be more of the solution....

  • 50% of world diseases will be gone if people stop drinking infected water.

  • powerfull and moving, bring unicef tap to indianapolis, IN!

  • fucking dogooders.

  • I think its time we got rid of 1 billion people.... lets start with africa and work our way around the third world countries... sound like a plan?

  • I think its time we got rid of 1 billion people.... lets start with africa and work our way around the third world countries... sound like a plan?

  • lets start with people like you!

  • Shut up hippie.

  • i hope ur kidding.

  • i hope ur kidding.

  • I say lets put them out of our misery.... don't u agree?

  • man america should stop waging wars and rather help. well not only america but also those fucking rich ass arabs. God granted us a beautiful life we have a responsibility to give back. And plus you cant make your life any more comfy in a palace of haveing 300 cars! this is an awesome idea i think also schools should start to be opened and funded.

  • nice but yes I agree more money should be donated for more serious world issues.

  • Im Gunna cry.. thank you unicef thats soo nice :D

  • Why doesn't everyone in the United States who drinks Starsmucks coffee at $3.00+ per cup just for one day donate that money to WORLD hunger issues. I don't know how many Millions of cups of Starsmucks are sold per day, but take just $1.00 of each cup and give it to a fund like this. Why does everything have to be about 1 thing, just tap water, why not take a $ for every drink ordered, soda, coffee, icedtea? Make a real statement! Build water treatment plants and teach good health and hygiene.

  • I'm going to go find the donate button unicef's site.

  • how do they invest that money??

do they bring them bottles with water or what?

if yes: it would be not rly senseful. they should build water production systems to make the "3rd world" more independent. but anyway, i think there are alot problems in africa and other countries, which cant be solved in 100 years. someone in this comment list told: "we can change the world now",this is a bit naive.well not only a bit. its completely naive, sorry but how u wanna change the world now? not rly easy

  • well put

  • wow

does this only apply to new york or all over america?

does it apply to the UK? because i wanna help but i live in the UK

  • Or, you can just stop buying bottled water. With all the money we spend on bottling water and having it shipped around the world, we could CLEAN THE WORLD'S WATER SUPPLY.

    Think about that.

  • oh my gosh, my pal MAtt Rutherford made that video!!

  • What if someone donates a shit load of money how are you even supposed to know that your money is reaching those kids?

  • It's an internationally recognized organization...

  • What would your rather do give the $ to Joe Blow? Are you going to go to Africa yourself and give a fresh cup of water to a child. When will we stop being some pesimistic about charities?? Just give some $ instead of buying another Big Mac at McCrappys.

  • watch this for acne help and join in

    /watch?v=TDgCa6VcK1Y

    P.S. sponser a child!

  • thats what hitler thought and did, and look where that went, im guessing u want the same to happen to America? because no one country can stand up to world.

  • WOW...i´m speechless...and depressed...

  • ya damn those horny bastards for spreading aids

  • AIDS might have originated in africa... but america and europe are to blame for the spread of it around the world......

  • you cheeky bastard, im guessing your cough cough american?! what the fuck have they ever done for society except destroy it? i live in england and that is in europe (you probably didnt know that though because i doubt you go/went to school) if it wernt for us having a little tour of the world your cunt-ry wouldnt exist. the british used to own 70% of all known land at one time more then what your shitty cunt-ry ever has so know your fucking place cock!

  • most of the shittyness of American politics is due to our ties with Brittish Bastards like Tony Blair A.K.A.The Blair Bitch Project.Know your place big mouth.Don't mess with America or Americans, you cheeky punk !

  • haha god get an education. does america have politics? all i know is that its got a government made up of has been movie stars. also your government is so messed up it lets everyone have guns and wonders why people are getting shot, something wrong there punk. and for the record tony blair isnt a bastard, his parents were married when he was born, unlike yours though i bet. and the dont mess with americans bit..... can you not have a logical arguement? xx

  • Ignore him, he has no brains. Besides, why the hell should you go after our whole country because of a few idiots? Your comments make you no better than him.

  • Africa gave us AIDS.....>.>

  • this project sounds good.

BUT TOO BAD UNICEF ALSO FUNDS ABORTIONS IN THRID WORLD COUNTRIES.

save a child and kill one too; nice one UNICEF.

  • watch this for acne help and join in

    /watch?v=TDgCa6VcK1Y

  • This is such a transcendent thing. Yay UNICEF!

I am so disappointed in those of you saying it's their fault for defecating in their water. You are so ignorant! Ignorant, sheltered, spoiled Americans! You oversimplify. Sorry to rant, but that angers me.

  • Actually US and European particulate pollution does make the water "Disappear". The climate simulations suggest that the sub-Saharan droughts of the 80's were caused by US andd EU pollution. As we cleaned up particulates the monsoons returned to Africa for the time being. But now China and India are making far more particulates and threatening preciptation patterns in Asia.

  • I'd tap that.

  • Or how about contraception. I really don't understand people. If you're poor, then why have a child? It's like "wow my life sucks, can't feed myself, disease everywhere, oh gee I'll bring an innocent child who never had a say into the mix" In a perfect world people how couldn't feed themselves, have drug addictions, or mental illness would be sterilized.

  • Hey, are you a Nazi by any chance?

  • Hey thanks by the way for categorizing all Americans by one persons comment, thats very intelligent of you.

  • The director of Unicef must be proud.

I always had a hard time to give my money to an idea that doesn't have any precise plan on what to do with the funds, especially from organizations that have CEOs or directors.

  • Yeah man when they stop taking dumps in the water suplly is when thel lhave clean water ud think thed be clever enough not to take a dump in the drinnking water

  • Just listen to yourself. You'd think you'd be clever enough not to make that post.

I grew up in Mali, and they don't relieve themselves right into the drinking water. They'd dig a hole on the outskirts of the village and go, but via groundwater bacteria makes its way into wells and such.

  • You need to go to Africa. It's not as simple as just telling everyone to boil water. There are all sorts of barriers, especially cultural. It's a completely different worldview than you'd understand, not based on science. What makes you think they blame us? How do you know all that? You'd rather believe what's convenient for you than the truth.

  • wow, i dont care

  • I'm with colinhood7. Make a campaign that doesn't inconvenience everyone expect yourselves. Everyone wants to save to the world, but they don't want to surrender their Manolo Blahnik pumps.

  • I won't donate until you convince me there's a clear, lasting technical solutions being planned.
