  • my twopence for what's worth:

    1: excellent piece :)

    2: we have a great santoor folkmusic tradition in greece too

    3: etymology: san-toor from sanskrit kata = hundred and tor = chord > hence the "hundred-chord" instrument

    of similar etymology: guitar and sitar

    im going back to Iran to get my Santur. Bests ones there if u want the highest quality ones. everywhere else they import and copy so its not genuine.

  • If you are a Santoor fan, search for "Tamana Parviz Meshkatian" on youtube as well ! i'm pretty sure you'll like it ... :)

  • The Santur in this shape and form is Iranian. Also from what I've heard Iranians play it much better, I'll be more than happy to check out any videos..

  • I am greek too and I have to say that I have never seen a greek guy play with so much passion and technique. We play it way differently, this guy is really something else. Stay creative my fellow!
