Maybe, just maybe, even if the original band members could get together, we would still say "I miss de old GN'R". I mean, they all grew up and got some sense in their heads. We're all in love with a band of irresponsable, drug-addict, sexual-freaks young men, who even though still have great tallent, got their minds changed over the years. We sure love the music, but the spirit as well, and just look at Axel or his interviews -he grew up. He's not the same Axl, just the same great voice
Give Axl and Chinese Democracy a chance, I´d really love to see the original band together but it won't happen, Axl worked his ass off on this album give the man a chance, it's a great album

He's credited as "co-writer" on early GnR for lyrics and vocals only. Axl tinkers on the piano. Izzy and Slash were the chief composers of all memorable GnR material. Rose required a small army and 15 yrs to complete a single album b/c his musicianship/songwriting chops are weak and he knows it.

I've seen live shows by GNR where his voice was alot better( 09- 10). He clearly was not doing so great at the time this video was shot. Singing live is difficult for the best of the best anyway. Especially when you get older.

And yeah I liked Appetite and even a few songs on the newer album but that's because they sounded good on the album. He was NEVER NEARLY as good live.

Slash is overrated...Ashba , Bumblefoot and even Fortus can do the same, and perhaps better than Slash. Now, if we are talking about Izzy, its a different part....GnR would be ten times better with Izzy back
@caracasrocks Gotta agree with you about Izzy. He wrote a huge chunk of the old classic stuff. He's also one hell of a rhythm guitarist and vastly under rated in that regard. As far as Slash vs. the new guys, yeah they play fast and they play great. But at the same time, they never would've come up with the solos Slash did on November Rain or Estranged because they would've been to busy trying to play fast. He has a very different style than these guys. Fast players are a dime a dozen...
@danimal97520 He wrote ALL the material on appetite (along with slash), save for a few fillers that he wrote with Duff and hired writer (forget his name). Izzy was the secret weapon in that band but like many songwriters, he never got the credit he deserved b/c cameramen always fixate on the vocalist and lead guitarist. Fans who never bother to check songwriting credits/"who did what", naively assume that the vocalist or lead guitarist are responsible, which in many instances is not the case
@ritter89 Couldn't agree more with you. And let me just say... I'm a huge Slash fan but...without Izzy, Guns would never have been Guns. The guy was (and still is) friggin' brilliant. That's why Axl and Slash both like him playing with them. The new Guns lineup actually proves that. Axl needs 2 rhythm guitarists now to do what Izzy used to do.Anyone can play a solo, but not many can match Izzy's rhythm guitar. And as far as writing, Izzy was as important to Guns as anyone else in the band
Let's make something clear... Slash left Guns N' Roses for reasons we may not understand, but none-the-less; He Left... Don't hate on axl because he is trying his best at keeping the legacy alive. Axl has made several attempts at trying to get the former members to come back, but they refuse... you want someone to throw stones at - throw it at them.. I give axl props for keeping the Guns blazing, and he has excellent matirial.Even though it's not the same, it's still better than Velvet Revolver
@Luckysixxgunn Not very informed are you. Axl has gone as far as to refuse to allow Duff and Slash into see the new Guns perform. Axl told Slash and Duff during the Illusion tour that they could sign over their rights to the band or he was breaking the band up, because he wanted total control as far back as 1992. And there is nothing to show Axl contacting anyone aside from Izzy to even do so much as a show with him. Hell even Axl hasn't said that. So don't bullshit man.

Axl Rose is the most awesome front man/ singer in the last 25 years!!! I listen to everything out there and nobody has topped him!!! He still has it too!!! I think it's a useless discution when we're batteling for who's the best.. you can say that al the guitarist in al the "big" bands are good, if they al sucks and there's only one good gituirist, then there was olso only one good band. We all have our favourite's, me to, but there are so many good guitarist that you can't say "he's the best" our "he is better than", it's not because the one says that Slash says he's more rock n' roll as DJ Asba, that Slash IS better, they are both 2 guitarhero's!

Axl wrote every song, Slash and the rest of the group have openly said (in documentaries) they didn't want to do the slow songs (November Rain, Don't cry etc), if it weren't for Axl those great songs wouldn't have happened.
I love the original versions of the band but the show goes on.

Great CD. Seen them twice since 06 and Axl puts on a amazing show each time and proves he is still the one to top when it come to rockin the fuck out of the place, and he couldn't go wrong having Sebastian Bach open for him. 2 of the greatest male vocalist in the same show, what more could you want. As far as a reunion, it would be nice but doubtful. If they were able to sit down and put everything behind them and go on tour all that needs to be said is everywhere would be SOLDOUT.........

Mine is that CD is a great album. Not autotuned to death. That has the vocals on it that couldn't be matched by many, much less live....
I've seen live shows by GNR where his voice was alot better( 09- 10). He clearly was not doing so great at the time this video was shot. Singing live is difficult for the best of the best anyway. Especially when you get older.

Slash is overrated...Ashba , Bumblefoot and even Fortus can do the same, and perhaps better than Slash. Now, if we are talking about Izzy, its a different part....GnR would be ten times better with Izzy back

@caracasrocks Gotta agree with you about Izzy. He wrote a huge chunk of the old classic stuff. He's also one hell of a rhythm guitarist and vastly under rated in that regard. As far as Slash vs. the new guys, yeah they play fast and they play great. But at the same time, they never would've come up with the solos Slash did on November Rain or Estranged because they would've been to busy trying to play fast. He has a very different style than these guys. Fast players are a dime a dozen...

@danimal97520 He wrote ALL the material on appetite (along with slash), save for a few fillers that he wrote with Duff and hired writer (forget his name). Izzy was the secret weapon in that band but like many songwriters, he never got the credit he deserved b/c cameramen always fixate on the vocalist and lead guitarist. Fans who never bother to check songwriting credits/"who did what", naively assume that the vocalist or lead guitarist are responsible, which in many instances is not the case

@ritter89 Couldn't agree more with you. And let me just say... I'm a huge Slash fan but...without Izzy, Guns would never have been Guns. The guy was (and still is) friggin' brilliant. That's why Axl and Slash both like him playing with them. The new Guns lineup actually proves that. Axl needs 2 rhythm guitarists now to do what Izzy used to do.Anyone can play a solo, but not many can match Izzy's rhythm guitar. And as far as writing, Izzy was as important to Guns as anyone else in the band

Let's make something clear... Slash left Guns N' Roses for reasons we may not understand, but none-the-less; He Left... Don't hate on axl because he is trying his best at keeping the legacy alive. Axl has made several attempts at trying to get the former members to come back, but they refuse... you want someone to throw stones at - throw it at them.. I give axl props for keeping the Guns blazing, and he has excellent matirial.Even though it's not the same, it's still better than Velvet Revolver

@Luckysixxgunn Not very informed are you. Axl has gone as far as to refuse to allow Duff and Slash into see the new Guns perform. Axl told Slash and Duff during the Illusion tour that they could sign over their rights to the band or he was breaking the band up, because he wanted total control as far back as 1992. And there is nothing to show Axl contacting anyone aside from Izzy to even do so much as a show with him. Hell even Axl hasn't said that. So don't bullshit man.

Axl Rose is the most awesome front man/ singer in the last 25 years!!! I listen to everything out there and nobody has topped him!!! He still has it too!!! It's true that him and slash are both great!!! Slash is definately one of my favorite guitarists of all time, but he obviously needed Axl more than Axl needed him. Without Axl there would not have ever been a Guns N' Roses. Axl must have his reasons for not wanting anything to do with Slash. Give Ashba a chance and you won't be disappointed!

No one can replace Slash blah blah blah, Slash is great but he never played this song so how can he, Robin Finck, be trying to replace him! Robin Finck is a great guitarist in his own right. Its the new gnr and the new line up is what it is. The old line up were brilliant but its gone. There wont be a reunion Axl has said that for years!

I think it's a useless discution when we're batteling for who's the best.. you can say that al the guitarist in al the "big" bands are good, if they al sucks and there's only one good gituirist, then there was olso only one good band. We all have our favourite's, me to, but there are so many good guitarist that you can't say "he's the best" our "he is better than", it's not because the one says that Slash says he's more rock n' roll as DJ Asba, that Slash IS better, they are both 2 guitarhero's!

Why do people act like Slash is the be all and end all?
Axl wrote every song, Slash and the rest of the group have openly said (in documentaries) they didn't want to do the slow songs (November Rain, Don't cry etc), if it weren't for Axl those great songs wouldn't have happened.
I love the original versions of the band but the show goes on.

@BigPhil1982 Wow bro, is that really true??...Estranged is my all-time fav G n' R song n I know Axl wrote that whole song in it's entirety, but wasn't aware that Axl was the sole reason the major Illusion ballads were released. We can't forget Stradlin who was a major writing contributor as well.
Personally, I love the new band but the original squad was just so iconic that they're really irreplaceable. Keep writng great tips like that bro...always love G n' R as well!

Great CD. Seen them twice since 06 and Axl puts on a amazing show each time and proves he is still the one to top when it come to rockin the fuck out of the place, and he couldn't go wrong having Sebastian Bach open for him. 2 of the greatest male vocalist in the same show, what more could you want. As far as a reunion, it would be nice but doubtful. If they were able to sit down and put everything behind them and go on tour all that needs to be said is everywhere would be SOLDOUT.........
